Hello, I have a few questions about FS RealTime: 1) When using FS RealTime on a networked pc only do I need to install it on the main FSX PC as well? (I surmise it should always be installed on the main pc first as I think it drops some bgl files in some folders, pls correct me if I'm wrong). 2) When FS RealTime is installed on the main pc it creates an area/layer in the scenery.cfg. Where is the right place of it in relation to the my addon scenery layers and the stock fsx layers? Thanks, Dirk.

Hi guys, I have just completed a flight from Zurich into Gatwick and during descent the darkness of dusk was replaced with a much lighter sky, which looked extremely unrealistic. Any ideas fellas? Cheers

Im putting a S TEC System 20 autopliot on my plane and wanted to practice in the simulator with eaither a S TEC 20, 30, 40,50,or 55. Any plane for FSX has this kind of autopilot?

If you use Historical Weather often, what is your favorite weather engine to use for Historical Weather? Just like alot of people here, I like OpusFSX alot. Unfortunately, OpusFSX only offers the last 24 hours for historical weather (Unless of course they've changed that with a recent update...they come up with updates so frequently that sometimes its hard to keep up! And thats a good thing ).

Does anyone know why my English/French coast might look like this and how to fix it?? Theres also a funny perfectly square piece of land right next to corfu as well which im sure isnt supposed to be there Cheers

Hey all fellow pilots, I am looking for an app for my iPad to be used for Charts, calculations, weather, basically as a kneeboard for myself to use in FSX and possibly RW. I see tons of apps in the app store, and all of them advertise the same things. Which ones are the best, and what do you suggest for me? I will be most likely starting my RW flight training in the next year, and if possible would like to use whatever app I get now, for that. I do have an AOPA account and was looking at the FlyQ apps, but I do not have 170.00 to spend for a 12-month membership. Thanks in advance!

AVG has just reported 2 files have been infected by fsx_slew.exe/_fsx_slew.exe/ or something like that. Pretty close. I had not done a scan beforehand but I've only just turned on DX10 to have a look. I'm wondering if they're false positives. Please God, be false positives. Jon

When I go to Settings then Scenery Library as you know there's a list of places, I also have some add ons showing there. They are all checked. Should I leave them all checked? When I add on of the listed items, it takes me to a FSX Scenery Directory. Down below there's also a Cache box and a use this screen directly box. What do I do with all that?

Are there any CRJ base models out there that work for FSX AI traffic? I have almost given up looking. All the models that used to work in FS9 AI traffic for me (e.g. TFS, Opensky) all do not work with FSX.

Hey guys, below are some pics on the textures i get in the USA. I primarily fly in Europe and mostly use photoreal scenery or VFR scenery (France VFR, ORBX England, VFR Germany), and get no problems at all. However i recently started flying in the USA again (got accepted in virtual airline) and did a flight out of Chicago using Chicago X scenery and default fsx airport. The images were very blurry and detail was horrible. Building will appear but the streets and grass are all blurry. I cant upload images because it says im not permited to upload this kind of file. Also my specs are here: Intel core i5 2500K @ 4.5ghz (when playing fsx i get between 45c and 65c for temp.).…

I'm having quite a few glitches in trying to fly missions in FSX, mainly those associated with Acceleration. Is this the correct place to discuss those? One that is especially troublesome is that I have no communication at all with anyone - atc, the carrier, the lso, etc. The briefing for the carrier tutorial mission, for example, speaks of messages coming from the LSO during the final approach to the trap. But there is nothing - no text message, no audio. I'm sure it must be something I have not set up properly, but at this point I haven't found what it might be. Hey folks, I just did reattached my Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant ans Pedals agaion after about 3 months of inactivity. But now I´ve encountered an serious problem: My whole Thrpottle Quadrant doesn´t work. The green light is illuminated but neither ingame nor in the properties window the levers respond to anything. It just shows that they´re in full reverse and all buttons pressed. Anyone an clue how to fix this? Btw if this is the wrong forum, I appologize. I wasn´t here for about 6 months or so.

Hi, I've a strange problem with the rudder. I've have CH Pro pedal installed but when i use Carenado aircrafts (it only happens with those aircrafts) even though i press pedal completely to the right or to the left, the rudder almost doesn't move. It works perfect with other aircrafts. Any idea? Many thanks and best regards

I downloaded Capt Sim C130, but when I select the aircraft in FSX this is the screen I get: If I click OK, this is the screen I get: If I click the "Close" option, FSX does a CTD. I've got loads of payware aircraft on the PC, including 3 other Capt Sim aircraft, all work fine. I've downloaded it 3 times now, taking all the usual precautions, UAC off, Anti virus off (for download and install), explorer not chrome, Admin rights, etc, but this happens every time. Had no luck on Capt Sim forum, thought I'd try here, in case someone recognizes the screens, and maybe has a suggestion. Eugene

I installed FSX SP-2. Now when I fly over Lake Michigan what was lake is now land - my first thought is to uninstall and re-install FSX, but before I did that I thought I would ask on the forum if others have had a similar issue. Thank you.

How do you check the FPS during the various stages of the flight? What is a good number to shoot for?

I found a freeware for 2004, but I would like to use it in my FSX Game, would it work?

I wonder if anyone can help me with a major problem I am having in FSX? Basically I get pretty good fps (28-35) in the VC of the NGX using ASE, REX, GEX a small amount of UT2 AI. When I am on approach at about 2000-3000 feet I get a really bad drop in fps from about 25 right down to 8-12. As I said this only happen on the final part of approach and last about until I have parked at the gate where it will usually shoot back up to 25-35. I am using a pretty powerful computer, i7 2600K, GTX570, 16GB RAM. Why do I get such an fps hit on approach? Andy S

Hi everyone, has anbody any ideas why when I change from 3D cockpit veiw to 2D cockpit veiw my frame rates drops from 30 to 40 fps in 3D, to 12fps 2D, Below are my flight Sim PC build specs. Hi everyone, I have seen some stuff on Sim PhysicsX lately. I was going to get it, however, I'm thinking that there would be conflicts with AccuFeel land air and sea V2 and Opus? I don't use any of the head movement in Opus however. From what I see, I can only disable the accufeel once the AC is loaded. I may be wrong here, as I've not tinkered too much with that if it can be done. I don't want to uninstall it yet until I've seen what Sim PysicsX can do first. Any suggestions you may have? I'm almost ready for pushback, then FSX switches to the desktop and tells me Active sky has stopped working. I try reopening AS, but it stops working immediately. I also have REX ess. and Opus installed, but neither is working. Rex is stopping right away and Opus just gives me an error message (See att.). I have rebooted my computer, reinstalled AS, REX and Opus. But stil the same.... I have not installed anything or done any changes to my computer that may cause this, it had been working fine all day.. Thor
