I have REX and Ezdoc. I'm looking for the best Weather Add-on out there. I've heard nothing but good things about Opus, but that add-on has a camera configuration like Ezdoc. Should I keep what I got, should I add Opus or get another Weather Add-on? Thanks in advance!

I just posted in a topic about an ATC addon and their poor feedback to their customers, and I also included Opus in my post, so I thought I'd share it here as well. The way Opus is being developed with frequent little (or bigger) updates + beta's and the quickness of their reactions on AVSim and their official forums about problems of users, I feel is an example of how it can and should be done. As a customer I can see the progress and customer support. Negative reviews and criticism are given easy (and if the complaints are reasonable I support this 100%) but when you are a happy camper you don't feel the urge to post about it, that's the other reason for this p…

I installed Shanghai airport and when I go to runway, there is terrain in some parts of it. I don't have GEX/UTX in Asia region so I was thinking it may be a problem of FS Global but terrain looks like the part of the airport. When I stand on runway, I am below and it looks like there is an unseen runway I am standing on it. How can I fix this problem?

Greetings to all! Glad to be back after some 4 or 5 yrs of being away from FSX. (I even forgot my old AVSIM user-id/pwd so I created this new one). With a newer rig, I recently decided to Re-Install FSX, go through ALL my old add-on collections, the tweaking, etc... and downloaded some newer add-ons from FTX - terrain and airports. My question: During the installation, I installed FTX NA Blue first, BEFORE UTX/GEX-US-CAN. Needless to say, the GEX/UTX had over-written the FTX textures of the same area. I noticed it the moment I flew over an area covered by both GEX/FTX. Now, Is there a way I could bring back the FTX textures without having to Re-Install it…

Is it toast? Or on vacation? Or, if they are in the US southWest, is dhey toasted yet Ameigo?

and now none of the switches/buttons/FMC keys work on any of my aircraft.. why is this?

I read alot about people's un appreciated experiences with "shimmering". My apologies for being ignorant, but how would one describe "shimmering". The reason I ask, is because I have noticed since playing around Nvidia Inspector, that buildings, or distant urban areas, and AI aircraft at airports, especially from a distance, seem to twinkle. It doesn't appear to affect performance ... but it can really be distracting. I am running DX10 preview, 8xSQ (Combined: 2x2 SS +2x MS), 4xSS set in NVI, with in game Anistropic ant-aliasing selected. It is out, and looks great. Finally Carenado went back to making steam gauges, which they do quite well. Lets hope it is bug free, and flies well.

Hi So I've been looking around to figure out why Nvidia inpector setting aren't working on FSX. I have turned the in game AA off, and tried out all the inspector settings I could find in other forums and webpages, but there seeme to be no difference at all. I'm lost, and really desperate. The only thing that actually works is the "Nvidia Predefined FXAA Usage" and the FXAA settings, but since this is only on & off settings I can't controll the AA "strenght" at all.. Does any body have a quick and easy way to fix this?

Hi there! Since yesterday (I started with a fresh FSX.cfg, so maybe I missed something...), the IAS of the sim, shown in the red info text in the upper left corner of FSX, doesn´t match with the instruments value in the aircraft anymore. That led to a stall at FL 320 in the Leonardo Maddog today. IAS in the a/c was 260 kts, FSX showed 160 kts. the nose of the plane was pitech up to 9 degress in level flight... Same happened with the Coolsky DC-9. Whats going on here?

Hey, I am using ENB series with no problem if not touching anything or pressing alt + enter, but I was wondering if there's any solution for the alt+enter crash, iv'e heard something with the HIGHMAFIX=1 but I am not sure. any info about that appreciated. thanks.

Hi, I'm having an extremely frustrating experience with night flying- the water is WAY too bright. I have REX 2.0, FS Water Configurator and Bojote's Shader mod. Despite everything I have tried, the water does not budge and remains that unrealistic bright colour. Is there any way to get around this, perhaps a setting somewhere in REX? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking for a A330 for FSX and the best available right now looks like BlackBox A330. I don't expect PMDG like quality but how about the exterior model and the performance? Anyone using this product?

Hello, I've just tested AI Flight planner 2 yesterday to include some military activity on my FSX. But I'm disappointed with the 250 knots speed limits under 10,000 feets and also the cruise speed above 10.000 feets does not match the 1,000 knots I've set. I would like also to set, if possible the climb rate, etc... Please let me know what can I do to fix that. regards J.

So my ancient 6600Gt 128mb fried the other day, so i upgraded to a 6670 with 1gb DDR5 RAM (i think thats what its called) made by Asus. The old card could handle FS2004 on mid settings anywhere between 30-60fps which was ok but not brilliant. Current specs (i'm a little rusty with computers on the whole, so forgive my poor terminology) Dell Dimension 5000 Intel® Pentium® 4 with Hyper-Threading technology, 3.2ghz if i remember right Intel 915G Express chipset 1.5gb RAM configured in that twin format, forgot what its called but supposed to make it perform better.. 2x256mb, 2x512mb Windows XP (just formatted) I guess thats all you need to know. Hello Again Simmers! So this can really pertain to any simulator, FS9 or even XP, although I solely use FSX and I think it's where this will be most valued. Simply put my idea is to start a list of airline gates in the real world. Now I don't know if I am the only one who cares this, but something about starting a flight wearing, say AAL colours and finding only Delta aircraft surrounding me makes the experience of AI and airline simulation feel a lot more unrealistic. So my idea, if anyone shares my feelings, is to start a list of global major (or minor if that's what you know) airports, and the gates that certain airlines fly to at that airport. I purchased ORBX addons YBBN Airport and AU Red but ever since I re installed and upgraded my computer these addons have failed to install. I use the installer like on my old computer and it installs into an Orbx folder inside my actual FSX folder but the YBBN Brisbane airport never appears in game. Why is this happening? Very annoying as I paid a lot for the airport addon and it won't work. This is also the same with all the ORBX freeware airports. Thanks for your time! -Jason

I've been having some trouble utilizing the rudders on the Airbus x Add-on that I recently installed. Please note I am only using a keyboard and mouse, no external peripherals. As well, I am new to FSX, and Airbus X. It is mandatory to do a rudder check during the after-start checklist, but I've been having trouble getting the rudders to work. The problem is, that when I use the rudder (yaw) keys, the rudders don't appear to be moving the way they should; When I press "0", the rudder moves just a slight bit, but immediately returns to it's original position. Hello everyone! Hope everyone is going well and is exited for the pmdg 777! So I decided that I have to much stuff on my simulator and that I should install a clean copy with minimal addons. So I reinstalled the sim, ORBX England and Wales, France VFR, and Germany VFR along with some airports. Also, the only aircraft I installed was the coolsky DC9 (Great plane!!!!). I wanted to do some FPS testing so I took the mighty DC9 to EGKK (Gatwick, default airport) and did a flight around the airport with ORBX scenery. Everytime I start a flight that oringinates from another airport to an aerosoft one...it seems the afcads are not loading correctly...missing buidings, runways, taxiways, etc. Flights from these airports are fine with no visual anomolies.
