I'll qualify this post by saying my wife hasn't seen this month's CC bill. If I suddenly disappear from this forum...uh...you'll know why. I am enjoying this aircraft more than any since Flight1's 421 release. I am wondering how others have liked it--there was a lot of initial talk, but much of it has quieted down since the Beechjet's release.I am curious if anyone has heard rumor of similar projects on the horizon, freeware or payware....? .. that all aircraft are so sensitive to control inputs? I have over 500 logged hours with an instrument rating, and I can NEVER seem to land aircraft properly without them see-sawing all over the final approach path with too sensitive a response to my joystick. I have calibrated the joystick with no help. The changes that several people have suggested in the [flight tuning] section of the aircraft.cfg have helped, but it seems too much to have to do that with all my aircraft (I am an aircraft junkie!!). On the assumption that we download Real Weather can we experience flight in the Jet Stream with FS2002?If that is indeed possible can anybody tell me where and what height should be used to fly in the Jet Stream?Cliff

Keith Giveans uploaded the louisiana_wetlands_part2.zip file here on 20 March. There is no AFD bgl file included to add the airport name to FS2002. There is another file (laswamp2.zip) at Flightsim.com with the same problem. Does anyone have the AFD bgl file or know how to contact Keith Giveans? The Part 1 and Part 3 are all OK. I am experiencing some recent strange behavior of FSMETEO. I tried to download current weather today twice and the program hung each time about half way through the download. When I get the download to work online, I have these strange frame reductions about every 10-15 seconds. I will cruising along around 20-25 fps and then, wham, it drops to 4-5 fps for a few seconds. When I don't use FSMETEO everything is fine! I am using XP with no SP1, GeForce3 card, 1.8 CPU. Any thoughts on what might be going on?Thanks!Airbus

I haven't been able to download weather from FSmeteo servers one or two for almost two weeks now. Anyone else having any problems? I am wondering if it is just me. I haven't seen any mention of problems in the forum here. Thanks,Scott

For the longest time, I have not been able to download off of the FSMETEO weather server with my version 5.0I get two or three blue bars and then the program (server?) hangs.I had this for the longest time.I have resorted to using the FS2002 'in house' weather download that zips across the download-update bar like greased lighting.So what gives with FSMETEO? Does the server only respond to the latest version (it locks you out with 5.0 or below?!?!?) or what?If this is a way to 'hint' that you should lay out more coin to upgrade...then that sucks..... I lost my hard drive and reinstalled FS2002. I installed a couple of addon sceneries and now get an error in Area 121 of the scenery.cfg. It says invalid remote service in Area 121. This isn't a "this doesnt work" or "I need help" post, just asimple "Wow, that's too cool" kinda post.I sat down tonight with John Cillis' "Landclass Assistant" (not thatone where you need Excel tomake it work), and I must say thisis way too cool.Very easy and very quickly I was able to change the landclassa roundmy home airport (KEVV) to reflect more accurately the landscape around the airport.If you fly over a particularly sparse space near your airport,give this little program/procedure a try.It's way too cool.My hats off the Mr. Cillis.Have a nice Memorial Day everyone!!!John Whitenewburgh, IN

hi,The other day I remember Johnci posted something about making only the captains gauges active on the panel. Can you please tell me how to do that John? The aircraft is wonderful and the framerates are good when in the outside view looking at the external model (in the 20s) but when I go into the cockpit view oh boy! My frame rates go down to china town (5-10) ;-) :-( . Not very flyable. I'm hoping disabling the Fo's gauges will improve fps some. Thanks,AndrewPS. Hey y'all! I've had this problem before, but never got a response (not even an "I don't know"). I'll take off from one of the NZ airports (once from Christchurch, going to Santiago; the second going from Auckland to Rarotonga) and head east. About 10-15 minutes into the flight, all ATC disappears. By that I mean, the window just flashes out of existence, and no amount of hitting ~ will bring it back. On my Santiago trip, the window came back after 12 hours of flying (about 100 nmfrom the destination airport). On the Rarotonga trip, it never came back (but the flight was only 4 hours long). Hello all!Just got a new 'puter with XP installed. I have already gotten DX9 installed. Any idea why none of my "Chrome" aircraft textures dont show up as "Chrome". Is as if there is no Alpha Channel, but the textures I checked do have the Alphas! Card is integrated GF4 MX (For now, until i get the GF3 ti200 out of the old machine!)Thanks!!Scott:-zhelp

This is not to beta testers, but a general question for anyone who has upgraded to DX 9.x.... Aside from FS, has anyone seen any issues with other third party apps, whether they be CAD, other sims, graphics programs, games? Anything you couldn't run?I am just curious what those who've taken the plunge to DX-9 have seen. I haven't upgraded, simply because the dial-up download time is a bit too steep.... So I'm waiting for it to appear on the COF CD....-John

hi i have a two problems with the ffx 737-800 .First is that the speed for the 737-800 is very high like at 40,000ft i fly around 550mph .And second when i am flying at 40,000ft the nose of the plane is not leval with the horizon line it is tilted up ward like this but not that steep.So can any body help me with the problemsthanks bkircher

Just wondering if there is a way I can get a numeric indication of my trim setting. I think I saw a jet panel which had this on a little MFD - can't remember where. Maybe the A320 that was yanked.Also, is there a way to replace gauges with numeric values? E.g. rather than an altimeter, I have a altitude readout.Alternatively, is there a gauge / hack I can easily add to an existing panel?Thanks,Andrew

Hi there, Over the last week or so, I started to develop a strange problem with the graphics of the sim. I would be flying for about half an hour or so, and all of a sudden, I would notice a lot of overlaying scenery textures. I tried all sorts of remedies ( updating with the latest drivers, changing settings, etc) but nothing seemed to work. As a last resort, I re-installed FS2002, but the problem persisted. The problem only goes away when I fly without real world weather ( the default one ). There is nothing else running in the background, and nothing was recently installed.Can someone assist me in solving this dilemna, because it's quite boring without the real weathe…

I would like to suggest that some experienced simmer creates basic quidelines of what free add ons for fs should be installed in order to improve the sim, fs clouds and other textures etc. Settings within fs and so on. There is a lot for a beginner to go throug and this would make a start for a new simmer very much easier. Thank you.Regard

Technically, this is a software question that is related to MSFS, so I hope this is the right forum. If not please tell me so I know where my message goes to if you move it.I want to install MSFS on my new computer, but the Number 3 CD I have is badly worn and it won't install past the NewYork.cab file or whatever. I've searched the microsoft wbsite for hours looking for one single lousy e-mail address to inquire about repalcing it, but I can't find it. Is there a preferred or "most unsually used" departure and arrival runway at KLGA? I see they have intersecting runways so I assume they "shoot the gap" and deploy departing traffic on the intersecting runway to the arrivals. A predominant wind or a preferred runway at KJFK or KEWR might dictate which runways are most commonly used.Thanks,Bruce.
