I installed Bojote's Shader 3.0 mod v.1.6. Is anyone using it? If someone does - Why? I'm asking you because i don't find any big difference.. I noticed that my water looks dark at night (finally) and that's pretty much it!.. Also, lately i get an FPS drop when passing through clouds.. I is possible that it's due to the Shader 3?

I am getting a bit tired of the old fsx scenery look. I decided to check out rex. Is it a big difference between the default scenery and REX? I really would like to make FSX look much better in any way possible, and would like to hear your opinion. and also, what is improved? Everything? or just a few things? -fsxpilot737

OK so I recently noticed this while flying. There seems to be almost a 'box' folling my aircraft where ever I fly. Inside the box the textures look different then the rest of the world. Especially the water. I noticed this because the water almost looks GREEN sometimes. Has anyone got any idea what is going on? photo sharing sites I have more pics. The it should be clearly visible what I am referencing to. This follows my plane everywhere. Thanks, Ivo

Hi guys I used to have a license for the old cockpit sharing gates.to program but after a long break from simming I see they've not gone down the pipe. Since I've moved to FSX now I was wondering if there's any program out there that let's you share your cockpit while on the likes of VATSIM. For anyone who doesn't know what gates.to was, you could have your friend run the program and you could basically both fly and control the same aircraft.

I was hoping to get some recommendations for some more realistic ATC packages that would best fit my uses. I pretty much stick to GA VFR/IFR flights...both short local area flights and longer cross country flights. I don't tend to do much airliner "heavy" stuff. Realism is the most important. I prefer the real human voices instead of the pieced together robotic-sounding voices. But if the majority of you recommend one of the packages with robot voices then thats a small sacrifice for realism. Simpler to setup and use instead of a humongous manual would be a good thing too! This is a general question. In a twin engine jet GA Aircraft where the engine sync switch has two positions marked turbine and fan, when would you use one over the other? I'm thinking the Citation CJ-1.

Hey Gang, The latest 'restore' of the Avsim forum files lost everything to do with the discussion we were having about finding a 'Super Coder' to work on a magic box that would capture the necessary file structure and/or keystrokes to get the Reality XP GPS units to read default FSX Flight Plans. I am running 6 monitors on 2 GTX690's and need to force FSX to open in windowed mode. When I hit fly it crashes. Not an issue in X-Plane because it opens in a window. What can I put in the fsx.cfg to force FSX to launch in a window? Can't find a post with a similiar issue. Any ideas would be great. Thanks, /jim

Hi I've had FSXfor a long time but not really got into it until the demise of Flight. One thing I'd always missed compared with military sims was interacting with a functional world with other aircraft doing things and going places. FSX AI just seemed to wander about aimlessly. Now I have a new PC, a reinstall of FSX with DX10 and higher settings, some good 3rd-party aircraft and scenery, and suddenly, in just one location I get lots of ATC controlled AI traffic landing, taking-off and transitting. FSXDB.com has been updated! I have created a Aircraft Checklist App. Currently it has all the default FSX Aircraft amd many more popular aircraft for a total of 70 aircraft checklist. It's very similar to a comercial fsx utility only THIS IS FREE. Will be adding a "print" view in a day or so.

Hello all FSX pilots I would like some help from you guys. I haven't been flying for about 2 years now, but now it's time to line up for takeoff again :-) I want to make my FSX as close to reality as possible, can you help me with that? I need suggestions for the most real addons on the market. Airport scenery, terrain scenery, VATSIM, Fs2crew for example. Simply all of the things I need to make it as real as it can be. Payware or freeware does'nt matter. Suggestions for aircraft addons not needed since the only aircraft I will be operating is the PMDG 747, and the PMDG T7 when it's released. Could someone clear this up for me. I see some add-ons requiring SP2 and some Acceleration. Now before I install FSX, do I do it in the following order: Btw I have FSX Deluxe version. 1. Install FSX 2. Update to SP1 3. Update to SP2 4. Install Acceleration Can you have both SP2 and Acceleration installed? I'm confused.

Hello All! I recently purchased FB KPHX, however even though the Addon manager shows it activated, there are no buildings. I have restarted FSX twice, both times to no avail. Any help? -abasa12

Can anyone who actually has a current version of this add-on comment about it's current functionality and any bug status? I've read the original review back in June, and an update in October where there still appeared to be diverse opinions as to it's functionality. I am also in the process of reading a review here at AVSIM. I might be a potential customer if it offerred any substantial advantage over even the default FSX ATC. I have used MS Voice-Pak to customize my FSX ATC and currently use the "European" format which although it refers to "Center" as "Control", it also offers some randomized common courtesies between AI and ATC, which is often present in the RW.…

Hi folks, I decided to try FSX again after 6 months of going back and forth between FSX and FS9. I still enjoy both and after doing the BP=0 tweak, I'm enjoying FSX a lot more than I did before. I followed the steps that David Roch posted on this forum but I'm still a little confused about VSync. He said to turn it off in nHancer or Inspector but didn't mention it can be turned on in the fsx cfg file by doing the ForceFullScreenVSync=1 tweak. Will the BP=0 tweak work if I enable VSync from the cfg? This were my settings before BP=0 fsx.cfg= only Highmemfix applied. AA, AF and VSync done in Inspector. FOlks, I managed to install VASFMC etc etc etc blah blah blah. I wanted it into my Project Airbus A319 which uses the defualt 321 panel, I WANT THIS. I DO NOT WANT THE VASFMC PANEL! So, i go into my cockpit, and boom, the MCDU is loaded as a pop up. But its not turned on. How do i turn it on? its just a black screen... I try turning the power off and on again, but nothing, just blanked out, no text etc. Any help would be fantastic! Thanks! -Andy

In case you're like me and enjoy flying to precision minimums.... I recommend going to skyvector.com. Make sure "Text Weather Icons" is set in the upper right hand corner (layers button). http://skyvector.com/ It's map/METAR function gives a nice broad view of weather at airports with METAR reporting stations. What you do is zoom far out until you start seeing the colored dots on the map. Purple is LIFR (low ifr - less than 1mi vis and less than 500 ft cigs), red is IFR, blue is MVFR (marginal vfr 3-5 mi vis 1000-3000ft cigs), and green is good VFR weather. I am testing several FSX addons and have my dll.xml set up for manual loading of each one When I start FSX I get the desired message asking if I want to run the addon? - I reply YES Then I get the desired message that asks if I want to make this a trusted addon? - I reply NO After FSX crashes due to the addon - I find the addon is listed in the [TRUSTED] section of fsx.cfg I then have to delete the multiple lines in [TRUSTED] so I can start FSX without the addon HOW do I prevent fsx from adding the UNTRUSTWORTHY addon to the [TRUSTED] section of fsx.cfg? WHAT A DEAL!!!!!!! Ha....I bet there was a few that clicked just to see a rant. Well, nope, not at all. I can't believe the night and day difference! This combined with REXE for textures is just wow. I have never used a dedicated WX engine before, and I am now sad about never having experienced it before. Here is what made my jaw drop. As you may know...a big difference from using the built in FSX real world weather....and going to this!!! Thank you OPUS team!
