Does anyone have a sense of how in the real world pilots choose a SID/Star. I took a flight from KBOS to KLGA - I use PFPX (along w/ Active Sky Next) - PFPX will assign the SID/Star for you if you wish. For example, the STAR/approach assigned literally took me over KLGA - went about 15 miles west - and then turned around to land (I don't recall the runway details). Maybe it's normal, but it feels very strange to be flying over the airport to turn around 180 degrees and land. I understand that ATC will assign and we fly at the pleasure of ATC - I also know that when I set up my flight in PFPX I can choose from different SIDS/STARS. Is there a site you can go to that s…

The TFDi 737 Extreme Sound seems really good, and certainly better than the default FSX 737 sound. However, is it worth getting if I have the PMDG 737? Is the sound pack more realistic than the PMDG sound pack? Or would I be better off getting something from TSS?

I've been using Littlenavmap for all my navigation fora while now but I thought I would download the 30 day trial of Aivlasoft EFB v2 just to try it. It's beautifully designed but I'm struggling to find out what it can do that Littlenavmap can't. I never do complicated flight plans but I do SIDS and STARS sometimes. I wondered if anyone had experience of both? Thanks

Hi All Wondering if anybody may have any insight regarding Friendly Panels Learjet 45 installation into repaints of the default Learjet 45 I currently have two repaints of the LJ 45 added to the default LJ 45's in FSX-SE....after unzipping and running the FP installer it did in fact create the two additional LJ 45's with the Friendly Panels installed (Anniversary Edition / Gold-Black) but failed to install into the two repaints....they remained with the default LJ 45 panel After mistakenly attempting to move some of the FP panel files into the default LJ 45 panel thinking this was the correct way to install them into the repainted LJ 45's....I quickly disc…

Hello all, very interesting issue I have. My NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2GB EVGA Superclocked which died after 4 yrs. So, I replaced it with the GTX 1060 SSC 6GB and funny (or not funny) enough I saw a slight degradation in performance, just plug and play no changes whatsoever. Yes, I did see some graphics improvements no question about. I updated to the latest drivers that’s all I did I didn’t want to make any changes to my Sim since after 4 yrs. on this rig I finally found the sweet spot between performance, smoothness and texture. My FPS have dropped by between 5-10 or lower sometimes with this card. I generally got 27-30 FPS (FPS locked at 30) sitting on the run…

Hello, I was wondering if anyone here knows how to set up FSUIPC with Saitek X52? I've got all axis working, the problem is trim up/down in PMDG 747-400. On my stick, there is a 2-way button (T1) that I have been trying to map to trim up/down (https://www.dropbox.com/s/qtmhuicd3zrp6us/Trim.JPG?dl=0) for a day now without any success. I have tried calibrating trough FSUIPC, send direct to FS, and create mouse macro. I've tried assigning it to keyboard buttons but no matter what I do the only way to interact/use the cockpit button is by RMB/LMB when hovering over it.

Hi, i have just bought fsuipc and i gotta say: so far im not that impressed. I bump into problems all the time. And now, when I try to create mouse macros! The real problems begin. When I hover my mouse over a switch on the overhead panel the text in the green bar on the top starts flashing red and white. So I can’t type in my name of the fuction. However, if I just press the switch and I move my mouse, I can type. But now a new problem begins. I stop macro making and I type in what key I want for each function. I press confirm but when I afterwards go into the cockpit and test the macros. It doesn’t doanything, with other words...it doesnt work, please help!…

Hello. I got the Precipit FX from FSFX and installed it. But when I went to check out the new textures in FSX, the crappy old textures were still there. I tried using active sky next and it still did not work. I have tried reinstall to no avail. Am I installing it incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated thanks

Alright, starting from the beginning... Quad Core i7 something or other with 3 GHZ 16 GB ram 1 GB Nvidia graphics card (which makes no diff on performance due to FSX/FSX-SE) Windows 7 SP 2 FSX-SE TBs of HDD space... Did some reading, loads of it. Grabbed WOAI installer and AIFP (to convert any FS9 files to FSX format). Grabbed a ton (200) traffic packages. Installed via auto install of WOAI installer. Ran AIFP. Under Bulk Traffic, selected "convert FS9 files to FSX" with option "Delete FS files after converting" selected. AIFP does it's thing. What's the best and/or most realistic MD-80/MD-90 addon for FSX?

HI I have Plan G installed on my computer. However I would like to change the default flight plans (pln.) to a different folder and store them in Steam FSX plans . How do I go about changing the default folder from Plan G /flight plans to the FSX steam flight plans folder. I tried in options but the pathway is not saved Thanks

Reinstalled everything with success, and then started setting up my A/C. I am running the latest FSUIPC. Started setting up my PMDG 737, and I cannot get the throttles to work. Since I'm using FSUIPC, I had turned off the controllers in FSX/SE, and no matter what I tried, I could not get the throttles to calibrate. I remembered something about the PMDG stuff not liking FSUIPC, so I deleted the FSUIPC.ini section for the 737, and turned on the FSX/SE controllers (I'm running Saitek X-55 system). a…

Hi everyone, Recently, I've reviewed the VAS usage of my planes, since I've had some OOMs or close calls. To my 'dismay' I discovered that the A2A planes actually take much more VAS than even the Alabeo C400 which has the G1000 (that supposedly needs a lot of VAS). (Obviously that's for good reason and I enjoy flying them, but sometimes I want to fly more to enjoy the scenery.) Since my very well-used A2A planes aren't quite as VAS-friendly, I'm looking for a lighter simulation. I'm looking for a nice-looking VFR aircraft to enjoy VAS-hungry (ORBX and other) scenery. Hey guys. I just got the Thai Creation VABB but there's apparently an elevation issue on the runway where the aircraft just sinks to the ground. Anyone has this problem and fixed it? Would appreciate your help please. I am using FTX Global also and i have tried searching and got the fix file which contains 2 new bgl but still the problem wont go away. Tried rearranging the order of VABB and VAJJ also but still same problem. Please help. Thanks Swadeep

Hi there! I would like to ask if somebody is facing this problem when initiating FSX. Until 3 days ago, it run perfectly and I enjoyed all my gliders and liners flights on IVAO, without any problem. Suddenly, the day after, I was unable to initiate some other programms, like ASN, Landing Rate Monitor and a few others. I have attached some screenshots below. I have tried many options, but without sucess, like to download some software to remove junk files and when I go to execute these cleaner files as administrator, the same fricking error window appear, avoiding me to continue trying to fix the problem. Hello there Avsim. This is my first post on your wide wide forums. I am glad there is such a community to help each other out. Now onto my issue. I get this what I'm assuming is a weird glitch. Even with Steve's Scenery Fixer installed(v3.4) it happens. The sun textures seem to either be missing or not register or whatever you wanna call it, only when I'm in DX10 and enable Light bloom from FSX options. If i turn light bloom off the sun looks like it's supposed to. If I switch to DX9 the problem doesn't exist. Hello, i have tried F9 but it didnt work. My view can only see the top of the cockpit and not the thing to pull up/control i have to keep pressing A to see things but still cant find the pull up thing.

Hello everyone. I'm currently on my 3rd attempt ever to use FSX in my laptop (specs on my signature), and the most serious so far. So serious that, after reformat, I've only reinstalled FS9 for troubleshooting, and to a very barebones level. All my flights have been done on FSX-SE since reformat. I've read applied all known guides for setting up Windows and FSX: NickN's Bible, Avsim's guide and even Mathijs Kok's one. My settings are good enough for flying heavies in some rather secondary airports (SKBO and smaller). I noticed that the strobes don’t work on the quality wings 757. Also the FMC seems to be kind of strange when it comes to STARS/SIDS. The Way points don’t line up correctly on the localizer. Also I did a full update through navigraph But when I choose a runway in the FMC it is not the correct runway. FSX has to 26R and the FMC has 25R. Very strange behavior
