There seems to be a general feeling here lately that negative feedback is somehow bashing contributors, either freeware or payware. I personally feel that without pointing out these issues, there is little incentive for the hobby to progress. In the interest of explaining how my mind works, I thought I would give a quick list of things I love in this hobby and why, and offer one or two suggestions of how they could still be improved. Perhaps others will want to join in. I keep getting the message that FS needs Win 98 or higher or Win 2000 or higher...I'm currently on a Win NT 4.0 system. Shouldn't FS2k2 install under NT4.0?Thanks,K Bailey

Geof,Just checking back to see if you are having consistent weather echoes out of Flight Max's Collins Radar.I still have trouble getting the radar to work consistently.I have as part of my checklist a "Clear All Weather" routine from FS2K2's Weather Editor. But, I would really be happy if this could be resolved.

Installed the latest version of gmax. Go to tutorials and nothing happens. I would like to learn this program but its hard when it appears to not be working right. Anyone have any ideas??? Im wanting to be able to modify models in gmax, not neccesarily design my own yet. Also would like to know where there are some other good tutorials on using this program.Hornit

Download and checkout Eric Marciano's latest Airbus Panel's. They are the best I've seen in FS2K2! THERE IS A DRAWBACK AND THAT IS THEY USE REAL CRT GAUGES! But this panel looks and feels so good I bought them anyway. Eric is apparently coming out with a standard version soon.FYI - The Real CRT gauges are awesome and many other panels use them (747-400, 777 etc.) They are worth it. I figured Posky spent all this time designing this amazing virtual machine - it only deserves to be flown right with the best panel possible. It's the first time I've spent most of a flight looking out the windows and at the panel rather than at the bird itself!Just wanted to let y'all know....…

I just got Win XP Pro, and there are a few FS2002 display problems. First, the water reflections don't work, they keep making the water flash between light and dark blue. Second, some, but not all of the reflective textures on default and third-party aircraft work. There are parts of, like the default American Pacific 737, where the front has reflections, but the back is basic textures. Same thing with the repaint of the MD-80 into American colors. Everything reflects except the door. Also, I can only run FS2002 in full screen mode, otherwise the FPS is 0-1, and everything looks like it's out of FS98. What do I do to correct this problem?

Has anyone had trouble installing this aircraft? I purchased it on Sunday (Australia time) but when I got to about 83% it ststed "CRC error, cannot install the following file - FSDc400inf2.bmp. The aircraft is there with no gauges though. I fired off an e-mail straight away to FSD but I havn't hear a word from them as yet.RegardsJohn

I need to speed up the panel update rate on the stock B747 in FS2002. I have a vague recollection of there being a value that can be changed in the aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg file. As I can recall this used to be posted on flightsimnetwork/flightsimvetclub.com (which no longer exists) Anyone out there have any ideas? :-hmmm

There is a beautiful freeware one for Fly!2 by ROTW, but I have yet to find a decent one in FS2K2. Anyone know anything different?Richard

Hi allAfter some teething troubles, I've got my GF3Ti200 up and running. It has replaced a GF2 GTS 32MB.The difference is astounding. I don't get any more FPS (it's locked at 25 anyway) but everything is now maxed, and best of all the purple squares I used to get all over the landscape while FS painted in the textures have completely disappeared. I can now run at 1280/32bit with 4X AA, and using NVMax I've been able to add a few other visual tweaks. This card handles it all with ease - I suspect it must be the extra memory, and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone thinking of upgrading.Cheers

I have decided to do an airport that nobody has even touched since FS5. Grand Cayman's Owen Roberts International. I have alot of the buildings done, along with a few hotels, but I need an airport chart or something for building/hanger placement. A tragedy occured in the vicinity of Bankstown airport (New South Wales, Australia) on Sunday. A mid air collision occured at around 15.30 local time between a Piper Warrier and Socata Tobago. According to preliminary media reports, the Cherokee had been rented by a pilot who was returning with his immediate family from Wagga in the state's Central West. I can't believe the phenomenal difference between middayand from about 1800 hours onwards.I really comes to life with the incredible shadow effects.All thoese wonderful individual mountain peeks.I has a depth and presence that just ain't there at midday.Was going to put up some comparison screen shots but couldn'tbe bothered with the routine.

I've pondered this difference when reading the posts that claim "freeware's dead" and in reading some of the back and forth over critisism.Just like we imitate real flying, I think some of the freeware "organizations" and some individuals imitate companys. I installed Shehryar Ansari's latest creation and it is beautiful, just like the other airports he has done. For some strange reason, I can't see any nightlighting! Anyone know what I might have done wrong?By the way I have Shehryar's Santa Anna and Long Beach airports and they are fantastic! Dear simmers, I was looking at flightsim, and surprised how they could make a viewpoint like this one from virtual cockpit? I thought I only could view in horizontal viewpoints. I downloaded the new Water texture Effects from the Libary, but I see the new reef textures on the shoreline, and the new textures for the correct wind direction I put in and also got the slider for the water at DETAIL to keep good FPS. Now do the new Effects supposed to have ripples in the water with the wind set i put in?? I seee the ripples in the ocen but they are not moving, only the default shoreline waves work?? Is this the way it suppossed to be? Like just simulate with still waves in the wind direction i Installed?? I just can't seem to get the waves to be live ripples in the water or if they even move I don't know!? So can someone please tell me the correct acti…
