Thought I would share this with others who may have had a problem with this gauge crashing FS2002.I had been spending some time trying to get the Mobile Control Tower to work and it kept crashing the Sim with a send/don't send message that referred to this gauge. After some thought it occurred to me that it may have the same effect on the simulator as the Real CRT gauges have and after experimenting I find it does. You need to start FS2002 off with a 'plane not using the gauge in cockpit view. Then just change the aircraft for the Mobile Tower and everything is hunky dory.Hopefully this will help someone.Bill

Hey, does anybody know what planes do the NBA teams use to travel. I am sure they don't use regular lines (or do they?), but their own planes or charters. These final nights I've been flying after the games from the city the play to the city they belong using real weather to know how they did in their flight, but I am not sure what plane to use. I am using medium jets such as the Fokker 100, the A-320 or the 737.ThanksLeo

Hi all,I recall seeing a post(s) sometime back regarding the altering of either FSUIPC or the cfg file to render a more subtle "breaking through" of the cloud layer, rather than flying right from blue sky to soup to VFR. Coming up with search keywords has left me sorting through only the first 1,034 post that the forum could bring up. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.Rick

jerrycwo4Yesterday I installed the UPDATE version, 1.7 to FS2002. Afterwards my computer FROZE up 4 times straight in a row right after I gave the ATC a request to taxi to the active. I used my GO-BACK program to "go back to" the last version, 1.15 and everything worked OK then. Has anyone else had a problem with the 1.7 version?jerry

I was wondering, can anyone tell me which sound file(s) in the FFX/SGA sound package I should place 3 zeros in front of to 'hush' the wind effects outside? I know that's usually the procedure to make a particular sound seem quiet or non-existent, and I love the sound package in general; just not so much the loud wind. If anyone can help my I'd be very grateful (as would my ears! lol)George

I seem to recall a Beech Starship project for FS2002 a while back, and then it got delayed indefinately due to one thing or another, but that was like a year ago now. Any news on this project or anyone else doing the the Starship?(and yes, I do have Abacus Corporate Pilot)

So far, I am unable to find the correct combination to get the VOR frequencies to update automatically. In reading the posts on this forum, I find instructions to partially answer my problem, but not completely. I see nothing that addresses VOR waypoints downstream of the first in a flight plan. Also, my results relative to VOR2 are contrary to Tom's reply to somebody else's post. My understanding from another reply is that imported plans will not work. I get the same results whether imported, fresh, or a saved plan from either. For example, in making the following plan from scratch (Not imported from FS2002 or elsewhere) I get the indicated results: Origin: KATLDestinati…

I just installed the Alaska terrain mesh pack from here in the library, and I'm having a few issues with the way the scenery is rendering itself. When I had installed this last year, I was not getting the half clear/half blurry effect I am getting in these two shots. What might I have set wrong, or 'too much' in my configurations? All help is greatly appreciated!(i.e. - in picture #2, you can see the mountains in the left side of my main view are in crisp detail, while the ridge on the right is blurry.)Scott

Hi, I realize I have a low end systemCeleron 500256 ram16 meg TNT2 NividiaThe board I have Celeron 500 is the limit. So is ram.I am pretty broke - and was wondering would a sound card help out vs. on board sound? Would that free the processor up some? Or would it be negligable? Also, I have no AGP port. Would I see 'tremendous improvement' with a 32 meg TNT2 card? Thanks - getting a new computer is outa the question for the forseeable. Also - just to ask, I came from FS98 and 2002 is a big improvement. With my machine, would I enjoy 2000 alot more? It has mesh terrain too.I open for comments!-TB

Don't get me wrong here, but why is Microsoft spending so much time on all these old aircraft and the history of flight? As a avid flight simmer, I fly all the time using FS2002 and would like to thank Microsoft for their outstanding FS2002 product. I fly IFR about 90% of the time and practice IFR approaches with FS2002, but can't help wonder how you (the avid Flight Simmer) really feels about the next version of flight simulator?Myself, yes I'll buy FS2004 as soon as it's out, but not for all these old aircraft that Microsoft is promoting...... I'm looking forward to the new ATC options/functions, and all the other functions/options that FS2002 didn't offer...My questi…

May be the Directx version that is in FS2002?So the question is: what hardware and software (Windows) should I have in order to avoid this problem and make FS02 work well? I have Windows 98Pentium 3128mb RAMMany thanks for your help.

This is certainly not to knock the buffs of the genre - -but-Where were you? According to the "other" (long) series of posts discussing the pros and cons of the age of the newly included aircraft, lots of folks can't wait for, at least, the DC-3.However, I'm compelled to wonder, then, with what me might see as a latent but large community of fans of vintage aircraft, why we haven't seen our library fill up with this type of craft.Certainly it's not for lack of talented designers and modelers. Certainly it's not for lack of information and drawings and historical performance figures. What then?I am pleased with what seem like significant upgrades to the flight environment -…

I have never been too excited about the FS2002 VCs. The ones for the default Cessnas are the only ones that look much good to me - and you can't do much with them except look at them. So, I am more than a litle surprised that there seems to be no excitement about this new concept of "clickable" VCs. It seems to me that this is a real advance for the Sim and will be one of the things that will stop the sale of payware for a while (as they , at this stage , do not have this feature)and I dare say will be difficult to update.Barry
