Hi, Anybody know of a web-site where I could find information on the DC9: performance, systems, etc? I found one by a RW DC9 captain (Stellan Hilmerby), but it does not cover systems, just performance. I bought Iron Nuckles from Fligth One, but its documentation is very poor. They have some support forums with usefull information, but they have nothing on the plane itself, not even the plane's empty weight. Any help would be appreciated,regards,Max

HiI have enjoyed reading and using ideas in the forum so thought I would put my problem out there to see if I could find some help.I have a dell dimensions 8100 w/windows xp, using a logitech wignman extreme digital joystick and flight sim 2002 professional addition.My problem is the elevator motion, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, if I dont check it right away (before I back up from the gate) I start my take off and roll down the runway but can not take off. That does not make a good pilot happy. Everything else works fine I can steer and all the buttons work. If I close the program and restart the computer it will usually work fine, its just a pain however.An…

A couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone else was experiencing difficulties accessing the PTSIM website, apparently no-one was except me, I tried all offered suggestions but with no success. I have managed to gain some sort of access following a link from the Hanger21 website but I can only download text, pics and link buttons etc will not display. I have tried to email PTSIM via [email protected] and [email protected] but all are returned as undeliverable due to 'website problems'. Can anyone please offer any explanation and solution to my apparently unique problem as I would dearly love to buy their new Madeira scenery. The problem obviously lies somewhere in my Internet Op…

Anyone know where I can find old Air Canada AI flight plans with the schedule from the 1980's?

I've saved a default scenario whereby the engines, switches, and other items are turned OFF. Upon starting MSFS and entering the sim, in any aircraft (default, PSS Airbus/DHC8, DF737, 767PIC), the engines begin to spool up automatically, almost as if CTRL-E was pressed.WIth my addon airplanes, I have configured them in their respective load edit and config screens to load up cold and dark. But it appears MSFS has other things in mind. Specific example - with the PSS Airbus - Upon loading the scenario, the craft loads in shut down - then I hear the spooling and see the engines coming to life on the MFD's... Quickly I bring up the pedistal view, and see that the fuel cutoff…

I have a little problem. My MSFS crashed the other day and a uninstall/reinstall was only option to fix. Here is my problem.I had FSSE installed and it worked great. After the crash, had a couple of other problems with computer. So I decided to clean things up a bit. I reformatted the harddrive which MSFS is on.(it is it own hardrive, not a partioned one). I also changed the name of the HDD it was G; and I changed it to E:. After reinstalling MSFS and all working as advertised agian. I have this problem with FSSE.For some reason when I insert the CD/ROM and auto-run starts up it comes up with the window asking to repair, update, remove FSSE. No option to install. …

I'm getting a bit bored with airliners at the moment (at least until the SSW A310 and PMDG 737NG arrive) and I'm looking for some good round robins to fly in smaller aircraft. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?In particular I'd like to do one around British Columbia and another in the Alps, and perhaps another around Scandinavia, and another around South America (the Andes in particular).....I'll stop there before the list gets too long :)Cheers.

hi all, this may be a silly thing to ask, when the new 2004 arrives can i install it along side 2002, i have added a lot of stuff to 2002 so i will carry on with it, but the thing ,to me,that looks good is the improvement with the weather, so over time i can add all my extras , while here i should like to say what a great site avsim is, i check it out every nite and allways find it interesting and the people on here most helpful thanks, regards.

Q1 I would like to change the "start-up"sound of a Merlin engine,by substituting a WAV file taken from another sound folder.Do I have to edit the Sound c.f.g. file or can I make a substitution?Q2 The default sound file has 4 WAV which I assume are used at the "start":1 stangstart2 stang1cst3 xstang1cst4 xstangstartThe #3 file(which I think has the best start-up sound) is never used.Is it possible to edit the c.f.g file to play this sound.Rodger.

HY I woould like to know if there is anyway to get rid of the blue frame the surrounds my gauges ,gps etc when I bring it up in the Virtual COkpit view, and is also seems like it put a pretty big on frame rates on my system , in the 2-d panel when i bring something no blue frame and no hit on performance, is there a way to do this in VC mode too , THANKS FOR VIEWING

Hi - I have some questions, which maybe somebody out there has an answer, possibially maybe even an Inside contact:1) When FS 2004 is released what will happen to the SIMFLYERS SCENERY I downloaded (and payed for). I must have invested close to $100 in their scenery and I would not be very happy if that scenery won't work in FS2004: ACOF, unless if the default scenery for IAD, DFW, EWR, MCO, LAX, PHL, LAS and (the to be released) JFK. Im wondering if I have any hope of running the new version on my machine with reasonable performance(20fps)without turning all of the settings to nill. I do very well with 2002 and nice FSD International aircraft and 75% on the sliders. Anyone have thoughts on what I can expect? I bought an MS Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick to use with FS2002. It seems to work okay except in Virtual Cockpit mode. In VC mode, if I pan the view using the hat switch, the sound cuts in and out as I pan. Depending on where I stop the pan, the sound may go out completely until I move the viewing angle slightly. This does not happen in the normal cockpit mode and did not happen with my old CH yoke.Anyone have any ideas on this one?Thanks,Joe

Whenever I go into SLEW mode in FS2002 after having opened an airport in AFCAD, my aircraft (can be anything) just flies off the screen (& the AFCAD map) uncontrollably. It usually happens after I hit Y on the keyboard but sometimes after CTRL+S.This has only happened recently - I've tried everything from a joystick driver reinstall, removing/reinstalling FSUIPC and & tonight even a complete FS2002 reinstall, but still no luck!Any help/suggestions would be great.Cheers! :)Josh

Hi, in the real ArcherII can the colour of panel light be changable? Or is it always redish like what is modeled in the Dreamfleet Archer II panel. But IMO it might be always redish for pilot to maintain night vision, so I'll just leave it like that in Confic O metic. I won't bother to change it then.Great product, I really enjoy it.Vatin

After ignoring Force Feedback technology for years, I find myself wondering what it might do for me. That is, what effects are modeled? I understand there's a bump at touchdown, but what about stick forces in the air. Are they progressive, depending upon speed,bank angle etc? How about turbulence? Just how worthwhile are they for a vfr, low and slow flyer like myself? Finally, do most add on aircraft also model the effects? I didn't see these specific questions in a search. Thanks for your help.

Just a question I've been wondering that no one has thought of yet. How many people who are having framerate problems have Active Camera installed??? Since this is an issue that only affects certain users, I 'm wondering are the users affected using Active Camera with this Beechjet. If you are using Active Camera, turn it off and see if your framerates increase. This is by no means a solution but rather a test since I can't think of anything else that some users would have installed and some not that directly affects the VC.
