  2. Ahh... here we go again! I don't have yoke & pedals yet, so until then, I'm using a dual shock 3. Now it is a great accessory because it has lots of buttons (enough for the basic stuff) + six-axis which allows very precise moves of the ailerons, rudder and elevator with just tilting and rolling the gamepad, thus freeing up buttons to do other stuff. The problem however, I was using a shoddy little program called 'motion-in-joy'. It was written by some Chinese person and obviously, the guy is an amateur, because it works, but BSODs every now and then.. today it really managed to ###### me off to the extent I decided to completely uninstall it (well almost, it…

So i'm slowly adding more and more seriousness to my simming adventures. I currently fly the iFly 737 and PMDG 747 so i'm using the FMC and flying SIDS/STARS and planning my descents etc. What i'm not understanding is how to decide what the enroute legs will be. How do i find out what airways to use enroute? What IS an airway? How do i add them into the FMC of the 737/747 and how do i link the end of a SID onto an airway and know which to use? Thanks, hope this makes sense.

Does anyone know if there is a list available that shows the extent of updates needed to the stock FSX AFCADS to bring them to a current state? Something like this may be useful to AFCAD developers to select their projects or pilots that have discovered while on approach that their scenery doesn’t matchup with their navdata. I briefly compared the information on Wikipedia, Google Earth, and Bing Maps to the FSX stock scenery and created a spreadsheet listing 176 Chinese airports. I wasn't able post the result for some reason but it's setup like this. ICAO => Airport Name => Remarks => Freeware or Payware Available? Y/N => Navdata Available? Y/N =&gt…

Hi all, I am trying to import the flightplan generated by RouteFinder into FSbuild. However, the route doesn't look right to me. What possibly goes wrong here? I am using the latest cycle from Navigraph already. Thanks,

First and foremost, I LOVE Opus. I was a die-hard supported of one of the other weather generators before this came along, and overall, I am glad I made the switch. Here's my question...err suggestion. As I understand it, I have to assign a joystick button or keyboard key for each camera view in order to cycle between said views. In my case (and I'm sure others as well) I simply dont have enough free buttons or keys. Wouldn't it be easier if we could just program 1 single key or button to cycle all views? For example, every time I press button, the view cycles to a view I have created. Perhaps this is already possible? Thanks for your time. Respectfully,

Does anyone else suffer from texture "banding" on sky/water etc? Here is a shot from a recent flight over water, and you can see very noticeable bands of colour, it's more apparent normally in sky and water. Is there some setting I can tweak to reduce this at all? Thanks! EDIT - my sim doesn't look this bad, it's a quick JPEG crop in ms paint

  16. I open a challenge and financial reward for any Software Engineer that is also a FSX flight enthusiast... ----------------------------------------------------------- If you can come up with a software emulator hack, that would in essence, trick W7 64 bit, to 'see' FSX as a 64 bit program and RUN IT AS SUCH, with full stability, I will pay your company and/or website, $100.00 for this issue. No butts, and/or ifs. $100.00 from myself, and anybody else that might add a '+1' to this thread. You could invest time and resources for this endeavor, and reap many thousands of dollars. I don't imagine that there would not be one FSX present and future user that would n…

I am going to renew the flight simulation desktop PC Rig. I have started searching for old notes, forums tips, etc. I have not re-installed everything before, except maybe FSX once about 3 years ago; so, I would appreciate tips to make this less painful than what I expect. I plan to gather notes / links about what I learn in the process, and will post here when I get done. New Rig: Intel Core i7-4770 / 16GB RAM OS Win7-64 Pro HDD 2TB 7200 rpm GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX650 2GB GDDR5 The following will come from old Rig and will become part of new rig 2 X Samsung Syncmaster 2494 flat screens SSD Samsung 840 Pro 500GB => Will become drive C:\ in new rig Th…

THE TOPIC Ladies and gents, there have been some past discussions about a flight simmers ability to pilot a real world aircraft. The most recent topic comprised of flying a 737NG. There were plenty posts about the probability with varying perspectives. To have a good view point, one must understand what goes into flying a real world aircraft. For the most part, most of us are very familiar with the flight sim process. Some of us actually have real world experience in the flying biz. With that in mind, I think it's better to take a close in depth look at the possibility and how one would go about accomplishing the task. WHY Someone asked in an earlier post, "Why wou…

ok so I thought I would post a comparison shot of the difference between a 17" 4:3 screen and the screen size I am achieving by my 1080p projector, you can probably understand why now I cannot go back to a monitor even if I had the dell 30" screen!.

  22. A fellow simmer started a thread at the MS FSX Forum entitled: "Strange altitude jumps/falls - looking for ideas what's causing it" I posted that I had experienced the same problem and was not sure as to what caused it, other than the fact that I reset defaults and things seemed to settle down. Two people chimed in with posts which basically just said "Opus" but did not offer any explanation as to why they blame Opus. Do they know something a lot of people don't? (Can't see how that kind of answer to a question is particularly helpful). Anyway, maybe Stephen or Cheryl could fill me in on what settings can cause/cure this problem so that I can customize …

Hello all, After installing FS9/FSX payware aircraft like the Hampden, Whe running the engines it seems as if the propellor "disc" cuts through the scenery. It is as if the scenery in the disc area is removed. I hope I explained myself clear enough. Does anyone know the answer, or have the same experience. I thought I had seen something on the forum on this, but I could not find it any more. Thanks in advance for your help Regards Hanss
