I read some discussion here sometime ago about the best aspect ratio or resolution to use in order to display panels properly. I believe aspect ratio can range from about 1.25 (1280X1024) up to about 1.6 (1280X800). Has anyone experimented with these and is there an optimum display ratio to use? Thanks!Airbus

Hi ... Hope you all can give me a hand. I've got the 2 monitors fired up. But, I can't seem to drag my radios over to the other monitor. I can drag my desk top icons, and they show up along with my curser. It's probably something real simple. But, wrestling with this install this afternoon, I'm plummed worn out. Thanks for any help...Cec

I will be uploading a patch for the Deb shortly. This patch should fix those users who had no hsi or master switch. In addition-now the battery and alternator switches are seperate and the hsi is photoreal. (The hsi looks a little worn-like it really does).Total size about 900 k.Hope it works for everyone now!http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/geofanim2.gif

In #7 of the Main Panel directions, Geof say that "the striped object(in the altimeter gauge) is an altitude bug that I can move to set an altitude......."I give up. How do you move the bug so you can select an altitude setting. I know you can pre-select the altitude with the Runway/NAV Aid Window. But I am not wanting to use this window because it locks up my program when I do, and/or brings up that dreaded MS "ERROR REPORTING" window which is an aggravation because they (MS) never do anything even after the 10,001 reports they have gotten from this harrassment!! So, if I could find out how to set my altimeter with the Bug, it would be appreciated.Cheers,Nick

All,I thought I'd sorted this problem but it's back. I set the record rate to 5s and on first playback it was flawless, no jumping up and down. Since then the machine's been rebooted and now the same video is so jumpy, the plane slams back into the taxiway and the situation resets.BUT, if I do a conventional replay of a video, it is smooth as silk. Can anyone advise?TIANeil

Hi,I have seen that there were some postings on the parking size required by AI aircraft. Therefore I did a systematic testing by setting up a test gate and different planes taking off from that gate. What I found is that the radius is important, not the descriptor small, medium or large or Gate versus Ramp GA. So you can set up the size range with a meaningful decriptor depending on the airport, thus making the selection easier when calling up the airport.I have tested the following planes and found these minimum radiuses required to be parked at such a gate. 1 foot less and it will not show up:MS B747 155 ftMS B777 151 ftMS B737 73 ftMS MD83 79 ftMS Dash8 50…

Does anyone know if there is a keyboard key command to select vertical speed? I can do it using the mouse of course, but would like to know if there is a simple key command for it. And yes I've looked at the zip containing all the key commands for fs2002 and it either isn't there, or I am just not seeing it. Thanks to anyone who can tell me what it is :-)Randy Davis

I can't beleive it but I got the two offending switches (for a few of you) rewritten in xml-actually give me about 1 more hour and I'll have it.Now those of you with the problem of the hsi/master not showing up-I need one of you to test it. I don't want to put it out as a patch and find out it still doesn't work. You will need to download about a 2 meg file-since most emails don't work it would be great if you have yahoo messenger-I can send it that way.I'll take the first person or two-so let me know email ([email protected]) if you are willing. If it works I'll have it uploaded to avsim later today.By the way-it now allows both an sperate alternator and battery switch, and…

I just downloaded the FSMeteo DEMO. I can't seem to figure how to get it to work. I have done everything that it tells me to do. :-hmmm I will start the simulator and then FSMeteo. Then, I click on start and it downloads the weather information. After that, I don't know what to do. How do I get it to work in MSFS2002? :-grrWhen I go into the simulator it will have the default weather information. Am I suppose to import it into the simulator?Any help is greatly appreciated.P.S. Keep in mind, I have downloaded the demo version so far. I believe it is version 4.7.

First, let me say that this is a truly unique and exceptional simulation. And a fantastic job on the airfile as well as the panel.I too have the HSI problem but I have one other problem - (I think), when on final, if I try to put in the last notch of flaps, I get a message that the airspeed is excessive and the flaps won't deploy. After landing and coming to stop, the flaps extend to the last notch, at 0 airspeed. I have looked throught the manual and either am missing something or something is wrong with my installation. Everything else is super great! I really like the pull down panel idea! And I am excitedly looking forward to the VC which looks great in the teaser!…

If I create a flightplan with FSNav with all the waypoints and climb rates etc.. and then fly either online or with FS ATC what happens when I start my decent a little bit earlier than directed when using the function "fly flight plan" from within FSNav? In other words say I'm flying to KMSY and 75 miles out my flightplan says I need to start my decent from FL350 but FS ATC doesn't like and tells me I'm below my assigned altitude. I can only imagine what would happen if I were online doing this. What are the correct procedures to do this. Surely if this function is available there must be a legal way to do this. Unless it's meant to be used only without ATC functions.I…

Using FSMain., could a VA have a way to allow pilots to swap a config file so that pilots could check out a plane and then return it? Example would be if the VA's Ops person were to create which planes were in the fleet and then upload it to there website. Next the ops person would email the proper config files to the pilot when he gets his assignment flight(s) and then return them after his flights so that a VA could use it to have a fleet that ages. I guess if this is possible then the income would need to become open to where the ops person could put in the config how much the flight should make based on ticket cost and expenses. Theres an addon program that does t…

Sometime ago I used a two part utility to decompile the VOR.bgl and another to add a vor at KPHL then recompiled with the first utility back to the VOR.bgl. Last week I was forced to reformat and reinstall all my software ( what a pain, runs better though !! ). One of the few items I don't seem to have saved was that two part utility and I can't seem to find it at the usual sites although I'm sure it's there. Can anyone help with a name(s) and/or sites.TIAJimBob
