I don't understand this: I have made a picture-perfect approach just like I have done zillions before, no wind, touched down just at the perfect spot on the runway - and then this bird simply "sinks" in the ground, i.e. the rear wheels "eat" themselves into the concrete, making plenty of noise and firy and flashy flames (and thus the plane unsteerable)... why?? I have tried it with several of the POSKY 744Fs (Cargolux, Air France), at several airports, always the same problem.Anyone can help? Is the plane badly loaded, i.e. too much weight on the centre of the plane? If yes, can I influence this? Other reasons?

...orld.I thought I just had to download and it would auto install.I try to unzip it and I get a file read error. This is the second time I've downloaded clouds from FSW and had this problem. So, 38MB and 2+ hours later and I'm no farther ahead.Anyone have any ideas as to how I can get this working? *:-* I have the sinking feeling I've got yet another corrupted download.:-violin Thanks, Adam

FYI.It's well described, however, I was taught that the inbound leg in a crosswind should have the Wind Correction Factor * 3 of the outbound leg, not *2 as he says. This makes sense as you don't apply correction in the turns, so you have to compensate for 3 legs over the one leg... clear as mud eh :) http://www.pilotlist.org/zahar/howto.htmRichard

Hi all,Today, I loaded the FSMETEO weather files two times (27th May at 1900 and 2000 GMT). Each time, the most recent METAR messages were of May 24th, 1600 GMT. Does anybody know what's going on on the FSMETEO server ? Is it down for maintenance or what ?ThanksAlain

When I'm in front of a 2D panel and I press the left, right, up and down views keys the views switch to the desired position right away like a slide show. However, when I'm in fron of a virtual cokpit, the same keys smoothly pan my point-of-view left, righ, up and down very smoothly as if I was actually moving my head around.I was wondering if there is a way to obtain the same effect but without having the virtual cokpit visible in front of me. In other words it would be great if one could gently pan in all directions an not having the view obstructed by the virtual panel at all. Does anybody know if there is a way to achieve this? Thanks.Gianluca

Does anyone know if FS2004 will have better multiplayer. It would be nice to actually be able to see parts on other aircraft moving (default aircraft that is) and fix the other problems associated with MP (a lot of them!). Also, it would be nice to be able to jump into another aircraft with someone (with permission of course) and watch them fly. Or even take the controls (Again with their permission). You could even go as far as being able to actually walk around the airplane and/or give a preflight walk around before jumping in. I feel that this part of MSFS has a lot that can be fixed and updated. With todays boom of High Speed Internet, etc, this section of the S…

It is a sad day indeed...Both British Airways & Air France have made the joint decision to retire the entire Concorde fleet by October this year. The reasons are aparrently due to falling numbers of passengers since the Concorde crash, & numerious less serious faults with the rudder, engines & other systems. Despite the modernisation that has been done recently that would have seen Concorde fly until 2010-or so, It seems she simply isn't cost effective any more.Lets hope that NONE of them get scrapped, but are ALL offered to private collectors & air museums, & as many as possible are kept air worthy for displays. What a gal! She'll be missed.Alistair 'La…

James Eden has created a wonderful website for Debonair Drivers. On this site is information like the original manual, important pages from the real Deb manual, a faq, files to download, and even the first of an installment of some real flights and pictures with anecdotal information I have taken in the plane.Have a look and enjoy-James has done an outstanding job and it will continue to be added to and updated.http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/edenw/http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg

Question to the moderators...Why did the you delete my post about new FS2004 screenshots over at a different flight sim site?It was cowardly to just delete it without even an explanation. Please explain why you did it.Matthew.

Could you please report if Micro$oft finally got it 'as real as it gets' with runway lights that could switch on during day time in low visibility ...? (And I'm not talking about 200m vis and then runway lights as with FS2002)Believe me, I have about 2000 hours as PIC with real aircraft and most of the times around cities you have approach lights on because of the smog, and even more so when it rains during the day, you could even with three clicks on the Tx switch runway lights on at an unmanned airfield. Why can't MSFS get that together - surely after FS95 we've asked for it and was really disappointed when FS98 came out without the function. Various post and e-mail went…

Hi,I have a load of FS2002 scenery add-ons on the hard drive with the main scenery and when you add a new one there is an option to "cache the scenery" or "use it direct". Before I start testing things, anybody know whether there is a frame rate advantage to cache it or use it direct ??ThanksDegsy

FS2002 is still very good to me so I have a few thingsthat would have to work in FS2004 to make the jump.In no particular order :1. FSGenesis Mesh2. DF Archer3. DF C1774. Simflyers - All th North American airports they have done.5. GoFlight hardware.6. Custom Traffic.bgl made with TToolsIf I can get the above to run on FS2002 then I would make the jump.Might be able to give up the DF planes, but anything else would really hurt.Think the above list will work - and what is your list?-MRC
