Hi all, I posted this on another forum as well, but figured a second post here couldn't hurt. I have a really strange issue with Wilco's Tilt Rotor (FSX), in that try as I might, I cannot get the right side motor to start. This applies to version 1.4, the patch to 1.5 , and both with or without the upgraded freeware VTOL gauge by Rob B available in the file library at SOH. Just for preemptive confirmation: Yes, SimConnect is present and fully working, as is the newest (Feb 4, 2013) version of Pete's FSUIPC4. Over the last 12 months I have spent time effort and money upgrading my aircraft, scenery and equipment to enhance my flight simulator experience. I'm still not receiving good fps all the time and really it's frustrating. I'm hoping if I post my info then people will be able to offer advice and info on how I can improve my fps if its possible. For some reason my default flight Cessna 172 at Kastrup Copenhagen DK Rwy04 L Starts with 75% fuel in both tanks.( I have fuel set to "Unlimited" But would like to have the Fuel tanks show 100%... I can Taxi or Slew to a refuelling station and there they top up. If I reset the flight to start at the beggin of the runway the tanks are back to 75% How can I get them to show 100%? Hi all I need to improve my system over the coming weeks, mainly to improve FSX. My specs are: * Intel Q6600 Processor * (2.4GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB Cache) * Genuine Windows Vista ® Home Premium * 4GB Memory * 1TB Hard Drive * 512MB nVidia GeForce 9600GT Can anyone recommend the best area to improve. My FPS levels are good in areas, and very bad in some, averaging around 7/9 FPS at LHR with settings tweaked and turned down, and I seem to regular get the 'out of memory error'. Cheers

I haven't used flightaware in awhile untill today and I went on the site to get charts of Vancouver (CYVR) but when I clicked on the MAps & Diagram tab it just showes a areria view of the airport? Don

If I've bought add on mesh (FSGenesis) and am using add on scenery (Spain free photoscenery). Do I need to do anything to either of them to make sure that the add on photoscenery is using the add on (higher resolution) mesh? Thanks

Hi Everyone, I am having a problem with a lot of FSX freeware planes. They all seem to have this flashing board across the captain's PFD, ND, and some part of the EICAS. I am mainly concerned about a recent plane I downloaded from the Avsim Library. It is the [PIA ATR-42-500 by Ahmed Ahsen & Ed Cox]. I have attached an image for your better understanding. Seriously giving some thoughts to purchasing this as I have been away from FSX for last 4 months. Just want some feedback on the Pros and Cons from simmers who had the previous version and either upgraded/bought the new Extended Version. PC Pilot gives it a glowing review, but a glowing review in a magazine and feedbacks from actual users of this Add-on is a totally different perspective. Thanks in anticipation.

So when I start landing and I get to around 1000-1500 feet my plane automatically starts increasing the throttle...I'm sure it's some sort of protection built into the plane, but I don't know how to turn it off so I can land...heard of this before? Thanks.

Ok I have FSX running on only 3 frames per second. I have a Intel i3 M370 / 4GB RAM / and Intel HD Graphics Card. I know this may suck for gaming but I know it can get at least 20 fps. I have every single slider set to low and this still gives me only 3 fps. I run the original FSX with only aircraft addons. No scenery no nothing. All sliders set to 0 execpt global texture resoloution is set to high for the plane. With default fsx aircraft I can get 20 with the sliders maxed out, but it doesn't make much of a diffrence because the crappy graphics card displays it like legos. I just want to run the addon plane and I do not care about the scenery. Its like the PMDG 737NGX or…

Too bad for you. FSX works flawless for me. Go ahead and get Xplane or Prepar3D or both. The DSC or that other one.

I purchased the QW757 about a week and a half ago and I have run into a problem. No matter what I do, I cannot load payload into any slots other than the Top Front Hold and Top Mid Hold sections. I have used the livery manager as well as gone into the fuel and payload menu within FSX. When I attempt to load the weight manually, it causes the aircraft to "resettle" as if weight is applied, but then immediately goes back to the weight it was. The only way to add weight is to put all of the weight in the Top Mid Hold section, but the CG tends to be a bit far forward. Both FSX and the Livery Manager have admin rights and I have installed FSX into C:/FSX so I do not think it…

I am trying to fix the incorrect taxiway signs at Van Nuys, and found a VNY scenery file in the Avsim files, but when I install it, the new taxiway signs show up, but the standard scenery is still there (overlapping). I even got 2 towers now. Any idea on how to 'remove' the standard taxiway signs? Much appreciated. Rob

I downloaded the nice little Goshawk by Cattaneo and was using it to take off and land on the Acceleration carriers in FSX yesterday. No problems. But today the plane makes it to the front end of the deck on the carrier and appears to run into an invisible wall. It does the same thing on either the carrier tutorial mission, carrier practice mission, or on a couple of carrier missions I set up yesterday and had no problem with. The Hornet works normally. The problem appears to only be with the Goshawk. Has anyone else encountered this that might shed some light on what I could try to fix it? Thanks! Dewey

Well, no signs of PMDG 777. So I'm kinda getting a bit impatient to fly the 777-300. And, though I know per developer that CS 777 is not fully complete, I have a difficult time understanding how extremely overpriced is CS 777-300. One would have to pay over $80.00 U.S for the 777-300. What? That's way too much. What are they thinking?

All my life (so to speak ^_^ ) I've been looking for good Norwegian scenery. I do have the freeware Norway Scenic II scenery and the freeware airports but I am always looking for more realism. Today I stumbled upon openVFR and they seem to have Norway available too: afaik openVFR is similar to UTX (which I also own) but more detailed and precise... Can anynone confirm this for Norway? I also noticed you can buy buildings and objects for Norway seperately...?!? Does that mean I will get stavkirkes and 'real' norwegian houses and so on...? There is no real explanation on the site and no special product page for Norway so I am left a little bit in the dark about all this…

I have simple question for those who have both those planes. How hard is is the Lancair on performance compared to the 737NGX ? I ask since I have the 737NGX so an answer to this question would be helpful for me in deciding if to buy Realair Lancair.

Pilots, simmers, enthusiasts, all of the above, I love nothing more than taking the small / medium airliner out for a ride, say anything from a 30 minute to a hour long flight... Have you guys know of any routes of that length you can recommend? Always a bonus to see some beautiful scenery, try an interesting approach / departure or experience something new in the (simulated) world. I've exhausted most of the short UK hops, would be great to see some other parts of the globe! Thanks Rob

Three questions, if anyone knows how: 1. Can you change the default airport in the free flight selection pane from "Friday Harbor" to any airport of the user's choosing? How to? 2. When in VC view, if you hit "5" to center the view it defaults to looking straight down at the pilots seat, which is the most useless view in the entire simulator. Is there a way to change the default "center" view in VC mode to eye-level horizontal from the pilots (left-hand seat) vantage point? 3. What key do you hit to take a screenshot? I was thinking about purchasing one of the MSEv2 states to try it out. I'm normally not a big fan of photoscenery because I do alot of low and slow GA flying. However, I've been following a couple of the threads here on it and marvelling at some of the screenshots Firehawk44 posted. They looked perfect for jet flights. I plan on doing some flights over the coming weeks that are much higher altitude and much faster (military jets) than I normally fly so I thought it might be a good opportunity to try out some of the MSE scenery. Lately I have been having a problem when making an IFR approach. I receive instructions on approach to TNCM to reduce altitude and turn to a new heading about 20 miles out. I try to respond but the on screen text stops displaying the choices and no matter what I do I cannot respond to instructions. ATC Cancels my IFR Flight Plan and I have to make a go around and file a new ILS flight plan which then vectors me back the way I came which is no good. I then have to do a visual approach without ATC instructions. The flight was from Punta Cana Int. MDPC to Princess Juliana TNCM and was only about an hour flight.
