I have received a number of e-mails lately asking me about Anniette. Several people have noted that she isn't responding to e-mails any longer and they don't know where to go to get repaints done. It is my understanding that Anniette's creative talents are no longer available to the flight sim community at large. Anniette is one of the sweetest gals I have ever met (virtually anyway). Not to mention being a lot of fun. I am proud to call her my friend. She has done nothing but give, and has harmed noone. Yet a certain element here saw fit to decend on her like a pack of wolves. If you will, recall the recent incident where she was accused of "stealing" airline log…

.. .. .. for those that are interested, after a long night slaving over GMAX and swearing at the strange things that it does, the shape of the PT6 engine is slowly starting to take shape. Now if the designers had made it in a more "boxy" manner it would make my life much easier. In case you cannot guess from the pic there are a few hundred more polygon's in the Turbine engine than the original piston...Still a way to go before the "MODEL" is ready for painting - but at least it is starting to take shape. Guess that I had better get the "engineers" to swap the starboard engine before a test flight eh?

Hello,I have the 4sec "stutter bug" and I checked everything in trying to solve it. Sometimes I can make it better for a few hours but it returns. So I did some investigations and what did I found:When I start up FS2002 with a flight, some module wants access to the internet when FS is downloading the scenery textures. If I block the internet access with Zonealarm, FS2002 and my computer will hang after a few minutes. When I do not block internet access, the system will do every 4 seconds a read access to the disk, causing the stutter or a "hiccup", especially visible in "spot plane mode". This is a report of Zonealarm:The firewall has blocked an Internet multicast to you…

hello!my headache is at top!I have an Athlon 1700 with a good 3d card Hercules 3500 64 mb.I decided to install more RAM since the 128 MB seemed to be not completely sufficient to support the FS2002 capabilities with all the software settings display ( hardware, aircraft, scenery) at maximum levels.I bought new RAM (further 256 mb) and now, at 384 MB the situation is as follows : the FS2002 runs very fast, the spot view is superb without any stop, the virtual panel works very well with external sceneries running smoothly..BUT : flying it from the normal panel view, the frame rate falls down at impossible levels.. even a correct landing became impossible... The trouble…

On this, the first anniversary of Sept. 11th, we of course all wish to remember those that lost their lives that day, as well as those that fought a frequently hopeless battle to save those lives, many giving up their own in the process. But I want to take a moment to thank and pay tribute to another group of people who are all too frequently forgotten. I'm talking about the brave men and women of the armed forces. Since I am an American, I of course first refer to the U.S. military, but it applies to the military forces of all the free countries of world. Men and women who stand vigil, and offer their lives in defense of the freedom we all cherish. All too often, they…

I need help big time. i am having serious frame rate problems all of a sudden. i am currently getting around 5-7 fps after getting around 30fps for the last few months. specs for my computer are athlon 1200, ATI radeon 64meg video card, 768 megs ram, win XP. hope all you flight sim experts out there can give me a hand. the only thing it might be related to is that FSUIPC program i installed a few days ago but not really sure what is all of a sudden causing this frame rate hit.

Greetings all,I was wondering if anyone knows a way to turn off the extremely unrealistic "rain beading effect" in FS2002. I like the distant falling rain - this is at least semi-realistic. But the beading effect on the windshield is awful.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Best regards :-wave,Chris BrunnerCYVR

Has anyone been able to get Mad Dog 2000 or "The Pilot's L1011" to work in FS2002?I know about the "GaugesGauge_name.gau=1" being placed into the section of FS2002.cfg but for Mad Dog 2002, there is still an error generated by LAGOIntf.dll, which I presume controls states of all the gauges (which themselves are just dlls). Thanks for any info.

FYI, I have just uploaded my personal start-from-scratch "remake" of Pacific NW landclass files to the AVSIM library. I've made a special effort to capture the visual "feel" of cities/towns and countryside. I've kept the texture type count under 20 per section for faster load time and less memory usage. The area covers from Monterey, Ca on the south to above Vancouver, BC on the north as I included two northern california LC areas that I am currently working on. I hope you enjoy them.

Hi guys, first if all thx to all the guys who tried to talk me into it when I posted here a few days ago. It is the AFCSII and I got it at e-bay together with the Cirrus pedals for 429.- Euro. That sure was a bargain.Of course it is heavy duty and feels great and yes, control is way better than with the CH Yoke.Having said that call me crazy, but would I have payed the full money for it I would not be satisfied. It is still not possible even with this expensive stuff to push or pull the elevator in one smooth single motion. It is still a little jumpy as there is still a little sticky friction to overcome.Well, the stuff is used and maybe not well maintained. Is there any re…

This has to be the most amazing motion simulator/display technology I've ever seen...Its based around the new Elumens 180 degree parabolic projection system. On top of that, it builds in a true motion platform! You have to check out the videos to see what this thing is capable of. I'd love to hear any feedback from anyone who's tried either the display itself or the full motion sim:Elumens VisionDome Parabolic Display Systemhttp://www.elumens.comCobra Pneumatic Motion Simulatorhttp://members.cox.net/rwcobraHere's a few pics:The VisionDomehttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d7c9f1f3a2255d4.jpgThe Cobra Motion Platformhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d7c9f28…

My hats off to Spirit Airlines' Vice Chairman, Mark Kahan, for his decision to promote flight on this, the first anniversary of the September 11th Attacks, by handing out some 13,000 free airline tickets!Great marketing decision, but also nice to see an airline doing it's part in an attempt to help prop up the industry.
