I recall that there are NAV database updates to the FSX environment that corrects the runway headings due to Impact of the earth changing, etc Ie PANC was 6R and 6L and it’s now 7R and 7L. Also radio frequency data as well. Is this the correct site? https://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html Thanks!

I recently bought and installed TFDi 717 on my FSX: SE, but something seems not right, judging by the fonts that are too big and makes it almost impossible to read the instruments Is there any way to fix this?

Hi there everybody! I know that there are lots of cockpit sounds like the clicking of the rotating knobs that adjust altitude or heading etc. I have never heard these sounds and I wonder how is that possible, since I think that these sounds do exist inside the simulator. Meaning FSX-SE for me.

Hello All. Having been away from simming for many years , Years ago I spent hundreds of pounds on Apollo map, and Air Map X. I was a GPS Panel but had topographic maps just like the ones you purchase from the CAA. I have Air Map X plus about all the topo maps for Europe, but unfortunately they are not working, Eack map had a key and a download number. And a support service, I probably spent some £200 out on these maps. Whar happend to Air Map X and Apollo software, have I lost all my maps, if they are useable ie the format ete, can I make use of them somewhere. Trubshaw.

Hi, I love this aircraft, but its only flaw for me is the smoke effects when pushing the throttles on take off, it cut fps from 30-40 down to 9-12. No I've looked at the Effects section in the cfg, but no smoke mentioned. I found a fx_nimrod_smoke.fx file in the FSX Effects folder, but on removal there is no effect (that file might have been imported with an AI Nimrod). Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a payware/study quality Piper Arrow as I will likely be flying in one as a student pilot soon. I have my eyes on the Just Flight Arrow III, but I would like a model as close to the aircraft in real life as possible - PA-28R-180 (the original Arrow, I believe). So I'm looking for something with an 180 HP engine rather than the Arrow III's 200 HP. Does anyone know of a payware quality one that may have flown under my radar? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I was thinking of buying the TFDi 717 for FSX:SE since it goes on sale on Cyber Monday. However, I have read many reviews that say whenever they change views the sim crashes. Is this just a P3D thing or is it for all sims? Many Thanks.

A new problem has just shown up. Strange scenery tiles show up all over the place in all views. I have recently been working a lot to straighten out downloading new NaviGraph files, but don't see how that could be the problem. I have all the ORBX LandClass files. I have tried to repair FSX from original disc, but get stopped because of some "missing" files. I have a couple of questions; 1) Should I try re-downloading landclass files from ORBX ? I have a few other earlier landclass files installed, but all below the ORBX files. 2) Can I repair FSX-Steam from their website ? Any other suggestions ? Must be a somewhat common problem. Big shoutout to QW for continuing to develop for FSX. Just downloaded the update to the - 10 of their 787. Other developers have abandoned FSX, but QW shows there's still life in FSX. FSX will keep going strong for quite some time to come.

Recently I've been utilising SceneryConfigEditor to turn off and on various areas of my collected sceneries in FSX - I'd been using it for months to organise my scenery library. The premise is to save VAS by switching off sceneries you don't need... So... my recent cargo haul from Nairobi to Doncaster - Tri-Holer FTW unless it OOMs !! - I had the UK switched off (all photoreal and populated with UK2000 airports) because it would take me some time to transit Africa and Europe, even with saved flights . Once I'd got past Paris, I saved the flight and then re-started FSX with all my UK sceneries added in addition to France (numerous airports, but no large photorea…

Hi all, I'm not sure if I'm missing something here but after FSX CTD's is there anyway of reloading with panel states and configs as they were before the CTD. At the moment a basic save on FSX will not reload payware aircraft such as the PMDG 777, 737 etc... in the state they were before the CTD (i.e. with the FMC setup, correct panel states and so on). I was wondering if there was any 3rd party software, freeware or payware that would resolve this issue. It is extremely frustrating to lose all progress of a long flight due to a CTD. Making changes to an FSX airport in ADE by assigning airlines to different gates. When I compile the airport it indicates that there are missing third party libraries and provides me with a list of missing GUIDs. A string of 32 hex numbers is not very meaningful. How do I translate those GUIDs to find out what they are? If I go ahead and compile, the size of the new .bgl is significantly smaller that the original .bgl indicating to me that the missing GUIDs did not compile - although they apparently compiled in the original .bgl. I've read and reread the ADE Manual but it's not much help in this situation. Any help is appreciated!! Captain Tom

Anyone using Jonathan Gabbert's CYVR in FSX with Vancouver + V3?. Airport looks great, but I'm still getting some bleed thru issues when on the ground. The scenery is also deleting a swath of buildings to the South and East across the Fraser river, that Van + normally renders. The ground is also a monotone color and doesn't render the the photoreal ground texture.

Have I lost these important filesI . It looks like I have made a hash of installing FSX and an attempt to install addon scenery. I am getting two scenery.cfg file errors. "SCENERY.CFG File error. Invalid Remote scenery path in scenery Area 101" and the same for Area 107 I click to continue. I can't see these areas listed. I search C:/Games/Games/Steam/steamapps/common/FSX. If I am not beyond help can someone point me in the direction please. I have been away from simming for some years, which is probably obvious.

Hi, I am having a problem with the Real Air Duke V2 with the mouse clicks not operative so there is no way to fly the aircraft. In one of the answers to address the problem it mentions an AVSIM Forum member discovered how to fix the problem. Is there a way that this link be reactivated in this Forum? In my case the strange thing is right after being loaded the mouse clicks work perfect but after some time they become inoperative. Recently took the plunge and fired up FSX on my new screaming system. In moving my AI aircraft files from FS9 to FSX I noticed a number of the AI aircraft have no textures (white skins). I"m sure this issue was solved years ago by when FSX first came out but please help this Johnny Come Lately to the party. What's the solution please?

Hi, I have two different computers on which I run FSX. Mainly to try out new settings and add-ons before I port them over to the other. Let's call them Machine 1 and Machine 2 Machine 1 has been updated with SP1 and SP2. Anyway, on Machine 1, it gets dark too early. For example, over LasVegas, at 7:30 it's already close to fully dark....but on Machine 2, the Sun is still setting right on the horizon ? Both are set to the exact same Time and Season etc. Machine 1 is at fault because on August 5 at 17:30 it should still be mostly light out. What could be causing this? I have all the same scenery files installed in both Machines. …

Hi all, I installed a few textures + the water configuration tool after googling fsx texture mods. The net result is water disappears as i get close to it. I don't see any improvement in the game either. Would i need to completely reinstall to resolve? I have no backup. Cheers in advance!

I have just changed over to Windows10. Consequently, I had to re-install both my simulators. (FS9 and FSX) Both installations went well, on FSX the program asked for my numbers that are on the box. I have entered them, all ok. I installed the Acceleration pack, but here it did not ask for my code numbers. When starting FSX, all aircrafts are in the system, but when trying missions, there are only the basic missions listed and not the "advanced" ones like landing on the carrier etc. I have de-installed and re-installed the Acceleration pack numerous occasions, but no change what so ever. I fired up FSX after some years of inactivity and loss of previous sim knowledge. It appears I have caused problems with trying to add scenery and can't solve it. Get "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid Remote scenery Area 101" and "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid path in SCENERY AREA 107' Both files appear in C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/FSX. I also note that in there is a file 'OldScenery' as well as 'Scenery', both with same time/date. The files differ. I hope I have given enough information that someone will be able to assist me. I

Hello again, I have been having good success with people helping me with my FSX problems so here goes, although this is not really a problem, just something I have forgotten how to do. I have both the AI Carriers and the Vertigo Enterprise CV-6 addons installed in FSX and have successfully used the former in the past. The latter was a later purchase which I installed but never tried to use. The thing is that so much time has passed that I have forgotten how to place the ships in an area of FSX that has water so I can try to take off and land on my carriers.
