Question: I DO NOT want to add MY Traffic or any other traffic add on to my sim.... I have it fully loaded of add ons and I dont want to mess it up or take a performance hit. However, when I arrive at my favorite airports in North America.... Im the only plane there (I have all traffic sliders @ 0%). So all the gates at the airports bellow (all add ons) are empty gates.... 1- All FSDT titles 2- All Fly Tampa titles 3- Some Imagin Sim titles Is there a way that I can permanently park different livery planes at gates so when I arrive I see a fuller airport? I DO NOT want them to move or have scheduled routes... I just want them to sit there and look pretty…

So, since August 7th, 2012 it was announced that the a/c manuals are available and that we should buy them for $389.00 ( or better say $400.00) so we can learn to fly this a/c. Wow, what a price, eh? Are we also going to be offered a check-ride and graded by the FAA? jejeje So, shouldn't this a/c be out by now? I mean...if the manuals have been offered for such a looong time, I was hoping the a/c itself would be complete and out by now. Talk to me!

Flying from Alaska airport, day raining, 4 degrees C, 8 knot cross wind. Takes off fine, throttle back to 30inHg and feather prop to 2.3k rpm. Shortly after this dusty bird starts dropping, pitching more elevator or trim doesn't help. Nears stall point. Throttle up the 35inHg, same prop rpm, better but can barely get to 1000feet altitude and that is using mountain ridge lift. Got prop deice on and set carb heaters to about 30 degrees C. Full rich was on the whole time too. This thing was barely flying. I did have 1/2 the cargo bay full (doing an Air Hauler run) but fuel was very little at 300gallons. I did eventually make it to my destination but it was a struggle…

Hi. I'm looking for a few opinions here on my harddrive setup. I see where the AVSIM Hardware and Software Guide for FSX highly recommends that FSX not be put on the C Drive. I've seen others (i.e. PC Pilot mag) recommend that FSX should be put on the C Drive as it would normally be. Also, is an SSD recommended for whatever drive FSX is on? Any comments from others on here would be appreciated regarding what has worked best for you. Thanks, Jeff Smith

As I look around the VC of many FSX planes, seems roughly 50% at best is functionally working. Is there any pay or free ware airliner plane that has every single button, switch, lever and knob working?

Hi, my current method for descent is using V/S while flying along VORs. I usually start to descend using V/S at about 100-130nm out. However, I do not set speed/altitude in the "Legs" page, next to each VOR. (Example: VOR 250/FL200) How do I get what speed/altitude I should be doing for each VOR? Once I set the right Speed/Altitude, will it descend automatically and change speed automatically? If it does I need VNAV enabled right?

I'm pretty sure the answer to this one is you 'can't'. Does anyone know of a way to Hold in FSX using default ATC? I have my own 737-800 cockpit, and my FMC would allow me to program a holding pattern, say on approach at the last VOR in my flight plan. The problem is of course that as soon as I enter a holding pattern, ATC will tell me to turn back to my original heading, and if I don't do so will cancel my IFR flight plan. Just wondered if anyone knows of a way around this? I know I could just cancel my flight plan, and make my own approach, but don't really want to do that, as I like to be under ATC control. Hi guys, I'm working on my VA, and i have a finished painted CRJ700 texture folder. But i have searched everywhere, and can't find a Posky CRJ700 wich has the default CRJ virtual cockpit. A question aimed mainly at Acronis users I guess, as I'm trying it out. I have FSX and addons installed to it's own separate hard drive. This means that although the addon itself is separate, I notice the licence data for most addons goes into the operating system on drive C: Would I be correct therefore, in asumming that when backing up FSX with Acronis, then I must also backup drive C at the same time? Any more backup info welcome. Ta!

I am looking for a good helicopter for FSX Gold. I had DODOsim Bell206 for fs2004, and fsx long ago, but I might consider getting it back again. I see they now also have the Huey, an helicopter I am eagerly waiting to be released for DCS World. Are they still the best (physics-model wise...) offers for FSX in the rotary wing class?

Hey Guys, I found this very useful tool on some other forum, it really helped improving my landing technique. Quote: "A SimConnect application to help repeated landing training in various weather conditions, and analyze and evaluate your landing data." That is all, but it saves you soooo much time! Just choose an airport and runway, set up weather and you´re set. It analyzes all kinds of data (flare distance, approach angle, vertical speed, and so on) Oh, almost forgot to mention: It´s free!!!! Hi all, after years of taking a break from Flight Sim, I have recently got back into the hobby. I immediately started noticing airports with runways that had ILS which does not align with the runway. The ILS has me landing in the grass next to the runway. This only happens at some runways.. Maybe because FSX is so old maybe the magnetic headings shifted or something? I downloaded the update magnetic variation, but it didn't seem to help. I also read about manually editing the airport with an airport editing utility, but I don't have the deluxe version of FSX so no SDK, which makes me unable to edit anything. Each time I use FSX the fsx.cfg in C:\Users\Ray\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX is replaced with a new one. The one I want to use is named FSX.CFG. Is the fact that its FSX.CFG and not fsx.cfg that is causing this to happen?

Windows 7 with SP1, and FSX with SP2 + Acceleration. 8GB RAM and nVidia GTX580 with driver v314.07. Have "WideViewAspect=True" set in FSX.cfg. I modified the C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Cameras.CFG file to set the virtual cockpit zoom to 1.0, which seems to be the recommended value for my 16x10 Dell Monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200 with WideViewAspect set to True. When I start a flight, the VC zoom is set to 0.70, no matter what aircraft or other flight settings I enable. The "initialZoom" setting does not appear to have any effect. What is the problem? I have seen a few videos on the internet and some of the planes have the cockpit lights off and the instrument panel lights on - it seems like the way a pilot would fly at night. Is this an add-on or do some planes do this and others don't? I can't seem to find how to do it. Thanks!

I'm not bragging, but flying my little CRJ setup is really fun. I use Project Magenta software I bought when it first came out (PM was organized enough, bless them, to still have record of my purchases) and some old laptops I had sitting around (after I had passed them down to all my kids after I upgraded and they returned them as they upgraded). Now if I can just figure out what to do with the engine display on the right (no keypad means I can't figure out how to scale it up).
