I am using multiple keyboards and have installedHID macros to control keyboard functions. In order for Simconnect to launch when FSX starts I need to modify the EXE.xml file in Flight Simulator.I am running Windows 7 home premium 64bit operating system and have FSX deluxe with FSX Accelerator pack loaded. Where do I find the EXE.xml file as I can't see it under c:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Just a note to say that AVSIM haven't posted the release details of this scenery on their landing page? The scenery is amazing and thought it would be recognised along with all the other fine developers with an announcement........ Just raised it as I my first visit is to AVSIM to go through the release announcements for all add-ons whether it be airports, scenery or aircraft.

Hey y'all... I've searched around and found a couple models for the A22 but both are based in FS9. (Even though one claims to be compatible with both FS9 and X) When I add one of the A22 aircraft to the FSX aircraft folder most of the plane looks fine but most of the panel and components are invisible and transparent... Most of what I have read says missing textures are to blame. How can I fix this? I do not know how to change textures... This aircraft is important to me as its the same plane flown at the local club.

I'm very impressed and disappointed at myself for not purchasing this addon sooner. Immensely adds a lot to any movement piloting of all planes. Didn't expect this but landings are much more difficult now. Too difficult? The view you see bobbing, weaving around and making minor correction behaves to me similar to wind gusts, even though it is at 0 wind outside(in the FSX world). Haven't even tried with wind yet, ought to be crazy difficult. Perhaps one needs to play with the different effects files, which appears to be its own voodoo. I'm simply using the default Medium files from default A321 in most of my planes. Searching shows lots of queries for effect …

I'm going to try to take the plunge and move from FS9 to FSX. I have a newer rig now and think I should be able to run it. There are some really nice new planes that have or will come out, like the q400 and 777, and I figured it was time to try. The program that routes AI on SID/STARs seems pretty cool as well. 1) I have an old copy of FSX from way back, but not the acceleration expansion or gold edition. Do any add-ons require this, or am I ok with just standard FSX + SP2 2) Of course, the biggest stumbling blocks are frame rates and performance. I pretty much only fly IFR/airliner stuff and don't really do GA at all, and as such keeping a playable game at very b…

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the correct area, but nonetheless. So my FSX has a very bad FPS problem, like 5 at most and it makes it very difficult to fly and recently it's been CTD about 5 minutes into a flight, and I have done everything possible to fix it, including the ULL fix. I figure it has something to do with my CFG, my graphics are very low end because I've been trying to get FPS my sacrificing them. Hi all, I wasn't able to get the software guide to show up on my screen and I am not sure the best place to post this but here goes. I just purchased FSX and I am looking for advice on what addons I should get. Payware or freeware. I will probably spend most my time flying larger passenger jets across the US and to Europe etc and would likely use NYC as a starting base for most flights, so would be interested in a great JFK airport and maybe a nice Heathrow, LAX. Hi all, could someone help me out with this issue, I installed an Airport scenery addon which unfortunately didn't work out so I deleted it as there was no uninstall program with it, it went into my addon scenery folder but as of now when I run FSX I get the prompt SCENERY ,CFG file error. Invalid Remote Scenery path in scenery Area. 115, Click OK to continue. I've tried all the suggestions from other post's to no prevail, so if I was to insert the FSX disc's again and select repair would that work and to do that I guess I would have to return to default FSX with GEX,UTX,REX,ORBX and UT2 installed before I proceed or is there any other way around this?. That is the question . So for the past couple of years or so I have almost never disables ENBSeries, whichI found made my FS much more vivid (I'm using FlightBeam's recommended .ini), aalthough only quite recently I have begun to wonder whether or not this addition is the most realistic. Although tge colours are quite vibrant I'm not sure this matches reality as well as default FSX (although it certainly looks better)! So what do you think about this - do I stay with ENB, change the settings, revert back to default graphics or some other solution? Hi I currently run FSX in the default windows location /Program File(x86) folder. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of aircraft and scenery addon software most of which was downloaded and some on CD-DVD. In addition I have various FSX utilities installed like OPUS/FS Build/REX/UT2. I want to now re-install FSX into its own dedicated SSD drive. Seems simple enough but somehow I cant help to feel this will be an overwhelming task especially getting all my addons re-installed to work with FSX in its new location. Do all the addons have to be installed on the SSD too? Can anyone suggest a suitable SSD? Do I have to uninstall via Control Panel all the addons and then u…

Hi, I downloaded the demo of FS Captain and used the configurator to add the FMC panel to the Carenado C208B (for testing). I set myself up with one of the default airlines but the demo flight I set up (from KOLM), only listed the default C208B for flight (and other default aircraft)......... I couldn't find any way of selecting the Carenado C208B instead, for my first flight. Can anyone give a pointer on this?

I wish that I had a descent path for my airbus to follow.... One thing I dont like about it, It doesnt calculate altitudes properly in the FMC.

Hi, very pleased with the software, have some questions: With dynamic weather, what options should you have set in FSX? Opus weather in themes? Real life weather? I start FSX and track ir first, then opus and set the destination airport and choose dynamic weather. Is that it? Can I forget completely about whatever options are selected within FSX? I have some small issues with my main cockpit view within FSX, which I have set up as one of the cameras. Sometimes, it moves the eyepoint backwards and I cant get it to move forward, using track ir. I've been searching the forums for 2 1/2 hrs. but I can't find a solution. I posted this at the Eaglesoft forum, but you guys over here seem to be on it, so... Hello fellow simmers, after a few months of no being on flight simulator, due to college. I was wondering to start a completely new fsx cfg, to just get a new current fresh fsx. When looking upon kostas guide i cannot seem to fimnd it anywhere, has he moved it or has it got deleted or is there a new guide?. Is there another tweaking system that has popped up?. When FSX is running, accessing the drive is it mostly in the FSX FOLDER in(F) for example? Or does the accessing just as busy in ©? Using an SSD drive for F or C, or BOTH? Any explanation is much appreciated. Thanks. Abe

Hi, I'm a long-term ActiveSky user, but I've been impressed by the amount of favourable comments about OpusFSX's weather accuracy so I'm trying it for a while. I was already using OpusFSX in any case, but just not for the weather. One thing I'd love to see implemented is an option to automatically get the flight plan from the same PLN file currently loaded into FSX. This is easy enough to identify -- SimConnect can notify a client program when the plan is loaded, and the full pathname can be obtained. This would get over one of my major concerns with weather programs which work best when knowing the routing -- I'm always forgetting to input even the destina…

I have recently have had a peculiar problem in my FSX: the door opens & closes continually as I fly, say ever 5 seconds or so. It happens with the Baropn 59 and the B737 --stock a/c. And it probably happens with all default a/c that have "exits" or doors. I had the samet hing happening with gear retracting and extending continually. On and off I have had either one or the other unwanted animation happening continually (gear or doors animating continually--open/close-retract/extend) all day today. I uninstalled FSX and reinstalled it and even changed keyboard and reset my joystick buttons a couple of times. At certain moments the animation stopped but later it start…

This may be an unexpected question from an FSX-oldie like me but I started flying low and slow again (after spending a lot of time high and dry) and I noticed (again) how the highest res ground textures won't get loaded until I am almost flying above them. I don't have 'the blurries' as such, but the highest textures simply load late. So I decided to have another look at LOD_RADIUS which I usually don't use and set it to 6.500000. The odd thing is that with or without that 'tweak', I see the exact same thing happening... The ground textures still load when I am almost flying over them.
