Hi Don't think this is a hardware related issue, but more about a reinstall. I've looked at various old posts, but can't find one that answers this specific issue: New build with an i7-3770 and new HDDs Separate HHD for FSX FSX HDD failed first time I tried to fly Couldn't do a full uninstall as FSX wasn't listed New HHD is now in place and FSX was 'repaired' when I put the discs in, but didn't run. New HDD now reformatted and empty & waiting . . . The question is: I think I should have cleaned out the C drive of anything FSX related, but I don't know how to do it or what I'm looking for. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks John

First off let me say Hi to everyone as this is my first post. Now for my first question. I have re-installed FSX onto a new seperate HD and I am wondering if its possible to transfer my save games, completed mission scores and flight records etc over to the new install? And if so, how? Hello All - I started flight simming way back in 2002 and was faithful daily flyer for over 5 years. Things changed in my life and I haven't flown since 2007. I flew FS2004 and Phoenix's PSS A320 series. I loved this setup and miss it dearly. I'm going to jump back into this leisure activity again. I've got a new respectable hardware setup but need some advice on software. I realize PSS doesn't work so hot on FSX so I'm wonder if there are any recommendations on a good replacement for the PSS models? I loved the MCDU that PSS offered. Any suggestions?

I know this question has probably been asked a million times now, but from past experience, what do you think it better? I currently own REX 2.0 (I'm getting Essentials tomorrow when I have the time) and I'm also thinking of buying ActiveSky 2012. The problem I find with REX is that it takes absolutely ages to install textures, and this really gets on my nerves. I've heard that AS' weather and clouds is better/more realistic but I've also heard that REX has better textures. So what do people do, use both? Any past experience, I really want to hear some!!

I would like to learn flying the Hornet from Reality virtual. I am looking for VA but some of them or in the usa and will have time problems to fly because I am located in the netherlands. the blue angels dont accept further recruits as stated in there homepage. I tried the fsx fleet but will have nightflying too. does anyone has another VA or learning club in mind? please let me know.

My airplanes. All of them. Even Default planes.... have been starting out off, which is a problem because I dont know how to turn them all on. And so I was wondering if there is a way to get the airplanes to start out on again?

Hi, I've been reading some of the older posts that dates back 2 through 5 years that deal with the distored view issue in the 2D panel when the Wide View Aspect is set to TRUE in the FSX configuration. I like the TRUE setting but I do not like the distorted view in the 2D Panel. To see the differece while in the 2D cockpit, look out the window and just press the W key. Pressing the W key will remove the 2D panel but concentrate on the view ahead of you. Now, the view is correct with no distortion. Hi guys 'n' gals Been searching for a while but im unable to find any kind of sight for fsx :( I have me a B17 :)..Bombs that explode on impact with fire/smoke effects and FLAK over the target area's...its just impossible to hit the ''targets''! Can anyone piont me in the right direction please? (if any exist?) Thanks.

I am running WIN7, 64 bit. I installed Autothumbnail V2 with the fix. Sometimes it will create a thumbnail OK. Other times it gives an error and says it cannot write the change to the texture folder. I can make my own thumbnails and paste them into the texture folders with no problems for the same plane that gave me the error in Autothumbnail V2. It seems like it is a problem with WIN7, 64 bit. I wrote to the gentleman who uploaded it and he said it as not his product and that the original author can't be contacted anymore. Does anyone have a fix for it in WIN7, 64 bit? Hey guys, just wondering how to change the current flightplans i have for more updates ones that i downloaded off AVSIM libary, think they was made by alpha india. for example i want to replace the current Singapore Airlines AI flightplan which i downloaded with World of AI with a new singapore AI flightplan from 2011, how do i do this? thanks in advance Ryan

Hi everyone, I recently asked for someone to send me some default effect texture files because they somehow went missing and I had black squares all over the place. I got a few of them from users here and in another forum, but after activating missingtexturealert in fsx.cfg there seem to be a lot more missing, namely: fx_1.bmp till fx_?.bmp, I already replaced 1 and 2, but they were all missing and I dont know how many of them are there. shadows1_lm.bmp fx_swoosh.bmp ...and I think a lot more, seems that only default FSX textures are affected. Now how can such a thing happen? I never deleted anything in the FSX Folder, only thing I did was uninstalling …

Seems like I can never get logged in over at the REX forums so I thought I'd post here. Wondering if anyone has seen this and might have any work arounds or fixes. I tend to run my sim with challenging weather...low visibility, turbulence, crosswinds...different stuff for training or for making it more real. I *try* to use REX for this but I have a couple of issues when I use it. Sometimes, the weather clears and stays away. I can understand it clearing it momentarily while it reloads but then it just turns into a perfect sunny day for 4-5 minutes and the weather comes back. Forcing a reload doesn't seem to help much if at all. Can't seem to figure out how to …

FSX seems to be working well and smoothly overall, except for an annoying issue to do with peridocal flashes/flickering of the sky immediately above the aircraft, the best way to describe is to compare it to a sort of white strobe type flash. It doesn't happen all the time but does appear at random. Not been able to find why this is happening. Any advice/solution would be most welcome. Thanks

Sometimes a 2D popup panel get corrupted. It can happen precisely when the panel is displayed or after a delay of some second or so. It has also happened when I click a switch on the panel. I use FSX+Acceleration on a Win 7 x64 platform with latest nvidia drivers. The pic below shows how the corruption look like.

Has anyone used Project Tupolev PT-154B2 for fsx before? I notice 1.0 was release,and i download this file got about 107MB,and has some wrong on install.Only install few folder in fsx,"effects ' gauges ' project tupolev",not anything like simobject file... have any idea about this? http://files.protu-1...-154b2_fsx.html

Hey guys, im a new member here but ive downloaded a lot of the addons on AVSIM. im just wondering how i can change AI aircraft on FSX? i.e. instead of the Emirates 777 flying in to Manchester i want the Emirates A380 to take its place, how do i change that? thank you in advance for any replys Ryan

Ive literally asked this question to everyone except this forum. But i havent figured it out yet. Ive been working hrd to fix it or a week but seems to be unsolvable. The problem is that when I try to start a flight with my USACARS for my VA, I get this error: my ACARS has worked perfectly untill I installed Squawkbox3. I have Uninstalled and tried just about everything Ive been told to do :( I hope someone here has an answer to this. - Jerad

I just installed ezdok 1.17 but can't seem to get it working. I deleted all the key assignments from fax that conflicted but when I bring up the list of camera views and select them, the view doesn't change. What could cause this?

Most of today, I have not been able to download weather. Just wondering if the HiFi server is down ? Thought I would ask here before sending support ticket. Cannot even use previous weather, or even a weather theme, as it comes back with a warning box that no previous weather found. So no access to menus etc. Maybe the HiFi servers have had a melt down in the US heatwave.

I am currently have the basic CH Flight yoke, which has the TPM levers. 99% of my flying is Cessna 152/172/182. A few days ago I purchased the Iris Christen Eagle and today the RealAir Citabria/Scout/Decathlon. I would like to find a joy/flight stick to use with the new aircraft since the real ones don't use yokes. I am avoiding purchasing a separate quadrant, because if I did it would be the Saitek TPM and I don't have the funds for that yet. I would like any joystick that I purchase to have a TPM if possible, or at least the throttle & mixture. Rudders aren't an issue because I have the Saitek Cessna pedals. As a kicker, the cost should be below $100 US…

I just got the Aerosoft's Airbus and it would not load in fsx win 7 64 os. sometimes it does load and then fsx quits with a fatal error after like 10 min of flying. From their forum, it looks like this is happening to many folks running on win 7 64 bit os. Anyone here using their airbus on win 7 64 bit os without a problem or had a problem and found a solution?
