As everyone knows, FSX has a real world weather setting that allows two options. The first is to download a static version of the real world weather at the time the flight is started; the second option, is similar to the first but instead it downloads the real world weather data every 15 minutes from Microsoft's servers. I was wondering, how FSX handles the change in weather when the 15 minute weather update setting is turned on. Does the changed weather pop? Does a fast transition? or does a gradual transition to the updated weather. Also, does the 15 minute updating of weather settings slow down FSX in terms of FPS during flight? Hi simmers, I just took the plunge into the sim world - got myself a cheap copy of FSX and a joystick and I've a 'fairly decent' PC and here's my question - Do any of you know of some good tutorials that take you from switch on, until landing? That show the whole sequence of events e.g. deciding destination, picking a route, programming it in, setting radios, taxi, take off, how to navigate and land? I've followed some of the lessons in FSX and taking off, landing etc is fine but I'm lost when I have to start thinking about IFR flight etc. Thanks very much in advance, Ezuna

Hello, I Have a small question about AI aircraft: Is it possible to remove the limit of distance around airports that AI aircraft can travel before disappearing? Thank you for your help.

Is there any add on that makes rain look good? I have REX but I think it doesn't change rain. It looks like a line coming down from the sky.

Alright so I currently own the PMDG 737NGX and for FPS I have it locked around 20. It tends to sit more around 14-18 FPS though on the ground. I get no stutters though and it appears as though the flying is very fluid and nice. I was wondering if it would be the same, worse, or better with the Airbus X Extended add-on, which I am considering. ~Thanks

I recently got FRAPS because I wanted not only to record more than a few seconds of FSX flight but also wanted to share some of it with others. Is there anyone out there who uses this program? I loaded it up (v3.5.9), and thought I had it set correctly (not a lot to set, is there?) until I started up FSX and loaded the default Cessna 172. I set the hot-key at the '1' key (top of keyboard, not numpad), and so with the 172 sitting there cold & dark, I hit the hot-key and went about switching everything on and starting the engine. I know that Aerosoft always releases new airport enhancement services pack with new airports supported, but I don't know why Taxi2Gate haven't made support for AES with their new Bratislava Airport. I bought GSX (Ground Services X), because I believed with that will work as a dream, and did, until several clicks.Because, I have to run my FSX in compatibility mode (XP) if I do not then FSX crashes. I have the proper version of uiautomationcore.dll with FSX can run smooth and without crashes. BUT the GSX can't run with compatibility mode enabled. I asked them how to run in that mode but they said: " I should not run in compatibility mode" but trust me, I must. My FSX always…

What are your reasons you fly in your sim? Or in other words, in each flight you do, what is your on set purpose you want to accomplish in the flight that gives you pleasure or satisfaction?

I m waiting for my new Thrustmaster HOTAS WARTHOG, and I want to have the fuel valves that are located underneath the throttles on to the switches on the Hotas Throttle. I would like to know what they are called in FSX so I can assign them. MB

I'm having a weird problem in Airbus X Exntended with EZDOK and TIR views in VC. All views work, and I think I did everything that was suggested in different threads on using EZDOK with AXE. My problem though is that everytime when I switch EZDOK views in VC the camera seriously trembles on switching to a new position, particularly to/from my TrackIR view (if you know what I mean). I have not seen anything like this in any other aircraft using EZDOK and TrackIR. Any idea what to try to fix this? Thanks, Dirk.

Does anyone out there know of a gauge for FSX called Clear Vu. In FS9 when switched on you could look out of your plane you are flying, and not see any part of the airplane, wings, tail, etc. I've looked everywhere I can think of and can not come up with it. I've tried the one from FS9, but does'nt do anything in FSX. Paul '

So I've been using the ILS landing system for a while and it has always worked well...but for some reason recently, it guides the plane in, but goes too low too soon....I'm guessing it is thinking the runway is closer than it is...anyone had this issue - thanks!

I've been meaning to ask this for sometime but keep forgetting about it, but after my purchase of Fly Tampa's TNCM, it brings it to mind, again! I don't think it is an issue with FT TNCM as it appeared in another 3rd party scenery addon for TNCM as well. In the attached pic you can see two dark grey lines. The base attachment point seems to be among a group of trees or shrubbery. If you rotate the AC to 180 degrees away from that point, the lines disappear only to re-appear 180 degrees later when you are back to the attachment point. Just curious if anyone knows what is causing (or causes) this? Thanks

Hey folks, - apart from routefinder and vroute - there used to be a flightplanner, that you used to be able to put in a departure OR a destination then it would come up with a dozen or so flight routes. for some reason my f9 key stopped working. (AES,FSuicp,Linda,UT2,GEX, Wideview & Widetraffic, Pmdg 738 NGX), ch throttles and pedals and yoke. i thought it was from AES but without it it still did it. i tried a stock airport and still, i tried stock airplane and still. i can get it from my dropdown menue but once i click on f 1o i cant click back to VC any ideas? i dont know what i did or what made this happen. the only thing i have added is a bunch of sceneries for AES. i was going to do a fsx repair since ive had success with that in the past. but if i have to end up doing that i have a few probably wore out questions 1) will i loose all my progs. like A…
