Hi All,I just built a new system and feel like I should be getting better performance. I have scoured the forums and tweeked all kinds of settings, but FS2002 still crawls and stutters. Even with AI completely off, sliders maxed, I can only get around 12-15 fps (and stutters) around major airports (not even KLAX or KSFO, but even KMCO). Its the stutters that are killing me. Also, terrain blurries aren't really a prob, except for buildings and airports, which shimmer and look bad. One other thing... whenever I start FS2002, the planes show up black untill I switch to the desktop and then back to FS2002, then they look fine.My Specs:Athlon XP2100+ (no o/c)MSI KT4 Ultra10…

Being a hard core simmer i want to step up from CH to either AETI or P. Flight Controls for a yoke but can't for the life of me fiqure out which one to get and it's big bucks with the Canadian exchange. Any one have any ideas?Does AETI come with a throttle control? it says it does but i never see it in the picture.With shipping and all i'm probably looking at 800 or so, so i better know what i'm doing. Another GFFX, PNY for $399 says expected ship date of February 5th! I know that the ATC feature of FS2002 is great, and I still wonder how we could fly in FS2000 without it.Nevertheless, it sometimes makes strange decisions that are very annoying. Last time, I was flying to Zurich, arriving southbound. There are a 16-34 runway, so the RWY 16 was the most direct. ATC directed me to make a kind of big U-turn because RWY 34 was in use. OK, I have no problem with this.On short final, I was asked to contact Zurich tower, which I did, and the tower asked me to enter the RWY 16 pattern !!! A question for the experts:Just installed a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP with an AMD 2400XP. Kept my Crucial 512MB PC2100 memory, GF3ti200 and 7200 40GB hardrive. Ran FS2K2 and it doesn't seem like anything changed, FPS kind of stayed the same. I'm running a network off this computer so I know that draws resources.Running Easytune to overclock it shows I'm running the FSB at 140mhz, and this gives me a software overclocking setup at 2100mhz. Anyone else running this program? What are your settings? Comparable specs? On the mobo, I've got the switches set at AUTO for the clock ratio and 133mhz for the CPU clock. At Meigs with ALL maxed out in display settings(even ground shadows, tri-filter, lights at 8... everything) I get between 10~12.5FPS at the 36 of Meigs, in 1600x1024x32 resolution... hello I'm using the Saitek X36 USB HOTAS my FS2002. I'm thinking it would be cool if I can use my throttle quadrant to control the reverser instead of hitting F2 everytime when landed, for example seting a position for idle and so you could pull the lever further down to reverse thrust. Can anyone show me how to do this?

Hi folks,name of download file: aitt0956setup.zipProgram is called AI Time Table for FS2002.It converts aircraft.txt and flightplans.txt from TTool and generate a nice AI timetable.But never been able to decode the whole flightplans.txt!!!The program slows down and stops definately only hundreds of plans before completion (i tried several times and it stops at a different point each time, so no error in flightplans.txt).Anyone???thanks in advance for helpingLuigi ;-)

I've just tried a flight (several times, actually) with the 727 from Mr. Trinkle(it came with panels also) (LP727v20.zip). Now, I realize, that I've been spoiled by those aircraft included in MSFS 2002 Pro, they made it easy for us idiots. FS2K2 seems to be addicted to GPS. I've created and exported a flight plan from FSnav, Denver (DIA) to Chicago (O'hare),with the 727, and attempted to fly it. I stuck with "navaid-to-navaid" as the aircraft and panel don't do GPS, which is as it should be. ATC seems to think I should be following a GPS course (I guess) because it is always asking me to turn or alter altitude...when I'm straight and level, and on "the line" to the VOR. …

However I guess, I pressed some key accidently and that disappeared. Evening chumsI've been thinking about this lately, and decided to ask what may be an impossible question to answer.I was wondering if there's anyway to get FSNav to show AI traffic on its TCAS setting?It'd be nice to know that my approach isn't going to be messed up by some AI jockey running up the rear, or knowing if an a/c is on short finals?Just a thought.Rob

I must be dense. I for the life of me can not get this working.OK, here is what I've done; :-grr- Used GA MAKER to build the plans. It told me I had to add a list of airports that were not usable. I did that.- I added the airports both manually and also used the CollectAirports.exe in TTools.- I used AFCAD to make sure all the airports had towers and also made sure they had tower freqs.- I used AITM to check using the analize feature to see if I was missing anything. Airports came up clear, aircraft came up clear. I check the plans for my airport and it shows them there.OK what the heck am I missing? I went to KLAX and set ATC to 100% traffic and got about 35 a/c displayed in 3 or 4 minutes according to Pete Dowson's Traffic.exe module. I then went to Narita and Haneda (Japan) and got 1 a/c in each airport at the same ATC setting. Why is this?This week I installed add-on airports for Narita and Kansai and saw no AI at all in the air. I did have AI on the groun taxiing around but nothing ever took off. I waited and waited to see some AI in the air but nada, zero, zip...and I thought mebbe it all got deleted with the add-on installation. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the text that is displayed at the top of the screen in FS? It is the one with a green band and red writting on it. It lets you know when the doors are opening etc. The problem is that it comes up with Radar Contact and it is very anoying!Thanks

First rumours said that it will be released (mass production) in 3rd week of January, and now they are saying that it will be in April, the first proper commercial release. I am a very big fan of FS 2002 and I intend to upgrade for better proformance. I want to spend less than $460.00 for a motherboard & processor combo. Pricewatch.com has many motherboard options. Which motherboard is a good pick with an XP 2700 processor? I dont really care about the onboard video or sound options. Thanks in advance.

I just recived it yesterday and its beautiful.....i purchased the new Radeon 9700 Pro and i men i get 40 fps when im looking directly at Las Vegas....Chicago NY LA all get about 30.......but i am havin one little problem.....anialliasing has gotten mmmm a little bit better but i really would like to knwo how to improve it more as becasue i saw a post on here a while ago and i search for 30 minsutes wiht no luck...so plz help me.
