My brother is buying a new computer and he offered me his old gaming one to have. these are the specs; ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 -Intel® Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz 8 gigs of RAM and 500 gig disk space How would this system do with FSX?

Should I get the Area 51 C5 . I like this bird cuz my dad flies it so... My second option is the PIC Wilco 737.....I mean I like this cuz of different liveries and commercial. I need help....Whats the more bang ?

I have a new install of windows and I don't have fsx on it yet. I am also trying a new monitor configuration which means I will need to run in windowed mode and size the window to stretch across the different monitors. The question is, does fsx span the 3d cockpit view across all monitors when you do this? I would have just guessed yes but prepar3d does not and a question on their website was answered with a no. That makes me think that possibly FSX cannot either. Just to be clear, I want the entire 3d cockpit on all monitors. I know you can undock different instruments views etc and move them to different monitors but what about the one view? …

As of last night's flight I have passed the 100 hour mark in the 9 months I have been using PilotEdge online ATC services. My opinions are even stronger than when I wrote the AVSIM review article last year. This is truly one of the missing links for using the flight simulator to maintain a level of proficiency in flight operations AND radio communications. Just a couple weeks ago I did my biennial flight review and flew 6 approaches under the hood, the instructor (Heikki Julkunen of SkyCharts fame) commented on how comfortable I was with radio communications and he was quite surprised I hadn't flown in the system for over six months.

Good Evening, everybody knows in FSX when you want to switch a button in the aircraft .... you move your mouse, the coursor appears and click a button or something .... after that the mouse coursor dissappears .... this "Feature" works fine for me until i connect to Ivap ... after the connect to the networks my mouse coursor do not dissapear´s anny moar ..... means i can see the mouse the holy time until i dissconnect myself from Ivap ..... then everything went normal... ? i do not have a problem with it ..... but ..... when the mouse coursor is vissibly my framerate drops about 5 till 10 FPS in the NGX ..... and thats not the way i would like to fly .... i hope y…

Hi Was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. With the Boeings included with FSX i have learnt to fly autopilot by just using NAV HOLD, GPS and the A/P. I understand though with planes such as the wilco ones and probably thousands other using the autopilot is a lot more advanced and realistic. Can anyone please point me towards a tutorial which would help me understand the CDU, MCP and FMC properly in order to get the planes to fly autopilot. I have eben reading the wilco tutorial for the 777 but it seems to jump in a bit advanced for me. Was wondering if theres a better guide out there to help me with other planes which dont have…

Hi there, I am new to the forums and am very sorry if this question has been asked before but I could not find it. When I purchased my 747 package I had trouble getting it to work due to a corrupt cfg file. I ended up submitting a support ticket and the guys at PMDG sorted it out for me. My question is that if I was to reinstall fsx which I would like to do would my PMDG 747 work after reinstalling the package or would the cfg file be corrupt once again making me have to try and get the PMDG guys to fix it again? What does the white arrow on the ND display mean? It shows up randomly on certain parts of the flight plan path. I was thinking that it might mean the wind direction maybe?

I have recently purchased this excellent piece of software but the one problem that I have is getting the TGS Taxi Guidance system to work.I believe that I need to run the PFE Dispayer 'As Administrator' in order for it to work properly. Now,I have gone into the properties section of the PFE Displayer but I am unsure as to how to set this to run as administrator. I am wondering whether someone could walk me through the process. I have been using the PFE forum but despite their help I have still not been able crack the non working of this particular guauge. Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi all, anyone know what happened to FS2X? The ones that make the G1000 sim? I bought their gauge, now I can't email them to get my key, which I have lost..anyone know how I might get in touch with them? Thanks jake

Just making a post to say how impressed I am with their service. I've only purchased a few things from them, but recently I purchased FS Panel studio. Silly me thought I could edit gauges in the VC with it, but then found it only worked with the "window" section of panel.cfg. I should have done more research but asked or a refund because it didn't suit my specific need. They refunded me within a day, and on a Saturday! I'll be trying to buy through them when I can in future and might look into getting their Cessna Mustang soon too.

What are the red and green lights I see among the skyscrapers here in Seattle downtown. I use Orbx scenery here? Is something wrong? What could it be that I see here in the lower part of the outside view? Somekind of fog bar with a sharp boundary. Here something really must be wrong right. I used ASA weather.

Hi people. I've recently gotten the RealAir Turbine Duke and found it to be a well modelled aircraft. I've also started to look at online flying. I have some previous experiene with it and have some basic knowledge of the phraseology etc. Anyway, my question is, can I fly SIDs and STARs with the GNS530? Does it have a native support for them? The Duke manual mentions it as a possible replacement for the default GPS. What database does the 530 use, is it frequently updated? Thanks for the help.

My plan is to do a lot of UK cross country flying using VOR and visual navigation. Of course GPS assistance would be a bonus but Horizons VFR scenery removes the terrain feature in GPS which is a bit of a pain having spent so much money. I'm also open to other suggestions.

enhanced sounds and aircraft motion? I've heard really good things about it. It somehow changes the way aircraft behave on the ground and in flight without changing the FDEs, I believe it also adds realistic sounds and that sort of thing as well. Thanks!

I know there have been threads already about how nice the Legacy is. But I've had this little beauty for a few weeks now. It's getting harder and harder to fly anything else. It's just such a complete package. Not only is it beautiful and fast (because the original is beautiful and fast), but it brings all the things you want in an addon aircraft together into one package. It's easy on framerates. It has a beautiful VC in which not only is every knob or button clickable, but hovering over gauges gives you the kind of useful info that is sometimes hard to see, even with nice size monitors, like IAS and TAS when hovering over the airspeed indicator. Hi, Flight 1's Ultimate Traffic 2 is on sale for the week over on their website. To the people who use this program, how much traffic is there? I'm currently running Just Flight's Traffic X with around 15-30% Airliner and GA traffic, and at a major airport the traffic drops to around 5 aircraft at most times. If I got UT2, would there be more traffic on these settings? Thanks in advance,
