Strange issue here, my 2D panels in every airplane are slightly distorted. Symptoms are that the instruments and labeling and such for switches are hard to read because of the slight distortion. There are no other problems. This occurs in DX9 mode, but DX10 preview fixes it. However I'd rather run in DX9. Any thoughts? Hello all. I'm a long time FSX player. I am trying to help a friend with a real pussler of a view problem It is baffling me. He is running windows 7 on a good computer. He flys mostly G.A. No problem in 2d cockpit. If he goes to Virtual cockpit, then the HAT switch gives good views panning.both up and down AND side to side whilst sat at the airport. Now, when he switches on the engines he cannot view side to side- it stutters and only goes a little way. The Up /dpwn panning is fine. Strange eh? The calculation is obviously not difficult, but today my brain refuses to work; the more i think about this, the more tangled im getting... Lets say im taking off from KORD (GMT -6), flying to KSFO (GMT -8). Assuming the flight is 8 hours, what time should i take off to land at KSFO 13:00 local time? How would i work this out for any flight, such as to land at EGLL (GMT 0) at 0930 from HECA (GMT +2).

I am flying the HD Redux of the default Grumman Goose out of Victoria Harbor in the Vic+ scenery upgrade. Taxiing at max throttle with the yoke (actually logitec 3D Extreme joystick) pulled all the way back. With aircraft realism settings set to maximum it doesn't taxi for long before I get a SPLASH and the flight resets. I have tried many combinations of throttle and yoke with the same result. I have tried it with and without the wingtip floats lowered. If I reduce the realism to medium then it takes off with ease. Is this an artifact of this plane's config file, or is there something I am missing in the takeoff procedure? Robert Spaans

First of, I am new to this program and I have looked at two PDF's but still not sure what is going on. I seem to have configured it up to give me live weather but am currently at LOWI and the weather doesn't seem to be changing. I used the the "Update Weather" button but nothing seems to be happening. Could anyone give me some clues? Sorry for the silly question as well.

I'm just wondering if this is normal with 2 different questions..... Seems like the nose of the plane is light a lot of the time. The nose will lift off the runway near 100kts or bounce a few times off the runway and tire screech near and past this speed. I can avoid this lift off and further down the runway with elevator down but this doesn't seem proper. Also, after the takeoff count down is done you are suppose to set the throttle to the bugged TLA 15.5 degrees, how do I do this? Hitting F1 seems to shut throttle fully off.

I purchased FSUIPC on simarket. Once I download and install FSUIPC it tells me in order to register it I need to re-run the installer. So I did that and I guess it re-installs it again and at the end it asks you to register it. I did that as well and when I go back to the sim and go to FSUIPC settings in the add-on menu, it still says its unregistered!! How do I properly register it? Do I need to uninstall it first? (I have no idea how to uninstall it either because there is no uninstaller in the Windows software list in the Control Panel!)! Thank you!

These are 2 of my favorite commercial planes. I know Captainsim 777 is probably the best one you can get, but I also heard that PMDG is about to release their own 777? If that's true I am very excited and can't wait to get my hands on it. PMDG planes are extremely detailed and I love it! I really wish they made the 787 as well. Does anyone know what the best 787 is? Something that is on par with or above the PMDG's models?

Hi! I have a question concerning the installation of the SDK. I have all the necessary and correct files but since my FSX isn't installed in the default path, but in C:/FSX, what is the correct path to install the SDK in? I already tried it with the default setting (Program Files/Microsoft Games...) but thereafter, I couldn't find the simconnect files (User/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX) which I need for AS 2012 and REX Latitude to work. OS on FSX machine is Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Folks.. Came across REX Lattitude today from an advert here, and after taking a look at it for a bit, from what I can tell, it looks a bit like a Virtual Airline, VATSim, FSFSPro, and FS Captain, with real cash involved.... Does say it needs 15GB for install though.. Anybody tried it yet? Looks REALLY in depth, but what the heck do I know, I get lost @ 500ft within 10 miles of my own house..

Hi guys, I was just seeking some info about Opus FSX via Google and came accross this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/389134-i-paid-over-40-for-this/ And not talking about the clouds or weather, I saw how beautiful that plane looked, beautiful reflections on the body of the plane! I haven't seen this in FSX really. Is there any add-on that makes this look so beautiful or is that an add-on included with that plane if it's an add-on plane at all? I'd like to have my planes look like that too, anybody know what it is?

I am wondering if a configuration like this is currently possible with the software and, if so, what would that configuration look like? And, what would be the effects or drawbacks of a configuration like this if it is possible? I understand that a lot of people on here want realism everywhere they are during their flight. Opus does this very well. Ok, does anyone know what the best settings are for airliner/NGX high altitude type flying to stop getting almost literally spun around and falling out of the sky? I just departed from ESSA en route to EKCH using historic weather. I read somewhere earlier to check all options in the GRIB section(sorry, I don't remember what they all are right now but they are all checked) on the weather download options dialogue screen. My wind shifts on climb were worse than ever. Switching from 350/80 to 190/80 almost instantly. At my home airport of KIAH, there are two parallel runways for takeoff 15L/R and three parallel runways for landing 26 L/R and 27. I have the AFCAD set up to properly reflect this with 15 L/R setup for takeoff only and 26 L/R and 27 for landing only. THe problem is that for takeoff ATC will only ever assign runway 15 L which creates a huge traffic jam. I suspect it is because 15 R is farther away from all of the parking spots, but I would like to have ATC use both runways. For landing ATC only uses 26R and 27, and never lands planes on the center runway 26L.... My question is how can I fix this?

Hi Gents, I am looking for some really good Caribbean Scenery for FSX. Any recommendations? I am surprised no one has taken up the challenge to do a complete Caribbean scenery package. Personally, my top candidates for doing this would be Orbx or Flytampa but since that hasn't happened as yet, can anyone point me to a few good Caribbean airport sceneries?

I was just looking at the list being generated for top ten add-ons and I noticed that FSUIPC was at the top, or near the top, of the majority of lists. My question is why ? I just purchased a yoke, after years of HOTAS joystick, and am curious as to the importance of FSUIPC. I've always had it in my sim but it's the unregistered version. What would I benefit by purchasing it outright ? Thanks, jime

I am very confused about the AP on the RV7. I have the ALT mode set to hold my current altitude. But then halfway through the flight, it seems that the ALT mode is not holding my altitude anymore. The VS does not work either. It works fine in the beginning of the flight then it seems it just dies. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong or any tips. Thanks John

Hello everyone, As I fly in Europe and Holland mostly, I never had any need for a mesh add-on really, because the landscape is so flat. I do own most of the "must-have" add-ons though: PMDG, GEX, REX, UTX, etc, but as I'm planning to fly around more "mountainy" areas I'm just looking for a good mesh add-on. Because sometimes when you're flying around really steep mountains, it just looks really bad. Sometimes even, the sides of the mountains point directly virtical and all you're looking at is a pile of green and grey stripes.
