Read On:When these "T-Tail" aircraft are parked, why is the rear elevator and/or the rudder turned or left upright? It makes the aircraft look wierd like in this shot:Click here: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/227521/L/I am a stupid person so can someone explain this to me?

Some may be wondering if the new Scenery/Terrain SDK may mean a new Landclass Assistant. The short answer is no. The landclass related information brought forth in the new Terrain SDK was already discovered over the past year by a great group of dedicated simmers....no new tricks are shared by Microsoft.There is a new resample tool, which can now resample a landclass.raw file straight to a bgl. But the end result is exactly the same as a bgl created through my landclass.bat file used with the FS2000 Terrain SDK.There does seem to be a final listing of landclass types. I will look it over, and incorporate any changes into my upcoming next release of Landclass Assistant…

I noted that the setup instructions for the new Dash 8 talked about the need for something like "8 audio channels" or something.It says something like- "just go into the software that came with your audio card -- blah - blah - etc - etc !!!" :(OK - could somebody kindly advise me what this is all about -- I'll bet I'm not the only one who hasn't got a clue about this either!! :)Thanks Barry

Hey,Ive read some posts lately about better frames if you disable AGP, great tip. Also I found something that made me flip, I found a prog that increased my usable ram from 55% to 82%! that translated into a preinstall 17 fps to a post of 60 fps!!!! I maxed out everything and still get 15 fps! I have a fast proc. 1.75 GHz but my card sux 32mb prosavage. Its called RAMBOOSTER, I use it with CACHEMAN...i dont have links but easily googled. Im flying everywhere at 1000ft,having so much fun i havent d/l'd the new sdk's.let me know if you use it and like it...man i do,its like a new game!ODOG

I have this sound card that can represent different enviroments such as inside the Airplane... My question is has anyone experimented with proper sound detail or enviroments to make the experience as real as it sounds from the cockpit. Say you had a 5.1 surround sound setup where the front speaker could represent all radio communication... the left and right being engines rear being the airplane enviroment ( since i have Flight Deck Companion ) maybe the the flight crew working the flight with their over the speaker announcments. Maybe I do have to much time on my hands...lol but i have made the investment are there any such improvements out there??? I'll put it up …

This Dash-8 panel has pushed the bar higher once again.It's a beauty! I've only had one issue (haven't flown her yet- working on procedure) after waking up the hydraulics, as the docs put it, when I try and set the flaps , the flaps lever jumps back and forth; this is refected in the flaps indicater, with the needle juming back and forth. This is accompanied by a continuous clicking sound. Did i miss something in the Docs? cheers- and many thanks to the developers I can't imagine the effort that whent into this project:-)

I just got DF 737 and the package is superb. I bought maily for the panel and the FMC and that works great, Now is there any other freeware 737 model better than (or different) from DF. Is not that i think DF visual model is bad , is just that i remember seeing better models out there, now i don't know which are or where to find em.. And there's another question, wich 737 share the 400 cockpit. Thanks

The new Dash 8 comes with a sample flight which you place in the Flights folder.Trouble is - when you try to go startup this flight, you will get a "Can't initialise this aircraft " message.This is because the aircraft listed in the FLT file is incorrect. If you open the FLT file , and change the aircraft to this [Plane.0]Aircraft=Dash8-Q300 V1.001It will work. The aircraft listed in the FLT file was a test version of the Dash 8. Open the FLT file and you will see what I mean.Simple mistake on the part of the author.Barry

I bought an X45 mainly so I could put trim on one of the rotaries but I am having problems with it. Basically the signal from the stick vibrates. On the 2d cockpit in fs2002 I can see the trim wheel vibrating up and down. The same thing happens on the other axes but this isn't a problem in fs2002 although it is apparant in BOB. I am sure that other X45 users must have trim set to a rotary and would like to know whether they have the same problem or is it steady? I have tried numerous drivers and fixes and I am 99% convinced that the stick is faulty but I just want to know whether I am expecting too much from the stick. AllI just took the step. 50 years old and Im starting ground school. Im not sure how much lapsed time can occur after finishing ground school that I must complete the flying time. Anyone know? Thought it would be a good idea to get some time in the 172! I had completed ground school back in the late 60's and had about 30 hours in a J3. Never finished as I was off to Viet Nam. Never pursued afterwords but my love for aviation has never ceased. I have a Samsung 19" monitor and a GEForce4 Ti4200 set up on my AMD Athlon XP2000+ machine. I notice that on the panel I have been using that the panel "shakes" very slightly but at a high rate, especially noticeable in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, probably because that is one area with some gauges I frequently use and so pay more attention to this part of the screen. What would be causing this?? I am running the monitor at 100Hz, which makes the desktop perfectly smooth (it was flickering/shaking a bit at 75 Hertz), but in MSFS full screen mode the shaking is back :( BTW, I tried another monitor and had exactly the same thing hapen. Hi Elrond,after reading your post and having read all this virus attack stuff on flightsimmers I decided to download Outpost like you suggested. I installed it and started to look into it a bit. I am totally naive if it comes to those things. I have Norton Antivrus on my machine just in case and most of the time it is running when I am in the internet.After installing the program I click through the options. When I clicked attack detection a window opened and actually logged an intrusion every 30 seconds showing an IP and a portscan TCP 3021 and 3024. What the heck does this mean?. Am I attacked or is this maybe just something that has to do with online updating programs …

Here's a post to break the monopoly the new Dash-8 has over this forum. ;)Today I downloaded Bill Grabowski's ERJ-145 panel (I know, I'm a bit behind the times). It has to be the best panel I've ever seen! One problem though, I am trying to use it in conjunction with Mike Stone's ERJ-145, and certain problems come from this combination.1. The aircraft either pitches the nose viloently up during the takeoff roll, or turns to the left so the left wing scrapes the runway.2. Just a couple of comments. 1)This aircraft was provided FREE to the fligtsim community so while the aircraft may not be perfect in everyones eyes the pricecertainly is, 2)This is one aircraft you just don't jump into and takeoff...as with an complex model it is important to review the documentationfirst. 3)The aircraft itself is certainly no thing of beauty but has anyone ever seen what a real flight simulator looks like on the outside ?
