In FS9 I had a neat setup that showed for every AI plane the following: 1. ui_manufacturer, ui_aircraft type ("Boeing 747-400") 2. Callsign, flightnumber ("LUFTHANSA 400") 3. Departure, destination ("EDDF-KJFK") Now that I have FSX I get things like the aircraft type ("Aardvark"). How can I change that and show what I had in FS9? Thanks Chris

Hello Folks! I use the DX10 fixer and I seem to be having some issues. At first, I couldn't see landing lights and the bloom effect was much much much less than it is in DX9. Before you dismiss this as being a DX10 issue I was able to correct the landing lights situation by replacing a few textures in my textures folder from a friends installation. Still, though, my bloom effect is nothing like that of the bloom effect in DX9 when I switch back to it. I have ruled out SweetFX as a possible cause to the limiting of the lights. Has anyone else got any suggestions? Does it sound like a DX10 problem, or is this perhaps a texture issue? Thanks so much for all your …

Hi everyone, In near future I'm planning to get FSX Shade 1,02. And want to ask about Shade performance. Does it have any performance impact on FSX? Does it effect frame rates in FSX?

Hello. I'm hoping someone can answer a quick question for me. Is there a utility out there that allows the control of AI taxi speed in FSX like there is for FS9? I did a quick look but only found something that says it's for Prepar3D. I'm just not sure if that also works for FSX. Or maybe there is something else. Thanks!

I have a question for everyone. Is there a possibility that an add-on aircraft could cause across the board low frame rates in FSX(regardless of what a/c I am operating)? My install averages about 36FPS, but when flying complex aircraft close to the ground it will fall into the teens, making landing very difficult, not to mention annoying. In an experiment I installed Win7 Pro to a new SSD, and did a fresh install of FSX Gold, and before adding all my add on aircraft and scenery my FPS is about 82. This is all measured using FSXMark07, running 3 runs, then averaging them. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if the issue is my add ons or all the other crap …

I'm thinking about doing a delivery of a brand new aircraft West Coast USA to Sydney. I've figured that I can create two tanks in the passenger cabin to give me an extra 80 gal (that's all she will take with a pilot.) I'm stuck how to get FSX to actually feed from them. Ideally, I'd like them to feed automatically into my wing tanks? Any other way is fine as well. I have FSUIPC. Also, does anyone know of a better routing than direct Hawaii. I can get 2000nm out of it with the tanks, but that's not exactly legal. Is there a shorter route going North or South? Once i'm at Hawaii it's easy days. Thanks.

Hi Hope I've got the right place for this topic. I used to be able to watch my AI flights in FS9 using Traffic Tools SDK but according to what I've read only the deluxe version of FSX has this in it, since I have the ordinary version is there any freeware program which will allow me to watch my planes . Hi pilots, Here is my problem: I was Win7 installed in a SSD and FSX and all it's related addons in another. Some blackout killed my Windows SSD and while my complaint form gets answered, I'll buy a new SSD for Windows. My question is if once Windows is installed on the new drive, I can use my already installed FSX and if so, how I could do it. Thanks in advance. Ivan Lewis.

hey people Ive tryed to reinstall fsx a few times now to a new directory, and everytime I try its never seems to uninstall properly, so when I go to reinstall its still sees the old program files X86 instalation and will ALWAYS install to there and sometimes even half to there and the rest to the new directory Ive told it to! Does anyone know why this is and if there is a way for me to get around (uninstall ALL they 3billion files compleatly without a clean Win 7 reinstall) it or move fsx to my ssd once ive installed fsx to its usual bad spot? its driving me crazy(as Windows and FSX always does), and have had to move files the last time I tryed just to get it to w…

Had a little time this weekend to do some PC work. One of the tasks was to replace my almost-full 500 GB SSD with a 1 TB WD Velociraptor HDD (10,000 rpm). Just for the heck of it I decided to plug the Velociraptor into docking station, copy over both FSX and P3D and see how they worked. Amazing. Other than a 40% increase in initial load times there was absolutely no detectable performance difference between the SSD and the external HDD (but the cost difference is huge). The external HDD is mounted into an Anker SATA 3 docking station which, in turn, is plugged into an Anker 13-port SATA 3 USB hub (along with 32 TB of other external drives). Never had this problem before: All sounds are working in fsx, except when I get direction from atc in fsx I here nothing. I see the box in the upper left corner of the screen and even when I apply, still no vocal sound What setting is causing this problem ? All other sounds in fsx are working, except from atc

Anybody ever Have FSX Freeze when "Ending Flight"? Happens every time for me. See Pic below.

I need to be cleared up on something. I am using OPUSFSI. It is raining heavily here in the Phoenix, Arizona area today. OPUS shows the dense clouds etc. that would be associated with that kind of weather. However, the runways at KIWA/KPHX are dry and there is no rain visibly falling. Is this a fault of P3D? I checked with REX 4 Texture support and they say it has nothing to do with textures so I am a little confused where the missing runways/rain effects should be generated from.

Having been enjoying this series on TV (UK)...got me to thinking about the most dangerous approaches in FSX. I'd like to try a few in, say a Cessna....so, do any of you guys know any really challenging ones?.... What are your favourite White Knuckle landing spots? Hi guys! I need help reading a chart for a VOR approach. Please see the chart to get the idea: The red line is the path i'm coming from (im using VOR to VOR navigation). The VOR station at KMCO is off the field, so that makes it a bit more difficult to me. How can i execute that approach? can someone translate it to me in plain english? thanks

Hi Guys, Sorry for posting it here as I should have posted it on REX's support forum first, but for some reason I can't post in any of their forums (may be my memberships hasn't been approved yet). Anyway, yesterday I installed REX on my system, everything went fine until I went to fly with real wether mode with REX. On the top green text to speech window it's showed me that REX has download current weather information and the very next minute everything blacks out with an Error message: Weather file could not be located…… (can't remember the exact wordings). I have built a home cockpit that is configurable to different aircraft such as jets, twins, etc. i would like to be able to have a pop up window for my instrument panel for aircraft such as the Baron with G1000 etc. How can I configure it to make panels that are set in the VC to pop up and be moveable to my instrument panel?
