But I hope somebody here can help. In my new FS 2002, just installed, I am having a random problem during long autopilot flights. Without any input from me, the view will suddenly change from the cockpit view, to either a spot plane view, virtual cockpit view, or tower view. Eventually it will change back to cockpit view, sometimes, but sometimes to another view.I am working with Microsoft on this, and so far we have reduced my monitor's refresh rate, and updated my video card drivers. Nothing is working thus far. The MS guy said the installation of the program may have been corrupted, and we might try to uninstall then reinstall next.Anybody else heard of such a pro…

Hi folks, I really need some good technical feed back about which is the best GFX card for MS Flight Simulator 2002, if it's the ATI's Radeon 8500 64Mb or the nVidia GeForce 4 Ti4400 64Mb. I really need a quick reply as there is a weekly offer in a store near by, and I dont want to miss out on this. At the moment I got a GeForce 2 GTS, installed on a Pentium 3 1.1Ghz and 512Mb ram, and MSFS 2002 is not that quite smooth, especially with PSS's stuff, and huge textures. I just want the best possible frame-rate with the best visuals possible. So, which is the best, ATI or NVIDIA.Thanks to all in advance,Alex CumboLMML

Hi all,This is such a helpful forum, I'm motivated to ask:Could you suggest more freeware aircraft to download that are in the same league as i.e. the Debonair, Tigermoth, Stearman, Falcon 50, Tommahawk & F18 Hornet? The reason I ask is that I discover sites with good downloads being mentioned in this forum that I never even knew existed.(I find the Tigermoth to be one of the nicest and most realistic to fly aircraft out there!)Any and all help much appreciated.Regards,Hennie

http://www.indigocactus.com/Flightsim/AirI...adseaplanes.htmThank you Kellym for directing me to this site. They have some beautiful classic birds there that I'd like to download, aspecially the J2F6 "Duck".Only problem is that I can't download without entering a user name and password. However, when I went to register, a message tells me that registering is not necessary other than just sending them an email.I have done this, with no reply, and I still can't download. So, what has this bubble-head done wrong THIS time!Help!Heather

After three years, I'm looking to finally turf my twist rudder setup for a more realistic joystick / pedal setup. As all my flying is in aircraft that (in real life) have a joystick, so this is the setup I would prefer (as opposed to a yoke / pedal combination).Looking at the CH Pro USB pedals, the manufacturer's website says these pedals are not compatible with a "digital" joystick. Well, the joystick I would like to use these pedals with is a Microsoft Sidewinder joystick (the plain vanilla one - not the Precision 2). I actually have this joystick, but how can I tell whether it is analogue or digital? I used to think it was just a matter of determining whether the joyst…

Whenever I try to load the Mooney in "Create Flight" I get this error message from FS2K2: "Scenery library object not found".It gives me a few hex numbers belonging to the objects that are apparently missing: 0x47BC6DFB, 0x11D2F98A, 0x1000849C and 0x2AE60C5A.I reloaded the aircraft-folder from CD, but that didn't fix it.Does anyone know where to look on the CD for these missing objectsor is able to translate those hex-numbers to files in which these sceneries are so I can look them up and re-load them? Thanks for the help!R.

Hi guys! I've written a new multiplayer server for FS2002, and it's finally released!FSHost is a Windows-based server program for FS2002 multiplayer games that can be used in place of the server built into the game itself. It adds lots of new features, and since it uses very few system resources, it's perfect for unattended public servers as well as individuals hosting a game that they're also playing in.Features:[ul][li]Unlimited pilots and observers (as opposed to a limit of 16 in FS2002). Specific limits can also be set, if desired. [/li] [li] Kick players from the game.[/li] [li]Ban players by name or IP address, for a specific time or "forever".[/li] [li]Reject pl…

Hi, everyone-I have held off on adding anything to my artificial intelligence arsenal because 99.5% of my flights are flown while connected to VATSIM, and well, things would just get ugly, if you can picture the scene.Far more to the point........Is there a way to add Project AI planes to an airport as :-eek STATIC :-eek scenery? I would love to have traffic sitting at the gates when I land back home in San Francisco, or my usual trip to Las Vegas - both airports currently have the same look to them as Kai Tak.....Is anyone aware of a way to make Artificial Intelligence aircraft stationary? I'd love to find a way to add life to my favorite [email protected]…

I have a couple of questions on my new favorite GA plane, the 421C Golden Eagle. It has to do with trim settings. I usually try to transition from autopilot ALT hold to manual hand-fly on approach to the field, either after descending below 10000 or sometimes when I get the VATSIM approach clearance at about 2000-3000 feet. What I've noticed is that the autopilot ALT hold changes my nose trim setting and puts it all the way forward (-7) so by the time I disconnect the autopilot on approach my plane is competely out of trim. Hand-flying the descend and trying to bring the nose trim all the way from "-7" to "0" at the same time can a real pain.* Is there any way to setup th…

. Immediatly after installing them, I tried out FS2k2 and Counter-Strike. Both 'games' gained about 10% FPS and the visual quality is a nice improvement from the det 29.42s. Hope this helps some of you.Ryan-Flightpro08 :-coolTaxiwaysigns.com

I would post this in the General Discussion, but it seems to have dissapeared. :-hmmm Well I'm in High School and I have great interest in becoming an Airline Pilot. I would like to know, what steps to take in high school to have a better chance of getting hired (colleges, military, etc.). Anyone can reply, but I live in the USA, so I'm specifically interested in US carriers. Thanks!

Hi all,I DO aplogize if this was discussed before, but a search did not yield any results. Is there a way to permanently change the spotplane view distance for my aircraft - I'm rather tired of first selecting an aircraft, then changing the view parameters and then having to save the flight to retain this information.Any help much appreciated.Regards,Hennie

Hello there,My friend and I are in the middle of a cross-country, multi-player tour, and now we're stuck. I'm connected to the 'net through a dLink Cable/DSL router, which effectively hides my IP from the net (using NAT, I guess). Until recently, my friend didn't share an internet connection and therefore he could host a multiplayer session with a public IP that I could look up.Now, he's sitting behind the exact same type of router, and neither of us can talk to each other. I suspect it's because the routers are doing their job keeping each of our connections private, but without getting into public IPs (he can't because the connection he's sharing is someone else's - …

Those of you who faithfully downloaded Jorge Salas' and Matthias Lieberecht's latest panel offering - for the Antonov An-71 - will have noted that the aircraft "link" they refer to as being in the README is not there, as there ain't no README. Not in my download, anyway.I've tried Matthias' site, but it's closed. So any ideas, O trusty crew, where we can find an aircraft to do justice to the panel? Can't even find a 71 at theRussian Flightsim Group (http://www.flightsim.krsk.ru/index_e.htm) Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

I can't seem to find "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA!" in the AIM, but I have come very close to saying it. When we had Shaquile in one of our planes, he insisted that we request a max performance climb, and ATC gave us a little leash, all within the regs, mind you. Actually Departure said "YEEEEHHHAAAA, **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** you guys are climbing fast today!" My favorite "rapid altitude change" was in a Falcon 50EX coming back from the east coast late at night, the sector was very quiet and we were at FL430... Center left us up there long (we promised an expedicious decent in return for the favor).... He cleared us to 10,000ft, we asked if anyone was…

I have just downloaded the B33 Debonair and I am truly impressed with quality of this download. I usually shy away from downloads without VCs but this one is very good. Thanks Mr. Applegate and friends!Unfortunately the exterior view of the aircraft are colorless (no textures visible)in spot plane view (the plane and passengers are black), and I can't seem to trim the airplane out with the aileron trim (even though the aileron trim indication does move). My problem with the exterior model may be that I have a 16 MB video card (Voodoo 3)? If so is there a way I can make these textures low resolution so that they can be seen?Does Geof or anyone else out there have any sugge…

I am using CH Pro yoke for pan view. However, the entire cockpit turns, rather than just the view. It has worked ok for me in the past, but I have obviously made a change somewhere that is causing this.I have this line in fs2002.cfg POV_MOVE_EVENT_00=PAN_VIEWAny help much appreciated, Bob

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. Lately while playing FS2002 my computer crashes after about 2-5 minutes of sim time. All I hear is a high pitched tone coming from my computer case? I have FS2002 running on a Athlon 1400,512mb ddr ram, 40gig hd, with a live value sound card and a Nvidia 3Dforce2 MX-64 4XAGP video card. (I'm running WindowsXP). I've updated all the drivers and reinstalled FS2002 and defragmented my HD. Also I've got Norton Antivirus 2002 installed. the weird thing is my computer never used to have any trouble with FS2002. I've checked my HD for problems but nothing; all other games play normally? Can anyone help me? S Piper.....

Good Evening All,I've spent the last couple months of my free-time trying to teach myself some basic navigation techniques. Right now I'm working on VOR tracking in low-altitude airways. Tonight I made a mistake, and I'm hoping someone can set me straight. To set the stage, I was tracking the outbound radial from the Yakima VOR station (HDG285), and everything was going fine until I approached the KSEA ILS transmitter and tuned it in. This occured where I have circled in red below. Immediately the course deviation indicator told me I was too far right. I corrected my course to the left, but could not center on the signal, the CDI just kept indicating that the ILS was to th…
