Hi everyone, I seem to be kinda stuck here. I'm 16 years old, and take flight lessons with plans to be an airline pilot. I regularly fly FS2002, and I have a lot of great add-ons for it like the PSS Bus, 767 PIC, DF 737 and the PSS 747 and 777. My interest seems to be waning a little bit though. I'm not sure where it's coming from. I still definitely want to be a pilot, and I'm trying to get back into FS. I use FS2002 with a real nice system so frames aren't problem. Maybe I need to buy something new for FS, or maybe the problem isn't coming from FS interest, but from somewhere else....I don't know...I would appreciate any suggestionsTim

I'm a Hearing-impaired guy, and I highly prefer using the text captions in lessons, adventures, etc. In the beginner's adventures, the carrier landing one, I've tried everything, including Ctrl+Y as the briefing states (in the beginning brief) to activate the scrolling text captions so I can follow the landing officer's orders and land on the carrier. They never appear. Does anyone have any idea what to do here? The scrolling text shows up in the lessons ok, but I need something to work with here, or I might as well jump out without a parachute. HELP!

Some help guys on strange dual monitor start up problem. Every single time I wish to use the machine I have to start it twice. First time starts the AGP video card and attached monitor but the screen then goes blank and you cannot do anything but switch the machine off. Restarting immediatly from obviously a cold boot the machine starts the AGP andthen the PCI card and everything works fine from then on. I have tried changing the IRQ number for the second PCI card but the machine always allocates both to IRQ16. I have Windows XP, a Geforce2 GTS AGP card and a Velocity 128 PCI card.Nigel BarkerStillington

Just installed SFP and am having problems setting up the database.When I try to create a new one it will not let me select FS2002. What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated,Thanks Sean

I have searched and can not find answer to this question. Is there a way to add static airplanes at all or any given airport without having a flight plan attached? Are there any freeware programs available? I have used TTtools and Add a gate and AFCAD, but can't seem to increase the statics.Kevin

I recently bought Eddie Denney's RealScene mesh scenery. It looks terrific, but I found two odd occurences- elevated airports and lakes- floating treesI realize that the problem is the inaccuracy of the default MS elevations, but I was wondering if there are fixes for this. I have searched the web but can not find any discussion about this.There does not seem an easy way to contact Eddie Denny directly to see if a patch exists, or if he is working on one.I am also wondering if the FSGenesis scenery products also suffer from the same problems?Thanks,Scott

Andy's help (thanks!) got me to the point where I was able to control the wind (what power!) but I discovered that it wasn't doing what I put in - the wind direction wasn't accurate at all. Moving the indicator by 2 or 3 degrees would swing the sock almost 180 degrees but in other directions it wasn't as sensitive. It was never right though. I had to park next to the sock, put in a 50 knot wind and just experiment until it was across the strip. With a 100 knot crosswind I could make the 172 hover and that was fun for awhile. Hi,Everything seems to be OK with installation (and updates) and operations, but on the Wx radar display I do not get radar returns from heavy (or light) rains (even while using the test case at Guam).I can change range, the radar is sweeping, the gain is changable, tilt is operational, etc., but the display is black otherwise. Using Cacheman, I have Min/Max Disk Cache each set to 100 MB,chuck size = 4K, Name Cache = 6K - not sure what allthese do and what is the best way to use 640 MB for FS2002?Any thoughts on what the best setting would be?THanks,Myles

You see, I downloaded this FS2002 Delta Airline Boeing 737-800 just a while ago, but there wasn't any ATC airline info, so I tried adding the name of the airline "Delta" to the "atc_airline" in aircraft.cfgI also added it to the list of airlines in "airline.cfg", but when I started flying it again, the ATC still wouldn't recognize the airline name. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi there,I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a problem not being able to adjust/change the System/Settings >Date & Time in flightmax?I'm trying to display the wpt/ete information in one of the data blocks but I only get the name of the fix followed by a number like 0.0003487. My guess is it has something to do that I'm not able to set date/time.I already tried a clean reinstall but that didn't work either. The instructions seem simple enough but I have worked with the program for about 3 hours and I can NOT make a chart come up into FS2002.Would anyone that has figgered it out please tell me the steps you used to make it work? I've changed a few things in my system in the last few days which have improved my virtual flight experience to such a degree that I have to pass them on. First, I dumped my old RIVA TNT video card and replaced it with a GeForce3 Ti200. I have all the volume switches turned all the way up on every type of sound, including ATC, but when ATC talks i still can hardly hear them, is there a way to edit the sound.cfg or something like that to make it produce the sound louder? Can someone help me ??Enhanced AI traffic with TTool. That's fine, I could have more AI flights and aircraft that brought more reality in the Sim. However, once I lined up for take-off, there are several or more aircraft ahead of me(this is ok, that's what I wanted) and it really takes time for moving ahead since AI aircraft takes almost 10 minutes each to take-off from holding short of the active runway.I know ATC somehow control the flow including inbound flights on to the active runway but it is too long! Even if a landed aircraft cleared runway and next one is still 10 miles or more to land, the one No.1 take-off would not go into runway for her take-off.Is there w…
