Hi All,I am getting sound studders while flying through clouds with the 40.41 and the 40.71 drivers. It gets worse when looking to the side and back in 2D cockpits such as the Dash 7. The only settings I have changed from the default is Ansitropic to 1 and AA to 4s. I went back to the 30.82's and all is fine with the sound, but of course I am losing the advantages of the later drivers. Anyone notice this and is there a fix?Win XPAGP disabled in DirectXMSI KT3 Ultra MoboAMD XP2000+1GB DDR PC2100Leadtek ti4400Thanks,Ken

This is John Murchisons fine little 737. Its not the most detailed model, but it has the shape correct and its great on framerates. Im not real thrilled with other 737's out there right now. There seems to be something really weird with the Yeodesigns one, just cant put my finger on it right now. Painted this one up in...you guessed it!, my favorite colors :) Im going to post this one and a United old colors version shortly. This aircraft and a few others along with some fine Air New Zealand repaints are available at http://www.arnz.cjb.net/ Also some really nice scenery there too!Hornithttp://www.flightsimmers.net/airport/hornit/737.jpg

When I try to do the usual Disk defrag from windows, I get an error message telling me that I have to run the Scan disk first... Ok, when I trty to run the Scan Disk... It stops and start over again and again, then finally it gives the message that I am running a program that is over writing the disk, and prompts me to quit the program and run the Scan again...there's nothing like antivirus or something running in the background, because I even unistalled the antivirus software!!Please if somebody…

To what extent does FS2002 use DirectSound3D (as opposed to the 2D sound produced by DirectSound)? I'm wondering whether it is worth my while upgrading my sound system for FS2002. Currently I'm using on-board sound - C-Media 8738-based on an Asus MB with VxD drivers under W98SE (just in case anybody's using WDM drivers under W98SE, I found that when using that driver FS2K2 frame rates took a real hit on my system - confirmed by Audio Winbench 99's CPU utilisation figures, which were 2-3 times higher with the WDM drivers).ThanksPhil

Hey Gang!Well! It is with sadness and regret that I have to de-activate my Simflyers KDFW scenery from my system. This scenery is beautiful and the folks at Simflyers did a magnificent job with it, but it wreacks hell with my frame rates. I can no longer fly in the Dallas area without my system being brought down to it's knees. DFW is my home area and therefore I home out of DFW for my virtual airline and most of my flights in FS2002.I do not regret paying for it because they have actually done a great job with other airports, which I own, like KEWR, KPHL, and KMCO to name a few. I think the KDFW airport is so hughe and requires so much detail that my machine has a h…

  15. That beautiful Beriev uploaded today (fsfreeware.com, I think) had me digging in the hangar for my An-24RV. Trouble is, when I converted it to FS2K2, I got a model file error. Ran MDL repair, no joy. Can't load the 'plane. The last update to the Russian Flightsim page was in May 2001. Have searched around and emailed for news, but no reply yet. Anyone have any intelligence on this one? It is/was a lovely model in FS2000 and I'd love to carry on flying her.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

So, I reached the point where I simply had it with non smooth addon sceneries. :-(I just deleted each and every addon airport ! :-) Since I like more to have accurate aircraft/liveries at the airport, and the fact that FS2002 already comes with quite good default airports, the need of addon airports is zero. :-)This alows me to add more AI aircraft without having to takeoff or land on an jumpy/hacking airport. :-)My specs are:Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 Ghz512 Mb SDRamGeForce 2 GTS 32 MbFly safe, :-waveStaffan AhlbergFreeware Flight Group

Just so you know the "FSProject" website is now out of action, as (more importantly) is my e-mail address from the README of the Grumman Mallard. The e-mail AND site should be moving over to a "Hangar" here - as soon as it is ready to move in, until then anyone with problems should be able to get me in this forum.Apologies if this causes anyone problems,

I might have fallen asleep at some point in time and missed it, but is there such a bird out there? GMAX for use as AI?And the ultimate would be one with a dynamic VC?Huh?!Along with the B727, probably the most prolific medium sized jetliner. It's amazing I can't find one suited to 2K2.Or am I still asleep? Thanks FolksRick

Is anyone aware of any tools for restructuring the ATC engine in FS2002?I don't know how well it works in the US but in Europe it does not differentiate between a small airfield and an ACC. You can be working Centre (correctly) one minute and then they transfer you to a minor airfield that should have a top limit of 2000ft. After a few seconds they transfer you back to Centre again. Annoying? YES!!!It should be easy enough to redefine the ATC boundaries for accurate simulation but is any work being done in this area?

Well I changed my GF2 64MB Ultra to a Leadtek GF4 4200 today. First of all, it is ALOT clearer view I must say. I run with ALL sliders maxed out on everything, running 1280X1024 res. I admit the fps only went up by 1 or 2 at most. Default Meigs daytime in the 172, no cloud I was getting 21 fps.I am going to adding 256MB more RAM and switching to XP tonite or tomorrow, so I'll post on the outcome. I'll also note that by changing the videocard ALONE my 3D score went from 4300 up to 8000, and thats using the old 30.82 Win98 drivers!!ChrisTBird 1200 @ 1400 on KT7A512MB PC133GF4 4200 128MB

i was doing some slewing around in 2k2 several days ago and i thought wouldn't it be great if ms would bring out an atc program that would tie in with 2k2, so that you could be an air traffic controller at any aiport in 2k2 (that supports atc, etc) and be any division (i dont think thats the correct word but) like ground, tower, clearence, departure, approach and center and be able to interact with the other ai controllers as well as online with other human controllers, etc. so lets say 3 or 4 of ya get together and go online one would be tower, ground, clearance, and departure at one airport all with other ai controllers and pilots, i think this would take off really wel…
