When at major hubs with all the AI airline flightplans available it's hard to get a word in edgewise and then to top it off ATC wants to know if "I heard the last transmission" even though I didn't get a chance to acknowledge with all the chatter. Is there any way to put a delay between ATC messages that might prevent this? Thanks

I downloaded the kcgxnav1.zip file from the "other" site which has the added navaids for Meigs. I installed it as told. The NDB and VOR work OK but the ILS's don't. Has anyone successfully got this file to work with the ILS's? I sent e-mail to Diego De Fazi, the author, with no response. Thanks, Bob.

Hey all! Don't know if anyone recognizes my user name or not. But, I have been away from this hobby for quite a while.I'm not looking for a book, and I realize this may be a vague question, but, whats new?hehe. Can you all direct me to whats hot for this sim. Was it patched? errr, excuse me, but had a service release?Maybe point me to a couple quick, high quality add-ons that are the most popular? Thanks folks! In my quick browsing, I recognize many of you. Good to be back.

Is anybody using this setup for his or her computer. I really want to upgrade and am thinking about getting a top fo the line computer to get the job done. I will probably go with a Ti 4600 or ATI's latest 9700 card. I am currently using Windows ME, an AMD Athlon 1.2G Thunderbird with 512MB PC133 memory, and a GeForce256DDR 32MB videcard and am tired of the stutters, the frequent pauses, and ATC that sounds lie a broken record (skips and repeats) at times. Will moving the the latest and greatest processor hardware get me to this point, or should I wait until something faster comes along. I just want smoothness in my frames with no pauses and stutters.Any comments or su…

I was wondering whether it would be possible for someone, or maybe myself if it is easy, to create other aircraft, say 3 more F-16s doing a loop in formation, so you can fill in the slot position and do a formation loop along with them, just like the thunderbirds. I have a program for FS98, I believe, where you could tape your aircraft doing somthing in FS and import it into the program and make an AI plane do what you just did. I used it for formation flight all the time. IS there anything like this for FS2K2? Maybe that old program will still work.Oh well, any help?

I just received permission from Mike Hambly to use his sound packs with the upcoming release of the new Grumman Duck.I loved the one he made for the Gee Bee but he also recommended taking a look at one made for the Grumman Duck called:wbird.zipUnfortunately, it is at flightsim.com and I can't get in there.Would somebody who can, or already has it, be so kind as to mail it to me. It might take a while but there is no size limit on my mail.I'll be gone for a while this evening but will leave my system on in hopes that somebody can get it to me.Once I decide which one to use, Mike will go in and write a new cfg for it to include the water touchdown sounds.Getting better and …

Hi All:I have seen over the past few weeks alot of people complaining over great freeware planes that have been developed. There is nothing wrong with providing constructive critism, but it seem some people have gone over board. I cannot understand, by what right people have to start off complaining, over someone(s) hard work, dedication, time and effort into making works of art for all of us to enjoy. This simple amazes me. I think that this only applies to a minority of people out there, not the majority. Where are some peoples manners? Can we just stay a simple thanks, I appreciate what you did and achieved? Is that too hard? Yet, I see some people say,our flight dynam…

Hi all,I have uploaded new flight dynamics to my site, www.arrakis.es/~pacosan . These will reduce the sensitivity of the plane to control inputs, will provide faster respose of the engines to power lever variations and will correct the low torque readings during takeoff and at low speed. Please if you download this beta, don't forget to send me your feedback. I'm currently trying to get gauge self-illumination in the virtual cockpit, which seems to be possible, but hitted a problem: the light map hides the panel when switching on the lights (see pic):-hmmm. Anyone having ideas to solve the problem?Paco

Hello,I'm sure this must have been discussed to death long before when fs2k2 was just released. I was wondering if anyone compiled a list of things that are compatible between fs2k and fs2k2. I mean, many of the freeware aircrafts, sceneries and gauges for fs2k .. would they work in fs2k2 ? Perhaps many of them do and many don't. In that case, is it just a "try it and it may fly". Or are there any conversion utilities out there to make fs2k stuff compatible with fs2k2 ? Thanks.

I recently uploaded the first release of the Grumman Duck and within, the sound aliases to the MS Corsair. For myself, I have long used the DeHavilland Beaver for my radial sounds. Not any more!!If you have downloaded the Grumman Duck, this is an absolute MUST HAVE!!Mike Hambly's Sound Pack for the Gee Bee RacerFilename: ba_gbr.zipAvailable here at the AVSIM library. This is the most beautiful and awesome "single" engine radial sound pack I have yet to hear for FS2000/2002/MSCFS.I can't recommend it enough for the Grumman Duck or, for that matter, any other large, single-engined radial you may have in your hangar. The sound of this radial is to radials what the sound of a Ha…

Pretty plane, guys, but it's killing my frame rates by about 20-30% on a PIII 1 GHz, 640 MB RAM, GeForce II 64MB VideoCard system. Anyone else experiencing this? Could this be caused by the virtual cockpit textures? I hope not, as I do like to see the working panel gauges in front right view. Alex CN562ZKMSP - Minneapolis

Looking for a great taildragger for FS2002 with accurate flight dynamics. Anyone got any suggestions? Many Thanks

As most, if not all of you know by now, myself and a few others are working on making even better the Grumman Duck for a second release, hopefully real soon. What we're looking for now is a gauge. Bill Morad and Bob Familton have been doing some work on a new panel for the Duck. We may even have an option of the end-user being able to select between two models. Haven't decided yet on that.Below is an attachment of a sample of the nearly completed Bill Morad panel. The throttle quadrant has been moved off of the panel and a few other changes are still left to take place yet, possibly a more discreet button to select "Runway Info." All in all she's really looking great! What…

Can anyone shed more light on the EPR guage?I know that EPR stands for engine pressure ratio, and is a measure of the ratio between the engine's inlet and exhaust nozzles, and is one means of depicting the thrust the engine is developing.Any real jet pilots out there know if the indications for the EPR gauge seem realistic for the FS2002 jets?On the ground in a IFDG 757-200 I see 1.00 EPR with the engines off (expected), and EPRs > 1 when setting takeoff thrust (also expected). As I climb to altitude, however, I notice the gauge behave in a way I don't expect, falling back below 1. During a recent transoceanic flight, at FL390, the gauge read 0.45 when at 90% N1, and a…

Hi,After ATC gives me instructions to go downwind to a certain runway, and when I am downwind, I do not find any option to announce that I am downwind or on final and so on. FU3 had that feature and I assumed that those were standard call outs. Are they ?

I was listening to JFK center on my scanner this afternoon, and I heard an Air India 747 talking to one of the center's controllers and he said that he needed an additional 45 mins for his fuel dump.Outside of an emergency, why would an aircraft dump fuel?[br][br][div align=center][br][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Weather Image of the Day!

Thank you for your reply to my post regarding boycotting. However, I do not appreciate the tone of your reply although you have every right to present your point of view. Will you please be kind enough to remove me from your database as I have no further wish to participate in this, or any of Avsim's other, forums.Thank you.David

Has anyone ever done a high quality (Dream Fleet-like) version of the 152? My flying club owns several and I'm flying one towards my PPL. I'd love to practice in the sim using a model fairly close to the real thing. At this point I fly the Archer because it handles like a real plane and the numbers aren't too far off. It's just hard to convince myself that it's really a high-wing though!David

First of all, your A346 is marvelous. But V2 has some minor problems.Number one: on the Air Canada A346 the wings are see through at night.Number two: at cruise altitude the plane is over trimmed and so it's nose is pointing up. The pitch rudder is also pointed up at around 30 degrees. Does anyone else have this problems or is it just me?Thank you for your answers.

I recently finished painting Mike Stone's excellent B377 model in United Mainliner colors (OOOOC :)) United received B377's in 1950 and operated them exclusively in the Mainliner scheme. One more note, Al Lynch Jr. of SimuBuild has graciously given me MUCH more webspace at his new site, FSWorldOnline.com and I thank him very much for it. Also with the new host comes a new design! Please check it out and send me some feedback on it. The new URL is: http://www.fsworldonline.com/~timsfsstudioAnd here are the pics! http://www.fsworldonline.com/~timsfsstudio/temp/strat-1.jpghttp://www.fsworldonline.com/~timsfsstudio/temp/strat-2.jpghttp://www.fsworldonline.com/~timsfsstudio/…
