Some of my inland lakes (not the great Lakes) show up green and look almost like dry lake beds rather than blue water lakes. the color is kind of tannish green, or maybe greenish tan. It has shown up in areas as widely separated as British Columbia and The Middle East...I suspect I am missing a water texture color. BTW, I am using add on ocean textures...thanks for any help.Sherm

Has anyone else tried downloading the higher definition file clouds_highband.wmv from the MS FS2004 site. It features a 5 minute lecture on the new techniques used to make the clouds in FS2004. Unfortunately, after a 35MB 2 hour download (no ADSL here), I find it only plays as sound, so I can't see the wonderful video effects being described by the speaker. I have tried on Win98 and WinXP machines. Anyone else had any success, or any thoughts on what might be going wrong?

I've tried searching the forums for the answer but I can't find one. Whenever in spot view the camera rolls past the plane and I would like to know how to have the camera stay in a fixed position and not move at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I've always wondered; How come I've NEVER seen a Reno air racer made for FS2002? I know they have the wonderful P-51, but Im talking about an actual modified mustang like Strega, or Dago Red, heck even Rare Bear (my fav) Is there a law against it? I just think it would be soooo cool to fly around in a Unlimited racer with a virtual cockpit. Just curious if anyone knows of somewhere to find one, or knows a reason why know one has ever made one. Any input would be great, because I've wondered why for a long time. Thanks all. Ty89m

I was able to get the flights to both airports and the times are correct. I noticed all of my traffic, is on the KSFO half of San Francisco. Gates A-D are only being used. The other lot of gates they have(E-G) are left untouched. How do I fix that? Also, there are not a lot of visable planes at the airports. To populate the airports with more planes, do I just select the aircraft, make a flight plan using AITM, and more traffic will appear? Also, how do I add aircraft to the aircraft.txt folder so I can use more than just the default planes for flight routes? In case everyone doesn't know, this is using the AITM freeware!

Well! What a Erickson! Brilliant Helicopter. Just d/l it from http://www.hovercontrol.com/Superb.This allows me to 'dig up gardens' with great effectiveness while attempting to land the Helicopter which is to me an outdated concept anyway! Landing that is!Go on fight fires. Yep, collect water and then dump it!Well done indeed!rmceScotland

OK, so everyone else already knows this. But just in case... did you know it is possible to resize the green scrolling text bar along the top of the FS2002 screen? This is the one where text from lessons, adventures, ATIS reports and weather programs scroll by. If you hit P for pause, you can then grab it and resize it and move it. Did this by accident yesterday and was surprised it was possible.Cheers,Peter

The other day in the screen shot forum I saw a pic in which the pilot had used SHIFT+Z to show his LAT/LONG, Altitude,Airspeed, etc. I also noticed he had the PA reading displayed showing 29.92. Is there a way to add that to FS2002 in the CFG file. That would be nice info to have when I'm flying.ThanksDan

I just watched the video on the making of clouds in FS2004 and from what I understand clouds are still flat right?I mean they showed the artists placing flat images of 'sprites' which always point towards the camera. That is a 2D cloud then right?Anyway..FS2004 has not sold me yet based on what I see but I'm sure the 3rd party developers are gonna make it 1000% better like they did with FS2002.Take careMike

Hi All,I just got back from Dayton Hamvention and in the process of touring the various booths came across 'Zonica Entertainment (Cybertronics)'who were showing Infra Red (wireless) 3D glasses. Now, I have purchased similar product in the past, in my quest for 3D depth for helicopter-simming, only to be disappointed by either flickering screens or inadequate refresh rates with my hardware and the glasses interface - the result being less than satisfactory! :(I watched the demo, tried the glasses and asked how the product worked compared to others. The guy actually explained that there are no specific game drivers and that all that is required is that the latest drivers for…

Guys,I hate to make such a request but I wasn't fortunate enough to get her when she was out and now all I can find is the base pack, effects and sound. If just one of you has the Virgin textures and could email them to me, it's be amazingly appriciated. If possible, post a reply here when you send. I only need one set (I'm on 56k dial up and downloading one set will take long enough).Email address is [email protected],Adam Nardone

I recently upgraded from Win98SE to Windows XP. FS2002 and all associated applications (FSMeteo, FSGarmin, ProFlight, etc.) are running fine, except that CTRL-SHFT commands are not being recognized. The only response I am getting now from most of those commands is a beep emanating from the PC speaker (not through the SoundBlaster like all other sounds). Can anybody help me solve this problem? Thanks,Rob P.

Howdy EveryoneI have been having trouble with setting turbulance in the Advanced Weather settings. To set turbulance I go to the Wind section and choose if I want occasional,light,moderate...The trouble comes when I set a second or third layer.I select what settings I want in the second or third layer as usual but when I get to the actual flying, only the first layers settings are applied and the others are not.I therefore am limited to only one layer at a time. :-bang Has anybody had the same problem?Any solutions or suggestions?Thanx! :-wavetheo,South Africa

I went for a joyflight in a 1964 Beechcraft D18 Model H today - the only one in Australia and I couldn't miss the opportunity. I sat behind the young pilot and watched him. For a start, he was obviously enjoying what he was doing - and he was doing what he was doing VERY competently. His hand movements and eye movements reminded me of how I drive a car after all these years -- almost automatically and with confidence. Now it seemed to me that this A/C is probably just about all he flies every day -- he gets lots of practice on it and is not worrying about how to fly a B707 , but just this one a/c that he is responsible for.As for me with the Sim, I am a jack of all trades …
