Hi I'm very interested in the upcoming Milviz 737-200 as I enjoy the classic airliners, more actual flying to be done rather than the modern set and forget jets. I have never purchased any Milviz products before so was just wondering what other peoples experiences of them are. I like to fly by the book and enjoy having an in depth simulation of aircraft systems. So would you recommend Milviz products to me? Appreciate any replies to this. Niall

Hello Would anyone happen to know the programming language of FSX and Microsoft Flight? I have practically no programming experience, but my best guess would be C or C++. Just curious to know, and any responses would be appreciated. If anyone knows the language of any other modern simulators (well FSX is not too modern - 2006!) such as X-plane 10 a response for those sims would also be appreciated. Thanks. Ara M.

How would I go about finding this out? I have been browsing for days now and can't make up my mind...utx + GEX? FTX? MegaScenery? What i am after is the best looking scenery for either Washington/seattle or western Germany/cologne for largely VFR flight. I don't care much about the performance hit - my machine is pretty strong - but care mostly about authenticity and near as possible to photorealism. Thanks alot. Oh yeah, this is for FSX of course.

This halo.bmp file is really confusing me and I'd like to get a clear understanding of how this file is being used inside the FSX world. Does it only affect the runway lights such as the VASI, approach, etc. Or is it more on a global level where it is used on the aircraft as well? I'm trying to fine tune the size and sharpness of my runway lights by using the following entries inside of my fsx.cfg: RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.65 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.7 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.75 RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.5 Does REX, UTX, A2A Shockwave 3D Redux Lights, and FTX Light Tweaker all use this same halo.bmp file as well? Been using OPUS happily for months but today I went to start it and got the FSXSERVER HAS STOPPED WORKING MESSAGE. I uninstalled older version of OPUS and reinstalled the latest version from 07/19/13 but still getting the same error message. Also, when I reinstall there is no OPUS icon put onto desktop. I've recently been trying to learn the airbus extended, and have encountered an odd problem. Whenever I use radar contact 4 it detects a crash. Has anyone experienced this before?

At range about 5 - 20 miles... The actual photo scenery mesh gets really really blurry. I really want some help on this because I know it's possible because I've seen FSX youtube vids of like 40 mile no blurry and lights still show up.

Hi, any advice on how to get rid of the annoying blue squares with the fsx logo on it? It happens when changing views and panning around. They also appear randomly in water and land textures. Any tweak that fixes this? I use dx10

So has anyone found a way to fly formation in Prepar3D? My FSX kept crashing on my computer so I moved to P3D and FS Recorder does not work on it. Even the earlier versions of FSR make the plane jump around when playing recorded as traffic. Any other solutions to fly formation?

I am planning to buy a laptop next week and I will be using it for my study (software engineering) and FSX My question is can I run FSX with reasonable tweaks on it ? I will not be using payware aircraft but would like to use custom AI and payware sceneries such as FlyTampa and Aerosoft. Custom AI would be AI models from TFS, AIA, FAIB etc... I can't tell you how happy I am that a decent CRJ is being modeled for FSX. A CRJ is SO much needed! I haven't seen much excitement over this on the Avsim forums, so hopefully this will get you excited!!! Hello, I know the first thing your going to think is "ify 737? why!?!?!?!?!!?! the PMDG is sooo much better!" And i know it is but I am scared to buy the pmdg 737 because it is so frame rate heavy I don't have a good computer and I really want a 737, is it worth buying the ifly 737? Just to give you an idea of my framerates, on default aircraft i get around 35 fps, with the airbus x extended I get about 17.

Guys, I would like to know what the best plane is for vfr and sight seeing is for FSX? When I say best I mean, best looking graphics for exterior and interior, especially amazingly detailed virtual cockpit since thats the view I use most. And also sounds, and in terms on airplane features like glass cockpits, modern and advanced avionics. I currently use Carenado Cirrus SR22GTX, and the 182T Skylane. Nice planes, but I feel there is something better out there. I love all glass cockpits, and would like a plane with an unobstructed view while I am flying in the vc. I like the feature in FSX whereby each time I save a flight a little screenshot of that flight would appear in the FSX window when I choose 'Load'. The picture changed each time I changed the flight. ( I save a number of flights as Flight 1, 2, 3 etc., useful when troubleshooting or whatever, so that I can go back to the same position). The screenshots are now 'stuck', so even though I have resaved, say, Flight 1 a number of times since, the screenshot I see when I select 'Load' is now several weeks old. Any idea why the pictures have stopped updating each time I save a flight at a different location? Martin

I'm posting this here because Umberto over at the Fsdreamteam forums wasn't all that helpful. When I approach DFW, JFK or LAX, after the airport "loads" (that slight pause that everybody refers to) it displays vertically, like I'm flying in to a picture of it. The only way I can get the field to appear normally again is to switch to windowed mode. Anyone ever experience this and if they did how did you fix it?

Anyone know if there's a way to 'force' FSX to look on another drive for aircraft? I've tried: SimObjectPaths.9=G:\HANGAR But this doesn't work Thanks

Hi everyone, Well, I'll be the first to admit I've been lazy for a long time to figure out what the following issue for me is... I have KPHL by Skysunjet for FSX installed. Great scenery.......Problem is that I have two sets of bridge ways and also two sets of taxi lines and runway textures showing through. I am assuming there is a conflicting AFCAD somewhere causing this?? If this is this correct assumption, I forget which program out there can resolve the issue for me, as it's been SO long? Currently my FSX is setup with UTX, GEX, & REX/OpusFSX.... I'm wondering what your thoughts are on Terrain Mesh for elevation data? Would you recommend Terrain Mesh to add to my list of add-ons as well? If so...what type would you recommend? I've been reading about FSGlobal Ultimate and FSGenesis and I'm on the fence whether I should get Terrain Mesh or not, and if so...which one. Some of the stuff I read makes it sound like its very very important. Other stuff I read makes it sound like its more trouble than its worth and it can really screw up your airports and some of the features. I'm quite excited about this, especially as there's a version with the later SP177 autopilot which has autothrotte and VNAV and LNAV capabilities so IFR flying is a bit easier than in a true steam cockpit, which I find is very hard to do single pilot. VC looks nice if a little 'cartoony' but looks lovely at night. Any thoughts?
