I officially despise my reflexes.Or, Flight Simulator's controls. I'm not sure which yet.Random thoughts:I'm on a P2/450, with a Riva TNT 128MB. No joystick, as this is my first flight sim outside of the OLD "Aces" sims from Dynamix from back in the early 90s (I've sustained myself on strategy games otherwise), and I'm rather unsure about the whole idea. (And of COURSE I got Pro edition for Xmas...) This is my old, crappy PC. The newer one I have at school is far better (GeForce 4 Ti 4200, 512MB RAM, P4/2Ghz. While having a wander through my CMOS i noticed the FSB to be set at 50% with the option of either leaving it as it was (default), 0% or 100%.Should i turn it up?

When using the FS2002 pushback (shift+P) and the MelJet 777 the "turn" option (shift+P+1,2) doesn't work. The aircraft just moves straight backward until I stop it. has anyone else had this problem occur? Solutions/suggestions?Thanks!!John-PaulToronto

hi alljust started online flying.had flightsims since FS1,can't see any AI aircraft.i'm sure i read somewhere that AI doesn't display when you're flying online.if i went to a busier area would i see other aircraft,if other people were online in that area.bit confused about what i should or shouldn't see... thx steve

Well as long as the CPU arrives as scheduled tomorrow I will do some comparisons of the new thoroughbred running at stock 2.13 GHz(XP2600) as well as 2.3-4 GHz speeds (on air) as this has been touted as a very decent and cool overclocker.Also will test 266 and 333 FSB. The new prices told me it was time to grab one, well that and the new CS727 :-lol, though it will be my last cpu upgrade for some time as that cpu will max out the old Epox MB.Anyone else running the new T-bred in a KT333 board?

Like many others trying to get the best performance, I have spent many hours tweeking, installing drivers, and trying every suggestion that someone enters. I am using a 2 year old 750 clone. I have an old 3D prophet DDR-DVI video board and sound blaster live sound board. I ran for 2 years with 98SE and never really was too happy with the Sims performace like many others. Hello,I did upgrade my PC to XP PRO, Pentium 2.4 , 1 Gbyte memory, video gf4 ti 4600. Several times I receive (even after power on-off) the following error message when I start FS2002 " your computer does not have enought memory available for flight simulator to run. Flight simulator will now exit" .....When I check with Alt+Ctrl+delete there is more than 700 K memory available.Any recommendation?

Hi there,my previous posting (some hours ago) seems to be lost. So again:I want to fly medium and long range flights with my 737. I also want to fly along real airways. The airways are actualized once every month with the new AIRAC cycles.Planning a flight with PMFLIGHTPLANNER gives me actual routes. If I have actual maps and and actual AIRAC cycle on my FMS, i can make it "as real as it gets".But the navaids and fixes and airways are often not defined in FS2002 (i would like to use FS2002 flightplans in order to have ATC control). Hi there.I want to fly IFR, and this as realistic as possible. So i do my flightplans with PMFlightplanner on the internet. I get a nice flightplan, and weather information etc. basing on real navigation and weather data.But then i go to FS2002: I see, that the airways in FS2002 are often not there, fixes do miss etc. pp, and the real weather download of FS2002 is a problem, too.The thing i want is:A set of real world maps (and a corresponding navigation database in FS2002).AIRAC seemed to be to solution: But can I update FS2002 with an AIRAC cycle? Dear all, I noticed some strange behaviour with my Flight Sim the past couple weeks. When flying aircraft with "high res" textures (1024x1024) Like Mel's new 777, the textures look good up close, but behave.. strange when looking at them from 2-3 zoom levels back.I noticed this behaviour on buildings as well. It's less noticable on aircraft with lower res textures (512x512) I've attached two pics, both taken at 2-3 zoom back from the aircraft. These were taken at 1024x768 resolution, and I cut the aircraft from the background, these are *not* resized. I don't know how to describe it, so please take a look. HiI recently removed CFS3 from my PC.Afterwards i have had problems with fs2k2, when i switch from full screen to windows desktop using the windows key on my keyboard while fsim is running,if i go back to fsim i get a frozen view with half the screen corrupted.The menus also are corrupted with black backgrounds instead of grey.If i Alt/Enter twice it seems to cure the problem but sometimes i get an error report and fsim shuts down.Have tried reinstalling drivers directx but did not workAmd xp 2100 ,1gig ddr,Xp pro Sp1,Ge4ti4600,40.72 whql i really dont want to reinstall fsimAny help would be welcomeThanks Keith

I have 4 joysticks installed on my machine, two MS game pad pros, one MS FF2 and a Thrust Master Ferrari FF wheel, all of which are USB connected. They all work fine however, I cannot get the TM wheel to be seen as the #1 device in XP. I have tried installing and uninstalling all of them in different orders and I am at my wits ends here. In windows 98 I could assign them myself but in XP it only allows you to set one of them as "preffered device" but this still does not work as seeing the wheel as #1. Any ideas on how to get my wheel as the controller #1? It's making using the pedals for a rudder hellish to say the least. Surely their must be a fix or a way around this?

Bonjour, This is the third time I experience the same problem with FS ATC : I fly an IFR flight ; everything is as usual until ATC asks me to start my descent. I descend as soon as possible, but FS doesn't seem to detect thai I'm descending : it asks me three times to accelerate my descent and eventually cancels my IFR flight plan ? Has any one an idea ?Maybe I have a clue : I'm flying now in the area of Greenland and Northeastern Canada (New Foundland) and the atmospheric pressure there is extremely low (984 mb) : could that be related ?Thanks for your answers Alain

Hello Gang!I am having a hughe problem with AFCAD and AFInstaller and I need any help I can get from the forum users. Here's my situation!!!Two days ago, I noticed that after installing a couple of AFCAD files, those airport that I installed were no longer available to be selected from the Airports menu in FS2002. For example, every time I typed "KDFW" as the identifier, the airport would be listed, but nothing was listed in the gates and runways section at the bottom to select the position of the aircraft, therefore, the airport could not be selected.Since I hold a full backup of FS2002 in a different drive, I tinkered with the backup copy of the AFDFILE folder and res…

First, I had a great flight on VATSIM last night thanks to the professional coverage of the Denver crew. I haven't used online ATC in a long time and was pleasantly surprised how easily it came back to me (I use a rather complicated setup with multiple computers, etc). Glad to see so many controllers use voice now. A few things that I thought might have evolved by now haven't seemed to, though, and I'll post them here in case someone knows of a solution.- The Roger Wilco automatic "switch" only seems to happen when you double-click on the ATC directory to change channels. I have made rudder pedals with a 100K pot. After researching this site and others, the advice is to wire the pot between pins 9 and 11 on the DB15 plug.On opening the plug, there was already a wire on pin 11 which I removed and, in turn connected the 100k pot.By doing this, the pedals worked ok but,disconnecting the existing wire from pin 11 caused the throttle axis on my Suncom/dual throttle combo to cease working?Before this, I was using one othe side of the split throttle for throttle and the other side as an alevator trim.I realize I can reassign the elevator axis to throttle but, is there any way i could wire the rudder to fifferent pins and leave the throttle/elevat…
