Hello,I suggest you do not install "Weather Maker Personal Edition" that was advertised on AVSIM's front page. The program itself is fine, but the installer is messed up. After installing the program, my MS Explorer no longer works properly. Whenever I click on a link that opens a new window it will just hang. A few other people have reported the same problem. If anyone knows of a fix I'd sure like to know. I've tried everything from the knowledge base on the MS site. Nothing worked so far...Thanks, Kenny B

If anyone is interested in flying in the 'Golden Age of Aviation', I've made vintage Northwest flight plans for AI using some original NW time tables I collect. So far I've made tables for 1941 and 1949. These flight plans use actual take off times and destinations. In 1941 NW used DC-3's and Lockheed 10a's. Both are available in NW colors (unfortunatley they are from an early version of FS and the DC-3 is in the wrong paint scheme... If anyone is interested in updating these airplanes... would be GREATLY appreciated). In 1949 NW flew the B-377 and Martin 2-0-2's for passenger service, and DC-4 and DC-3's for cargo. All of these aircraft are available in the correct NW …

I discovered a problems with the terrain when flying into Lansing MI today. I did a search on this site on this topic but didn't come up with anything.A meteor has aparently struck the approach end of runway 6 creating a crator 850 feet deep. It drug the taxiway, tarmac and several buildings down with it. There is no telling how many lives were lost.It did however make a beautiful waterfall.I Hope the picture accompanies this text, this is my first attempt at posting a picture.Has anyone else seen this anomally? Is there a fix? Check Six !!!!!Rick

Hi all,I installed the new Dash 7 this morning. I started MSFS and had just started up the engines when I tried to switch from windowed to full-screen view. This caused my system to lock up solid. Now when I try to start with the Dash 7, MSFS crashes back to the desktop. The other aircraft appear to be fine (so far). I made the foolish mistake (in my opinion) to extract directly into the MSFS2K2 root folder (rather than extract to a seperate folder then add everything myself). Rather than try to fish everything back out and reinstall, I thought I would just try and reinstall over the first installation. Are there any other ideas that anyone has?Edit - I fixed the problem …

A number of you have emailed me directly concerning the link in last week's 'Bear's Cave' to the "Red Arrows" package. Just to make it clear to all, the REDPACK6.ZIP file currently referenced (to date, that is ... it may get corrected eventually) is the UPGRADE pack. You need REDPACK.ZIP (or its parts, which are separately available downloads) for REDPACK6.ZIP to do anything for you. Hope this is clear. I've emailed the powers-that-be a couple of times but despite a crisp response the wrong link is still there. Sorry.I am sure I speak for Mikko, Kari, Eric, Matt and Mike, however, when I say how excited we were to receive the legendary Bear's 'Gold Award' and Recomme…

Hi all,I have marked as a bookmark a site named Project AI, however, after reading about a recent Delta download that is available, I went to that site and clicked on "Downloads" only to be told there is nothing to be downloaded at this time.Could someone help me to get to the correct site or is this download available on AVSIM?Thanks,Mike

HiThe reason i'm not posting this in the Hangar forum is because it's too slow there and I need this quick. My mom is leaving to Romania on Thursday and she will have a stop at Schiphol. I am looking for a terminal map of Schiphol so I can give her. I want her to have a stress-free stop there so I want to make it easier for her. A map that shows restaurants, toilets, departure gate numbers as well so she can find her connecting flight. I know that there are probably planty of signs everywhere in the airport but you have not met my mother :D So anyone please...I have to have a map quickly. :-hahTake careMike

I have seen that a few simmers lurking around these forums are using this throttle with FS2002, and I was wondering if anyone has been able to get the throttles to work independantly for each engine (on two engine aircraft only). Right now I can only get the right throttle to work, and am doubtful that its even possible. I am using it with a VP Pro yoke and regular CH Pedals. I vaguely remember an axes limitation, but cant remember details on it. Thanks for your help in advance....Craig

Hi happy Simmers,Well here is another Livery for Lou Volland's B707 - A QANTAS V-Jet style for VH-EBF - this one took some time to paint up but I think she came out all right.http://www.gjsmith.com/images/B707-QANTAS-4.jpgShe is available on the B707 page:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/b707.htmAlso revamped a bit of the Boeing N70700 texture - found a few more shots of her from above front. Therefore fixed the forward part of the fuselage area and added the number to the top right wing. She of course is also available on the B707 page.Don't forget - if your bored and are looking for textures for your flying pleasure there are now 268 textures available FREE on my Textu…

Hi all! Many of you AFG 737-700 users may have this same problem/or issue. Pictured below is an Aloha Airlines 737-700 from AFG. What happened...............Can you fill me in? Then, my FS Freezes, or entire PC altogether. Anybody? I asked AFG in the forums, but they never answer, or perhaps the dont have a clue. I appreciate any input, Thanks!

I ordered my GF4 4200ti a week or so ago - and have read the threads recently regarding upgrades with some interest, although they have generally lacked screenshots. Just to show you what a difference the upgrade makes I took some last minute screenshots with my old GF2MX and then duplicated them with the GF4 4200ti (after using NVMAX to retune it).......The pictures are as follows::::Birmingham (UK) - GF2MX / GF4 4200tiAnchorage - GF2MX / GF4 4200tiThe GF2MX shots represent the best quality I could get out of the card. Still working on the GF4 !!!!Hope you agree there is a vast improvement.. .. ..

I am all of a sudden NOT getting any lighting on the fuselage sides during dusk. The lights are on but the night lit fuselage sides etc will not display until it is all the way dark. What Im talking about are the night lit bitmaps with the light splash from the landing and wing lights, not the gmax type night lighting. Before it was working during the dusk timeframe and I have always had that. Im thinking it may be something with my GF4 but Im not really sure. I have had the GF4 for about a month and not been flying at night a whole lot in the sim. Anyone have any ideas?? At a loss here. Hornit

Hey guys, I am starting a new scenery project and I decided to try my hand at the overseas area instaead of the USoA. I found a wonderful spot for VFR flying in Ireland and with my runway had to elevate it a little more and it looks great, but before i really got into it wanted to know how many people use a mesh of the area and which one, so as to make it compatable. Any thoughts guys? Thanks, Michael

I posted this here because there is not much traffic in the SB support forum.I have downloaded and installed the SB programme - got it via the VATSIM website (actually the file is hosted at AVSIM) -- I also got a very comprehensive tutorial by Daniel Hill which says that version 2.3.5 MUST be used for FS2002 . However , in the documentation that came with the download , there is a file REALASE NOTES.RTF which says that this build is 2.3.4.So what gives? - is there such an animal as SB 2.3.5 and , if so, where can I get it?.Barry

Greetings,I installed the PAI Delta pack yesterday and have been enjoying that very much, thanks to everyone involved in that project... Anyway, I live about 15 miles Northeast of Portland International Jetport, Portland, Maine and, depending on weather conditions, air traffic comes directly over my house. I just looked out my window and saw a Delta MD-80/83 (not too sure here) so I loaded up FS2002 and taxied to hold short of runway 29 and waited. Sure enough, a few minutes later here comes a Delta jet in for landing. I took the picture below just before it landed.Sorry to ramble on, but this just struck me as one of those "this is too cool" moments.Take care,Jon

Hi folks. Does anyone know if the "realistic night lighting" http://ftp.avsim.com/library/esearch.php?C...Root&DLID=19520 will work on the Dreamfleet 737? I love the DF737, but it apparently uses FS2000 lighting...IE you can't see the lights on the runway from the cockpit. I'd love to add these lights (have them on my other planes) but don't wanna mess up the DF737 in the process.

Is there a utility or process to remove both the "Brakes" and the "Overspeed Warning" fonts from the panel window for FS2002 and XP? I have checked the library to no avail.Thanks.Chris

While I admire and thank all creators of Fsim add-ons for their work , I have to ask a question of scenery creators. I have a P3-1000 with 512 meg RAM - not the most powerful of machines I know -- but I am quite happy with it when using it with "most" areas of default scenery. But I have given up downloading addon y because I am finding that most of them are so framerate unfriendly to be actually unuseable. Now , I know others will say that they have downloaded scenery that works fine -- I might just be a bit unlucky. The scenery areas I am mainly referring to have been in my own country of Australia. Yesterday I downloaded and installed a local airport which I was VERY …

I never had this problem before, just after I installed PIC767 and merged it with my POSKY 767. In the cockpit view I get a really annoying "clicking" sound (as if the sound was coming from an old LP) and whenever ATC sends in a message it comes slow almost with a robotic voice... I tried lowering the sound quality, reducing the ammount of ATC messsages, freeing more memory... nothing worked.Did any of you guys ever had the same problem??? It's so damn annoying...Just for the records, my sound card is my Soyo Dragon K7V motherboard card. It's quite lovely for a built in sound card and it never gave me problems... oh and when I checked I still had about 40% of my 256Mb RAM…

After a quick test of the 40.52 drivers I've found some good news and, for me at least, some bad news. The good news is that they may be, from a 3DMark2001SE perspective, the fastest yet. The bad news is that, while the texture rendering is superb, from an FS2002 perspective they may be the slowest yet. On a comparison against the 30.82's the 3DMark2001SE numbers with the system not overclocked were 30.82's = 10668 and 40.52's = 11825. But...with tests in FS2002, the average framerate numbers dropped from 32 fps for the 30.82's down to 25 fps for the 40.52's. I'm going to strip out (again) all the driver remnants and retest these, but I'd be interested in hearing what any…
