I haven't had a lot of time to fly lately, but today (skipping work!), I decided to treat myself. And boy oh boy.. what a treat! If you haven't yet downloaded Allan's California Coast Scenery yet, do so! Three files make up this package; the scenery itself, static aircraft and then the AI and Flightplans file. Put it all together and you have an excellent add-on to FS2002. Airports included are:PRB Paso Robles Municipal AirportSBP San Luis Obispo AirportL52 Oceano AirportSMX Santa Maria AirportLPC Lompoc AirportVBG Vandenberg Airforce BaseIZA Santa Ynez AirportSBA Santa Barbara AirportGreat job Allan! I look forward to more of your work. You can find all three files in tod…

Hey Gang!I have seen a wonderful looking DC-3 with a real nice nose art of a posing lady. I think Heather uses it as part of her signature. Any clues where this beauty can be downloaded? Thanks in advance for any info.Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

I currently have a old (5 years) AOC 9Glr (19") CRT am looking to upgrade to a LCD monitor. How many are using a LCD monitor to run FS2002 on? I have been looking at the various manufactures and the ViewSonic VG191 (19") seems to be one of the better ones in that large of size. The contrast ratio is 500:1 (600:1 typ) and a Response Time of 25Ms. The monitors last year were in the 15-17" range and contrast ratios of 300:1 with response times of 35-50Ms. From what I have read, you want the highest contrast ratio available and the quickest (lowest Ms) in order to get a good image, especially when running an animation (game).Terry

The current thread about the NCE glideslope offset below prompted me to pull out the charts for Nice airport. It's one of my favorite airports in real life, so I've tried fly there several times in MSFS and of course the first thing I noticed was that the ILS for runway 5R is offset to the right, over the water. It seems to be a touchy subject, every time it comes up the person who mentions it always gets flamed and told to look at the chart, that that's how it is in real life. I don't remember it being like that when I've landed in NCE myself in RL, so I looked at the charts and there's nothing there about an offset either. The ILS for both runways are perfectly alig…

In the early days of aviation, navigation was accomplished by looking out the window and trying to identify some familiar object on the ground. As late as the early 1940s, maps were made available to military pilots that were almost completely void of the clutter of navigational aids. Mainly, because, except for an occasional ADF, there weren't any. The maps showed town, rivers, railroads, major roads, water towers and any thing of significance that might be spotted from the air. I am curious to know if there are any such maps available in the GA world today. Bob Dethlefsen490th Bomb.Sqdn 341st BGBurma Bridge Bustershttp://home.pacbell.net/bobeedee/Artist3.jpg

Hi y'all, normally I adjust the time to daytime, but last night I made a flight in the evening and my ground lighting is very dim. I have lighting effects slider at max. I seem to remember an addon night lighting utility but I can't find it in the library. Anyone know of this?..Thanks, JamesJ

I recently upgraded my PC from a 1.4Ghz AMD chip to a AMD 2100+ chip. I also added an additional harddrive. The computer and the sim, FS2002 work perfectly. The problem I am having is when I turn the PC on now, the PC start with no problem, I hear the fan running and the harddrive light comes on like it should, but my monitor won't come on. The only way to get the monitor to come on is to wait about 5 to 10 minutes and hit the reset button (restart the computer) and press any key onthe keyboard. It almost seems like the computer has to warm up before it can start. After I've been using the PC for ahwile I can turn it off and then turn it back on and it starts without …

I have had errors with Project AI planes and have deleted them and returned to my original traffic.Bgl file. However, the biggest aircraft i've seen as AI is a learjet, no 737,747, ETC. To make sure I made an AI flight in the 737 and went to the departure airport 4 minutes ahead of the departure time and all I saw were some King Airs that I normally see when I fly to that airport. Can anyone help me?Thanks in advanceGrant Z.

I just uploaded the American/Canadian Pacific Northwest 2nd Edition Scenery Catalog. It has all the stuff from the first listing I uploaded last Saturday; covering Alaska, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territory, British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon; but this revision is in word format and, besides containing a few more very nice files, most of listings now have "pictures" for your perusal. It is also more user friendly by having links directly to the download sites. Hope you enjoy it!Sorry I missed your newest upload Mr. Erickson. It will definitely be in the 3rd edition. I'll probably set a number, like twenty new add-ons, before releasing a new listing. Or more, if yo…

Does anyone know where I can get an SR-71 Blackbird? I know Richard Barker did one, but that can be downloaded. Nothing can from from flightsim.com, can it? It's annoying because you think you have the perfect plane, then it can't find the server! AAAHHHHHH!!! Anyway, I got off topic. Mike Stone, I know you're swamped with other requests right now, but maybe a Blackbird after the C-3? Please :-)?

...because I like to benchmark with someone who has more or less the same set-up as I have.Even after I thought I had it right I feel for certain that something is still not right.Compared to "slower" systems/cards I get the same results, whereas one 'should' expect a significant difference...I'm getting 25-27 fps in de default meigs. I've seen posts of people getting much more than that.Best evidence is the 3DMark2001SE which gives me a lousy (for the monet that is) 7500....looking at the charts it must be around 9000 for a TI4600.what I actually need is an fps under these conditions:- Geforce4 ti4600- P4 2ghz or close // 512K- Win XP (home or pro)- Meigs default start-u…

Hi all, A couple weeks ago I took a flight from Minneapolis St. Paul to Chicago O'Hare and listened in on the whole flight. It's because I took an United Airlines flight and they had ATC on one of their channels. It was great! Any way, when we pulled into O'Hare in the United alley, I heard a whole bunch of aircraft call up metering. For example, "Metering, United 792 at gate charlie 7 with november..." And then metering would say, "United 792, metering, monitor ground on 21.9 good day." Anyone know what metering actually does for the aircraft? I'm sure there is a simple answer, but I'd just like to know. Thanks in advance.Maul

I download the bounce fix for this addon but i still seem to either sink into the ground or bounce straight up in the air right around 30L. It's a great addon. I put tons of delta PAI traffic and it hardly effects the FPS.Great addon minus this one part I can't fix. I do have the proper flatten entry into the scenery.cfg. Anyone know of a fix ?Thanks :)Richard Dillon KATLSr First Officer www.jetstarairlines.com"Bill Grabowski's"ERJ-145 panel Beta TeamMD-11 panel Beta Team____________________________"Lets Roll" 9/11 Specs AMD 1600 XP 512MB DDR GF3 ti 200 64MB SBliveCh Products Yoke and Pedals(usb)Windows 2000 SP2

jerrycwo4Someone tried to make a better "pushback" truck and 'man' for FSAssist but the truck still had a "six sided" wheel and the man didn't really look any better to me than the default one and since the author wrote, what appeared to be his name on the front of the truck, I took the whole new update off with my "Go-Back" program and now I have the six sided wheeled truck in the default version. It was a good try, but wasn't worth the effort ( in my opinion). Jerry

. . . don't play it on the flight deck! Don't be alarmed if you see my DC-3 gently "wiggling" it's way through the sky. Nothing wrong with the plane, just me.I have a boom-box next to me playing some old Fats Domino tunes, which are great. Can't help but tap your foot to that stuff; the drawback is what you are tapping your foot on! Rudder pedals!Tends to put a bit of a wiggle in the flight. I'd hate to think what kind of flight performance would result were I to put in some of that "technoized" classical stuff. I love it but poor Vivaldi would be turning in his grave. On the other hand, I'll bet ole' Amadeus would love it. Playing it in flight would probably cause me t…

What I am curious about, for those of you who have it, is what difficulty setting do you have it on?I have it set at "Intermediate" for now and am getting final reports of "Good to Expert". Most of the complaints were due to passenger discomfort because of a heavy hand on the throttle. Me? Heavy handed? Shoot, you should see me cross-stitch.Is Intermediate too easy? Should I go to the "Expert" setting to get a more realistic evaluation?ThanksHeatherThe propeller is there to keep the pilot cool. Think not? Watch how much you sweat when it stops unexpectedly. ;) http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d18e8077527c2cb.jpg

has anyone been able to get the scenery to display properly in FS2002. I would like to have Rio De Janerio airport from their scenery in FS2002 but when I tried to install it and run the scenery I would get a lot of flashing textures and black spots on the ground. Maybe I am out of luck, but I thought I would ask to see if anyone else maybe knew of a fix, or maybe a patch??Thanx in advance

I know that there is a possibility to assign ground textures to certain areas e.g. Lennart's textures to Europe. I read an article about that one but cannot find it anymore.Anyone who knows how to do it ???Alex
