  2. have been able to successfully install Squarkbox and connect to the Vatsim network -- but could not get the chat box to come up in my FS2002 screen. The only way I could access the box to talk to ATC was to minimize FS2002 each time. But I have found a great "fix" in the form of a dll file that you put into the modules folder that allows you to run a Squarkbox host programme from within FS2002 itself . You do not run the Squarkbox host which comes with the standard Squarkbox download.Voila!!!! :)BarryPS How come I only found this in some "obscure" South African website - no mention of it anywhere else in the main Vatsim websites

James Eden sent me the "beta" vc etc. for the Deb a few minutes ago (yes at this point I am a beta tester!). All I can say is amazing-not only in quality in every respect but I think James has scored a first!! Go to the spot plane view-hit the rudder pedals and the pilots head moves from left to right-hit the elevator and it moves up and down! (OK-I look a little comatose-probably a few beers when I took the shot-lol-disclamer in front) but wow-this is amazing stuff!http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif

Yes, that is right. The second view on pressing the "W" key will give you the gauges only on the bottom of the screen. Mine have disappeared. I do not know how or why. They were working okay. Downloaded a third party aircraft and did not mess with the .cfg of fs2002 and now that particular view is gone from all aircraft, third party and default. Any ideas?

Hi folks,The callsign "Cathay", have anyone used it before? I found it weird when I use this callsign. There are times controllers refer me as "China Southern". Not only my plane, AI traffic too. Controllers messed it up, only pilots (that's me and AI traffic ;) get it right. But not all controllers get it wrong though. Any solutions? Thanks!

Hi guys, you have to love the SF260. Just when FS2002 was in danger of getting a little boring to me ( I even found myself in front of the TV one evening instead of flying) I found a new challenge. But: the explanations of the aerobatic maneuvers in the manual are a little thin. Is there a good website or maybe a book which goes a little more deep? Flying from the VC with trackIR most of the time it would be especially important for me how to check if the manouvre is excecuted properly from the inside of the plane, rather than in spot view. Or e.g. how do I use the rudder during a 4stop barrel roll etc.etc.Any suggestions?Alex

Oh, that's easy... you just taxi out to the end of the runway, apply the brakes, apply afterburner and adjustthe stick until you're balanced on the rear wheels...Bet those Air Force guys can't do that!!! *:-*John

Well, At least I hope when it gets here it ain't so strong. Maybe just enough to get a day or two off!! lol Hopefully the power will stay on and I can fly FS2K2 with real weather on, in my C-172!! Thats always fun.By the way Lili at the moment is just a Tropical Storm. They say it's weakening, but who know by the time its gets here. When was the weather channel right before!!! Last time we had a full fledged hurricane my power was out for two weeks, had to move out. I'd like to avoid that if possible!!Anyway back to work. I'll look at the weather at lunch.http://www.forefrontgrp.com/jayssig.jpg"There is an art . . . to flying. The knack lies in learning how to thr…

Hi all,This behaviour is occurring at Congonhas (Brazilian airport). This airport has 2 parallel runways: 17R/35L (default active runway) and 17L/35R. The runway 17R/35L is bigger than runway 17L/35R and the 17L end is the unique end equipped with ILS.I would like to have the 2 runways in use: 17R/35L for landings and 17R/35L for departures, so I opened AFCAD (version 1.2.2), selected the Congonhas airport and do the following:* Double-click on runway 17R/35L* Check the 'Closed for Takeoff' checkboxes for both ends of this runway* Double-click on runway 17L/35R* Check the 'Closed for Landing' checkboxes for both ends of this runway* Save and run FS2K2Ok, so what I saw?I ha…

  13. The problem with force feedback and YeoDesigns 737-200 appears to be in the air file.People that have a force feedback joystick have described this problem in many different ways. "People stating that if they have a MS Force feedback joystick they find themselves in an uncontrollable situation if an upper wind gust pushes the plane past mach .80 or around 510 knots at 32,000 feet (or close to the aircraft's speed limit at any given altitude, you don't even have to quite reach it to get into trouble)""I have a force feed back joystick, and around 320 knots, it starts to shake, indicating an over stress situation and a few seconds later the plane breaks up"Fix: Go to:http…

Has anyone heard anything on the PSS Dash-8? Any general release time? Next month? Before Christmas? After Christmas?I'd ask this in the PSS forum, (actually I have asked this), but asking about release dates is tabboo and all such posts are moderated.

Hi there guys, here's Michael from Italy. I happened to use the utility from Luciano Napolitano: key2mouse. As you know, it transform mouse entries in keyboard entries ideal for use with plane like PSS 747-400 or 737-400 Dreamfleet where a lot of buttons have to be used. Well, searching for keys to use I encounter on problem using the F10 key. I canceled all the 'F' keys assignments due to the fact that I use joystick and throttle. Every F key is now usable for a new personal assignment except for the F10 key. I don't use the on-screen kneeboard, so I canceled the F10 assignment fot it too, but still it look unusable. In particular, whne in the simulator and running (or b…

I've used both Visual Flight and Lago mesh scenery for the UK for a short while so, to help anyone thinking of purchasing these, see the attached picture.I live in East Anglia so this region is important to me.The top 3 pictures are of where Hunstanton, Norfolk would be as you enter The Wash. As you can see, only Visual Flight shows some elevation where the cliffs would be. This might be important when they release the photo scenery shortly as these cliffs are made up of red and white chalky rock. This would look on laying on the ground! However Lago have much better low rolling hills in Essex. The bottom 3 pictures in my opinion, demonstrates Lago's overall superiority in…

What's the best resolution that is practical with these shutter glasses, on a high end Ti4600 card? How is the brightness/contrast? I tried them a year ago with a Radeon 64 but they did not look good. I found the image interlaced in appearance, and much dimmer. I was running them at 1024 x 768 x 32 with refresh of 120 if I recall.Noel

FSHost 2.2 is now available for download.FSHost is a free Windows-based server program for FS2002 multiplayer games that can be used in place of the server built into the game itself.
