Hello there.I'm currently having problems with FS2002 and was wondering if there was anyone out there who could help.I've looked all over the place but can't find the info I need.My Problem is this. About 6 months Ago I bought a Laptop out of necessity for my upcoming university course, along with that I also bought FS2002. Prior to this I was an avid user of FS2000. The laptop is an Intel P3 900Mhz Tiny MediaBook with 128Mbs of Ram, a 20gig HD and an S3 Graphics Card with 16Mbs of Memory. I run FS2002 under Windows XP on a two monitor set-up, with two GeForce 2 cards (one PCI, one AGP). If I let Windows take charge of Nvidia driver updates, it loads the same driver to both cards - predictably. Trouble is, then anything running with DirectX (including DXDIAG) crashes the system. Took me a week to work out that two cards trying to use the same driver causes a conflict - whatever Device Manager says to the contrary. By manually "rolling back" one card to the previous driver, the problem disappeared.Am I right? Is this true? It's certainly working for me now, but it took me an age to find this out for myself - and I did try many forums which didn't raise…

way cool, the thing i like the most about it is, it seems that the failures are more realisticly timed. in other words i hated the default 2002 failures, it just seemed that they would happen way to often!! even set at 98%i just flew a B736 for a va and here is my "score"ciao!Brian S

Well, I got my GF-AC, GF-LGT, GF-T8, and GF-166 from flightsimcentral.com.All is almost well :1. my standby LCD "middle" horizontal bars are not working, the active frequency LCD is working - makes it hard to read so I will be calling flightsimcentral tommorrow to return and get a replacement GF-1662. Have any of you assigned "engine start" to a T8 or P8 and got itto work? I tried assigning it one of my T8 switches and it doesn't seem to catch the ignition to turn the engine over.3. Its a semi VFR panel that looks great. It runs nicely also and works well with my FFG 757's. I think its my favorite until Chris A. gets his out. FYI : seems like a very good retailer. I got a new GoFlight 166 yesterday, but some of the LED bars aren't lighting.Maybe this is stardard for the industry, but flightsimcentral.com isshipping a replacement today ( although they are waiting for a newshipment from GoFlight because the 1st batch sold out ) before I even return the defective one.:-) Is that normal for returns of hardware to a e-retailer?Anyway, I have been so impressed with the equipment ( problem aside )I have bartered with my wife so as to order 2 more components to completely fill out the rack. Looks like I will be cleaning the catbox for a few months...but its worth it.Myles

Has anyone found FS2002 unrealistic in Pitch?? I have over 3000 hours PIC and own a Mooney 201 and find this program not very realistic regarding the actual charateristics of flight. If you use this program for recurrent practice of Instrument approaches ILS, VOR, GPS, the pitch is so sensitive it all but makes the Program worthless for training purposes.I have two problems with FS2002PRO.I) The pitch control when flying ILS approaches is too sensitive. I saw in tips that this can be corrected but the tip was not specific enough. It said to add a statement into control CFG file. However I can not find a folder with the name CONTROL. Has anyone out there solved this pitch …

Hi guys,Something I noticed the other night while landing at KLAX, my taxiways are missing! I mean, the yellow lines that are painted on the ground that represent the taxiways are gone.Could it be a setting that I flip by mistake?Any idea how to bring them back?Thanks in advance for your help.Hector B.

I have been doing a lot of vfr flying with the default ms aircraft but im getting bored of them. Im wondering fi there are any other GA aircraft out there that are freeware and are high quality.

Hi,I wonder if anyone else has this problem.Unless I have the engines running first and then shut down (MS FS2002 King Air), I do not get the full generator engine start sound. There a couple of wav files which do not get played and they are the very realsitic ones which form part of the start-up sequence.Generally speaking if I have the engines runnning, then shut them down and do another start, all the wav files play correctly.Any ideas?

I recently upgraded my DELL 8200 (which I bought with an OEM version of the NVidia GF3 64MB Ti200 in October 2001) with a new GF4 4600. I am selling the original GF3.For your information, I have overclocked the Ti200, although very little. I added about 25 MHz each to the memory and core clocks using NVMax. I have been "flying" using these settings for several months and have not had any problems with the card. I saw a modest performance boost and kept it there.The card itself is a NVidia branded OEM Card. Memory chips have "EliteMT" printed on them (for what that's worth). Card is cooled with a large heat sink but no independent fan. I am considering selling the card on …

Had a screen freeze in FS2k2 and had to to a hard reboot. Now anytime I try to do anyting with the flight planner it immediately exits to the desktop, faster than pressing ctrl-c. I am sure I corrupted a file during the reboot. Does anyone happen to know which one and how I can fix it? I am thinking of purchase, however can anyone tell me if the Pilots Operating Handbook that is available on their site is the same one that comes with the purchased product? It appears that it is quite lacking in information dealing specifically with 'flying' this aircraft vs. brief descriptions on the various instrumentation.

After reading the thread on vintage aircraft I downloaded Bill Lyons Bobcat and Canuck80. Does anyone know what other aircraft he's done. I did a search on avsim library and got no results. His VC's are really cool. Can't wait to see what he come's up with next.

Now, from what I remember about one of the initial Microsoft interviews concerning FS2002 was that FS2002 utilized no more technology than was available on the GeForce 2 cards. In fact, they did not recommend the GeForce 3 cards for that reason. With the GeForce 2 Ultra, I would be getting the best GeForce card available. It has 64Mb of DDR RAM which is twice what I am using now and would allow me to fly at 1600x1200x32 instead of the 1600x1200x16 which should improve my visual quality. Hi all,I wanted to put a line or mark in the idle / reverse position I created (using FSUIPC). We have a Dymo label maker at work so I got some white on clear tape and went silly!FYI you can also get other colour tapes (i.e. red on clear) so you could make it even more realistic.Andy (YSCB)
