  1. All, I recently upgraded (finally) to FSX from FS2004. I freqently fly the Carenado V35B bonanza. Well the first thing I noticed is I have a new version of GPS in my new airplane, and boy it sure isn't as straight forward as the 200 series model in the FS2004 airplane. My biggest problem right now is I can't for the life of me figure out how to set the altitude hold on the autopilot or pull up the map to follow your flight plan. I've even downlaoded the manual but still haven't figured out how to do it. If anyone can point me in the right direction here I'd surely appreciate it!

  3. Been so long since I took lessons, I have forgot everything I might have ever learned. GA aircraft. I usually drop the flaps and gear (if applicable) when in the pattern, and then slowly feed in "up" trim. Is this the way it is done in real life? Gads, I can't even believe I have asked such a basic question but there you go...be kind, please.

While doing a de-frag I noticed some very large FRAPS files listed as movies and some as screenshots. After deleting them (39gbs) I looked at the FRAPS Settings. Well, the HotKeys for movies were F9 and screenshots F10. The same keys you use to go between views on FSX. I disabled them. However, on a new install/update they may be re-enabled.

I am addicted to the Lancair by RealAir Simulations. The simulated vibrations even down to the gauge needles is something to be seen! One question- I have recently tried flying at night and note that the panel lighting has some flood-lighting as well as gauge lighting- I have tried the various options for panel lighting intensity in the configuration window. Is there something that I am missing or is this the way it is? If so no problem- I just want to be sure I'm getting what is intended for panel lighting. I am turning this on with the switch in the lighting bank. Thanks, Bruce.

When I install UTX all the water areas around Miami are showing ground textures instead of water textures. This is with no airport added or anything else. When UTX removed all water textures appear where they should be. This has got me totally baffled. Any feedback or suggested solution appreciated.

  8. I am seeing something very strange with Real air's duke Turbine. I was OCing my new PC build and was checking out the stability of the system. The FSX was crashing after a couple of hours or so. So I was increasing the voltage a tad bit and running FSX and testing fo stability. Before going to bed, I started the duke trubine over KLAX and headed south east on Autopilot and went to sleep.. This morning I was hoping to see that the FSX had not crashed and the aircraft somewhere in the ocean or on the ground. Instead I see it over the gulf of Mexico still at 18K feet happily flying and the fuel is at 0. I thought maybe the fuel just got exhausted so I let it cont…

  9. 8 Hours ago I purchased the "Then&Now part 3" P-51 Mustang. Did i recive any downloadlink? NO! I payed via PayPal, and they took the money from my VISA, but how long do I have to wait for the downloadlink??? (Yes, I have checked the spam filter) Is this normal? Has anyone excperienced the same thing from Warbirdsim? I am used to get the downloadlink right away when I have payed for a product. But not in this case! I have also send 3 mails to Warbirdsim asking what the problem is, and still no response/answer. Crap! P. Ståhle

  10. Hi everyone,I'm trying to get a repaint done for me and family members of the fs2004 Carenado V35B bonanza. They owned a 1973 V35B Bonanza a few years ago and had to sell it due to financial reasons. They also lost their son, and my best friend during this time. It would mean a great deal to them to see Bonanza 830T flying again if only in a simulator. I have plenty of pictures of her and have attached one of the current fs2004 repaint I am using

  11. In fs2004 the pilot would say "bonanza 6229 is on final blah blah blah" however in fsx the pilot only announces the N number. How can I make it announce the aircraft type as well?

Hi All, I've been searching alot but not finding answers :) I'm going to buy the Saitek radio panel, it looks excellent. But on some planes, my radios are controlled by the GNS530. Is there anyone out there who have both of these? Will the Saitek panel still change the frequencies if the RXP is also linked to the radios? Does it update both ways etc or do you need to employ workarounds? Should I use the standard driver or should I get this SPAD driver that people have talked about? thanks

Reading the Flying Guide for the RealAir Turbine Duke mentioned that bump mapping may be turned off and suggested that you look out the wing to see if there is detail on the surface. Well, since I was about to moan about the exterior detail I looked at the wing and it indeed seemed to have little detail. Picture below. My video card is a nVidia GTX 550 with igb memory. Driver version is 301.42 i52500K 8gb memory, Windows7 64bit I have looked in nVidia Inspector and cannot see any specific "bump mapping" options. Nor are there any in the nVidia control panel. I turned on almost everything in Inspector but no change.

Hello, Can someone post some recommended settings for photoreal sceneries? I downloaded bluesky's photoreal CA and have done a couple flights with it. I must have something configured wrong as my frame rates with the photo scenery are about half what I get if I use GEX textures w/ autogen. I was getting about 15fps w/ CA photoreal enabled and when I disabled it, I jumped back up to my usual 30fps(locked). I thought photoreal was supposed to perform even better since you don't have any autogen being created? One thing I didn't do was actually turn autogen off as I still fly into non-photoreal areas too. Do I have to turn autogen off to see good performance? Shou…

I crashed about 2 min after takeoff while flying some freight out to a destination. FSX restarted the flight like it normally would. The question I have is that Airhauler didn't seem to notice, why? My aircraft condition was still at 100% and it seemed like it was going to let me just restart the flight as if nothing happened. Is there a setting I may have wrong. If I do something like overspeed the aircraft I notice damage to the airframe after the mission is over, but when I do something catastrophic to not make my destination it seems not to notice.

Hi Simmers As the title says I am looking for a great panel with a classic wood background, burl or birch, etc. Obviously this would probably come from an older classic aircraft. Tried a search but no luck so far, probably have to search via aircraft name. Aircraft size doesn't matter.. Any suggestions would be helpful. Just a wood lover. Thanks in advance.

  19. I know there are posts on this and I looked around a lot... however they all seem to have the same question and then abruptly end without answers. Is FSX capable of being darkened by enb series at night yet having a bright VC (using the NGX) bright taxi lights and overall night lighting environment? I tried the new xplane 10 for a bit and the night lighting environment is what I'm aiming for.

I have just installed a second Saitek throttle quadrant, which also has several banks of switches that can be assigned. I can see the new Saitek switches in FSUIPC, and FSX can see them, however EXCA is seeing that both of these quadrants have the same name and will only display one of them as active. Is there somewhere that I can change the name of the second Saitek quadrant- or is there some trick in EZCA that I'm missing? Thanks for any advice, Bruce.

As I was activating FSX today, I received a message as follows: "SCENERY.CONFIG file error. Local Scenery directory (Scenery\0006\SCENERY) in scenery Area.009 not found" Never saw anything similar to that before and have no idea what has happened. No changes to Flight Sim since I closed it yesterday and started up today. Does anyone have a possible solution to this problem? I'd appreciate any suggestions. Jack Fentress

  22. And ran into heavy snow. ?? (From Cody WY) Fun flight, but hardly realistic, hey? Went to the Weather Channel, and supposed to be 69 (F) and clear. I notice I am also getting quite a few cumulus clouds that are sitting on the ground. Maybe it's something I am doing wrong, but I have REXESS running before I start FSX, choose real world weather, launch with Shade. It's not something I am going to declare that FSX and REX are total scams over, and kill myself, but I do wonder what is going on?

I have a registered version of FSUIPC and have had no problems flying my planes. I today updated the PMDG 737 ngx SP1.c and now FSUPIC no longer responds. I have profiles saved in the past for each type of plane but the controls aren't responding in the aircraft. I try and click the "Profile Specific" box and when I click it, it immediately unchecks itself and will save no profiles. I have tried default aircraft as well not just the 737 and nothing will respond to the controls. I have also checked FSX controls to make sure no axises have gone back to default. Someone help please!

I currently have the PMDG NGX, and I can run it with pretty good frame rates wherever I want. From what I have read, the NGX has a reputation for being hard on the frame rates, so I'm happy my system can handle it. I've also heard the VRS Superbug is frame rate intensive- what kind of frames could I expect from the VRS Superbug if I can run the NGX at about 40 fps? How does it compare? GTX 570 HD 2.5GB, i7 2700k @ 4.3GHz, 16 GB RAM.

I have these street lights that are ugly huge! Not sure what addon went and did that. I need to adjust that back to being small. But my runway lights, approach, center, PAPI, etc are just fine. So the various light parameters within FSX.cfg thats for runway is an optionb for adjusting runway lights. But there isn't one for stree lights..is there? It's only the street lights that too the white/yellow ones that are offensive. The red/green traffic lights seem fine too. I have turned on UT Lights on. I have PNW Orbx. There is lights tool in Orbx but that does not change street lights in FSX as such.. maybe thats only for PNW area. Any ideas. Manny
