MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum

I know using two different terrain mesh installations sounds pointless, but I am wondering if FS Genesis and FS Global Americas installed together will cause any issues. The reason I'd like to do this is I only have The Americas from FS Global, but much much more from FS Genesis. I figure that FS Genesis will take over when I'm out of the Americas range- is this a correct assumption? Also, for the areas that are covered by both, FSX will render the highest detail resolution, be it FS Genesis or FS Global. Is this correct? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas!

Is there a utility to allow you to organize the FSX aircraft selection window into categories rather than alphabetically? For example, lets say I want to organize all of my vintage aircraft or my airliners into groups and select from those groups? RDS

I've got a server at home which i am hoping to use for running add-ons for FSX along with my main gaming PC which runs FSX. The server specs are: Xeon E3-1290 32Gb RAM an old fanless Nvidia card no monitor attached Running ESXI server It wont be able to run anything graphic intensive but I think it has enough oopmh to run something like weather and traffic? ATM i have UT2 and REX Essentials.

Inside a hanger, or parking spots outside the hangers? Thinking mostly Orbx airports and/or regions. It's probably simple, but I don't have a clue. Also, how do I pick a seaplane runway?

Hi all, I was following a thread about acheiving turbulence with the A2A upgrade and one member listed recommended tweaks for FSXcfg settings. It sounded like fun so I changed my settings. I flew a Mooney M18 "mite" out of KMMV and looked for wind. I was over mountains after a pretty tame flight at 5500 and whamm! my little plane was kicked and twisted and I was rocketed upward at 320 knots ( according to my flight info using Shift+Z ) and my engine gave out and died. I was still speeding all over the sky and I couldn't get the plane to slow down. I was grateful it was a simulation because it was a violent ride and I kept expecting the plane to split apart but so…

All WILCO/Feelthere products，including 320、737、145、190， when i load it to fly . then FSX shows an error message : unknown software exception (0xc000000d)， I uninstall and reinstall FSX again and again , but it still that ! I think the problem is about regedit , but i don't know what to do. My PC is FSX WIN XP 32. Thanks for your help ! i don't want to give up FSX !

Hi Folks My AP is exhibiting some strange behaviour. I'm sitting on the ground and engage just the AP (without selecting the HDG, ALT, APR buttons etc) and the Pitch Trim Wheel starts adjusting by itself. Once I select and deselect the ALT button, it stops doing this and subsequent AP on and off doesn't cause this to happen. This is likely the reason I couldn't control the elevator with only HDG hold selected with the AP engaged earlier. Is this normal? I don't recall it behaving like this before. Cheers, Al

Hello All! Does anyone know of a freeware ground scenery for Phoenix, Arizona that is freeware? I only ask because I bought FB Phoenix and I love it, but the scenery ends right at the perimeter fence, for the most part. It's an awesome scenery, and I would love a ground scenery to complement it. I couldn't find the link (it didn't work) for the Blue Sky Scenery Phoenix, and I'm not looking to buy MSX. Any freeware Arizona (w/ night textures) textures or just Phoenix textures for the ground? Thank you all so much! -abasa12

Okay, does anyone know why my clouds flicker on and off? I'm pretty sure it has to do with the order of my scenery packages and add-ons. I'm just sitting on the runway at FlyTampa's Kai Tak and notice this. It's distracting.

I kinda understand how it works. But lets say you look up to view the overhead you would be looking up at the ceiling so you wouldnt be able to see the screen which would be showing the overhead?

Are there any freeware weather engines available for FSX that are worth the install and improve on the default weather? RDS

Hi folks. I'm still getting to grips with FSX, but there is something I have found that I want to check on. It's to do with the default routes loaded by the standard FSX flight planner, and whether it's possible to update them to be more realistic. To explain, most of the flights I am doing are IFR short-haul hops from UK based airports to either mainland Europe, EIDW/AA or internal flights. These may be anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, so several in a day, I do quite a lot of flight planning. What I've seen is that the routes FSX generates by default for a lot of the UK traffic pattern is the complete opposite to that performed in real life, and…

Today, flew southern in Indiana to the next town over Illinois border in short flight with Stereo 3d in Carendo C-172, and got about 25 fps. I used passive 3dtv Vizio 42in with tridef and amd hd7750 card with interfaced display. If you want to fly low and slow with photo real scenery its awesome in stereo 3d with mega earth 2.0. At 2000 agl you can get illusion the that overpass are on freeways like X-plane, and the trees pop-out. Photo scenery with right setup and tricks who needs autogen anyways. Get out or Nivida 3d or Amd hd3d out looks good.

I'm looking for a 767 with a good vc pmdg or carenado quaily I have the captain Sim 76 but the vc looks very aged

Anytime I fly a jet aircraft in FSX the logbook does not record the ICAO code of my originating airport, sometimes it will record neither the origination or the destination code. I have scrubbed the logbook for errors using FSXLogRecovery but it still doesn't record the originating airport. Are there any other utilities available to fix this problem? Is it a known bug in FSX? Are there any 3rd party logbooks that can be added on to FSX? Appreciate any info...tm

I have this fps drop,i have used non hd texture and with hd texture still drops. With As2012 i got normal fps around 30~35 No problem with other plane, i have refunded once because of this and brought it back agin which is just now( miss the clouds so much) Can any1 help me?

hey simmers, i am using Opus some time now and i have to say that this addon is one of the best i own. now as you can see in the vid below at around 2 min in the vid, i am on final app with an nice headwind of 5 knots. around 30 seconds later this all changes ... now i have a crosswind of 25 knots! it is pushing the plane to the left and screws up the actual landing itself. :wacko: i got the latest version of opus installed and did a fresh install twice now. Anyone else has this problem aswell or has an answer. ty and greetings!

Hello people, I have created a group called 'Virtual Heritage Squadron' on Facebook. I have been to the IWM at Duxford many times and as you guys will know they have a group called ' The Fighter Collection '. I wondered why there is not a virtual version of this amazing group, so I decided to create one based in FSX. We fly from RAF Marham and currently have in our collection a Vulcan, two Lightnings, a Mosquito, a Blenhiem, a Sabre. We aim to make single aircraft display videos, a type of video we call ' Inside the Cockpit ' and full airshow videos with all of our collection flying.
