OK, neck on the block. I suspect, in the light of recent developments, that long-time freeware developer Roy Chaffin is close to the edge of a cliff by now - I know I would be. Roy, don't jump. My own view and, clearly, that of others, is that Roy made a mistake in his handling of the recent R4D-6 situation. He may not think so, who knows, but if he does, I can only guess at how uncomfortable he must feel today. We all make mistakes, but for any mistake to be so public is a sad thing. Picked up that cool Fokker F100 today from Project Fokker. Downloaded an awesome Mexicana F100 and flew from KLAX to MMPR (Puerto Vallarta).Wasnt sure what to expect on arrival cause I rarely if ever fly in Central or South America. Was a little disappointed to see this main tourist destination without even one cruise ship and very little detail beyond the default generic stuff. Made me go surf the Avsim libs for some good Mexican Scenery and was a little disappointed not to find much(?) Is there another place I should look to find something for Mexico scenery wise? I know Mexico City is probably around, but was thinking of some of the other smaller airports and touri…

If you are using your * CH FLIGHTSIM USB yoke and pedals * on a USB port, go get a USB PCI CARD. The difference on operation is unreal.I am not having any dropouts and my * yoke/pedals * are much smoother in operation.

Hi!! I have an Abit VP6 motherboard that I'm using on my Windows XP Professional computer. I have a:Single Pentium III 1.1GHz processor512MB RAM40 Gig Hard DriveATI GeForce 2 Graphics cardSoundblaster Live 5.1 Platinum audio card.The problem I'm having is that my FS2002 is running very slow. The 3D acceleration is enabled but the airplanes fly soooo slow that I can't even fly a 737 without having it take twice the time it takes to fly from one city to the next. The Sim rate is at normal and I don't know what else could be the issue in my case. I've been looking at the soon to be released Dreamfleet Cardinal... It's rare that I've ever been enticed by a Payware A/C (Abacus' fine Eclipse 500 was the last), but this Cardinal looks awesome!Does anyone have any experience with Dreamfleet? Do they require any background program or dll to load/run their aircraft in the 2K2 environment? Abacus requires a dll in the modules folder, which is fine as long as the dll doesn't cause stability problems.... Any issues with Dreamfleet?-John

Almost got out of fuel on a leg of my world tour over Asia, the default planner (MS Nav log) is completly wrong and I add lot of more fuel to plan for contingencies and Airport rerouting etc..., MS under calculates the need of fuel for this plane. Can somebody point me out to any source? Thanks

www.simatc.com is a website I found over the long holiday weekend. Its great for flightplanning purposes seems to have a really good weather section. I like the fact you can email "dispatch" a flight plan to you for later use. Cool feature.

I loaded an airport using ACAD it was was on those that actually added another airport to the same location so you wind up with say KLGA and KLG2, latter I thought better of what I had done but now can't find a way to remove KLG2 without reloading the defaults which means reloading again a whole lot of files.Anybody know how to decompile the *.blg file or how to remove a single airport from showing up in ATC?*note KLGA used as example only as I'm on a different machine right now

D/l'd the new GMAX Bombardier Learjet45 (Version 2) British Airways (virtual)by Mark Beaumont, along with the updated texture file.I'm assuming I'm missing something - the aircraft lettering (British Airways) and the aircraft numbering on the engine housing is somewhat blurred - on my system. I assume this version requires something I don't know about ? to have the lettering in focus ? And, with this type of model, is there anyway to change the aircraft number ?The wheels, new lighting, etc. all work great ! Imressive rendition. I inadvertently deleted a few files and now when I try to start FS2002 it comes up "MSFS2002 requires DX8a or higher. Please reinstall MSFS." I have uninstalled FS2002 and re-installed it along with Direct X 8a but it still wont start. Any ideas please?John

Can anyone tell me how to make the plane fly automatically? I want it to fly on the route that I created in Flight Planner. I can see the route on the GPS. But how do I make the aircraft fly on the green line? CAN YOU PLEASE HELP!

HiWith Windows XP, do you also need to start clean before using FS2K2? When I had Windows 98SE I used to start clean as my System Resources were high. How are System Resources handled with XP?

I am thinking about buying the big tower. I am aware that a lot of functions from the AP of DF737 and PSS Airbus cannot be set through GoFlight as they are programmed outside FS2002. But still for GA it seems to be a great thing.Anyone has that stuff? Does it make sense t buy it when you fly airliners like DF737 and PSS Busses most of the time?Alex

I would like to know what the buyers of the Cessna Golden Eagle haveto say about it. I see a lot of paint jobs for it. Is it a good buy?I hate to spend 20 or 25 dollars for every good aircraft fot this sim, but I flew the 421 for a few years. I'd like to know how it compares to say the Beech Baron. Comparison just for MSFS2002 only. I know how they compare in real life. But the sim has a good Baron. I like several of the airplanes. I don't like the King Air 350 at all. I want a good evaluation or two on the Golden Eagle. Thanks all.

I just got off flying the default Cessna Caravan up to 28,500 feet from Anchorage, Alaska. I tried to attach a screenshot, in the event folks thought I was kidding, but the AVSIM server kept giving me upload errors (only 64K pic), so sorry, no pic available as of this posting.Took ages to get there and SPD decayed steadily. Last few thousand feet climbed at average 100 fpm. Decided that FL285 was quite high enough since it's about the lowest possible safe cruise angle and even then, prolly stretching the envelope to breaking point.Doncha just love FS?Cheers!JS
