I have a FS 2002 Pro problem that's driving me to distraction.If I do a clean install of FS and start the program at the end of theinstall everything works OK. When I quit FS to do something else the nexttime I try to start the program gets 10 seconds into the splash screen and freezes. The mouse still moves but I cannot get out of the program except rebooting or shutting down the computer.When the computer restarts, Windows finds file errors in FS with invalid date/time stamps.The only way to get FS running again is to do a clean install and then the problem starts all over again.I'm using a Dell R450 with 384 Megs Ram, 20 Meg HD, and a Nvidia GForce 3 TI 200 with 64 …

Hello , I used to frequent this board about a year ago , but many things have prevented me from pursuing my hobby over the past year. I bought MSFS2002. I like it a lot , especially the graphics. Just wondering, is there a service pack for this? If so could you reply with the web address for it? Also is there a tweak site? I remember reading about one but I lost the web address. Thanks

Read many positive reviews about the ED3D glasses + the IRtrack (hands free POV controller) so I decided to get them to upgrade my FS experience. Well, after messing around w/ them for about a month, my verdict is that they are both excellent.The 3D effect is awsome (even on the 767PIC 2D panel) and takeoffs and landings are really fun. Going back to the stock MS planes w/ the VC panels, 3D effect is simply amazing. The visual quality improves quite a bit, and the way the glare shield and MCP sticks out over the instrument panel is really neat. I am about to purchase the CH USB Pro Pedals. I have heard that these pedals are very sensitive to the touch, and that the over sensitivity cannot be ajusted adequately by simply moving the sensitivity slider in FS 2002. For those using these pedals, is the sensitivity comment correct? If yes, how have you corrected this problem?Thanks.Stanner

Hi there.As the website for the guys that have made the fokker 100s has reached its bandwith limit I thought Id post here and see if anyone can help.I downloaded all their planes yesterday each one installing in its own directory in my Fs2002 directory then I installed the panel and the sound. The problem is when I goto the aircraft selection panel they are there but then if I select the first plane which is Air Dolomiti it works ok but then whenever I select another plane like the Air France plane for example and click ok it then shows the Air Dolomiti plane again and then when I then goto use a plane apart from the air dolomiti one it then exits out of Flight sim.Anyone…

I would be obliged if someone explained to me what is the official policy regarding repaints of PAI models.I notice that there is a request for such repaints not to be uploaded to other sites, but only to the PAI website. Fine, I can understand why.Then, the repaint will be examined by PAI "officials", and will be either approved and used as an official PAI repaint scheme, or will be rejected and... then what? What happens to a rejected repaint?What if PAI rejects a scheme which others happen to like?Won't the designer of that scheme be allowed to upload his work to any site of his choice then, so that other users, who may not have the same taste as the PAI "officials", …

THought I read in a post about projectai releasing new FDE'sfor their planes so they wont do some of the funky stuff theydo. I downloaded the FS2000 version of KIAD ( i forget the author sorry ).It seems to work for the most part but needs to be flattened.It does not bounce but you can see the tip ends of trees and the runway textures seems to just go flat gray as you start to roll.Does any one have a fix for this.Maybe i could just remove the photo real ground textures and bgl ? I really love the plane and want to use it for some Regional traffic. Problem is that they do not show up as AI aircraft. I can replace the AC# with another b1900 and it works fine. Am I missing something?

Every time I load an aircraft at night that has light maps instead of night textures it will not show lit cabin windows or any thing of the sort. I am running a Voodoo3 graphics card. Can anyone help? thanks.Grant Z.

Hi All,I was fortunate enough to download and install Alaskan Cities by Joe Watson from todays AVSIM files.If you like flying in Alaska, I'd suggest you run and get it. He has added buildings, streets etc to about 38 Alaskan cities/towns. You can't imagine how much his scenery package improves an already beautiful sim flying area.I like to fly out of Palmer Municipal airport because it's in a great location for majestic mountain scenery. Also, there are loads of small airports to visit. I almost didn't recognize Palmer after installing Joe's scenery. Fantastic. Try it at dusk or dawn, lighting is wonderful. Also, I've installed mesh scenery which adds to the beauty …

This has probably been covered before but I could not get a hit on Search.I am using the MS Sidewinder FF joystick. When I fly on autopilot with altitude hold (etc.) and I move the joystick, even slightly, when I want to use the hat switch the aircraft responds to the joystick. In other words, the joystick overrides the A/P altitude hold.I don't think it is the MS joystick causing the problem since a friend has the Logitech force feedback joystick and has the same problem.Is there a solution to this or do we hope that the next release of FS will fix it?Bill

I am running Win XP Pro, FS2k2, have a Voodoo 3500 3d graphics card, 450 mhz processor, more than adequate RAM and hard drive, yet I can't get any better than 10.5 Frames per second even on minimal graphics in full screen mode. When I go to window mode, it MIGHT give me 4 fps. Graphics are extremely rough and choppy with no smooth edges at all...I flew around NY City as a test, and the Statue of Liberty was there...And then it just "disappeared"! Also, my CH Virtual Pilot pro, as well as a crappy joystick will both inexplainably quit working after take off resulting in a nose dive. Once they quit, I have to unplug them, replug them in and start all over. I went back to FS…

I've been running FS in, whatever the opposite of full screen is called, you know, inside a window...and I seem to be getting much, much higher frame rates and all-around performance. I thought full screen was supposed to offer higher performance? (Plus, when if freezes, I can Ctrl-Alt-Del.)

While on long flights with a B767, say after 35 minutes, my CH USB Flight yoke stops working. Each time I have to pause the sim and use Alt-Tab to go to Windows Me game controller configuration window. Each time I find that its says that the device is connected and "OK."When I use the properties tab and test the controls, they do not respond. I unplug the CH Yoke from my hub, then replug and after the CH Yoke is detected by Windows again, I have control of the yoke's control features again.
