I've searched the forums, but can't find a post on this. And I'm pretty sure it must have been discussed... surely....Well here goes. If FS2004 is only going to have a/c with clickable VCs and do away with 2D cockpits, then, how are we going to use the planes from our current stables with it?Or are they saying that while the FS2004 stock planes will only have clickable VCs, we can still use our current ones in their current formats?I do hope it's the latter....:-hmmm

Here is a little test I ran on my machine because I was having serious frame rate issues. This may or may not work for you if, but it might be worth a shot if you are interested in picking up some performance without loosing a lot of detail.Under the panel.cfg open it up, and go down to the VC area.I edited the numbers of the pixel size. I cut these numbers in half. For example:[Vcockpit01]file=vc_left.bmp Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1024,1024visible=0render_3d_window=1pixel_size=512,512 <------ This number was 1024,1024texture=$vc_leftI did the same for the rest of the [Vcockpit02,03,etc].By cutting all the pixel_size numbers in half, I was able to increase my f…

Hi All,Just loaded the new Cat. 3.4's and had no studders and fantastic frame rates with my 9800 until I loaded my favorite plane the DF-737. When entering the FMC the frame will lock-up and crash to the desk-top with the error being ati2dvag.dll has failed. What a shame being that these new drivers looked much better than the 3.2's. I had to revert back to the old so I can still use the 737. I tried the omega's also but with the same result. I posted this in the DF forum with one response saying roll back to the 3.2's. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem? Running Win.xp

Is it possible to program destinations into the default gps by entering lat/lon coordinates? All I see is airports navaids and intersections. I ask this because next door is DNR and I've been talking to the chopper pilots and they have been giving me coordinates for the fires they are fighting. It takes quite a while to get there without being able to just program in the coordinates.Any ideas? Thanks, Adam

Specifically to you press people (since the beta people can't/won't talk).Does anyone know whether they have changed the limit of players you can have at one time? It has become very annoying to fly online for the last year and half because of this limit. Also a little screenshot of the AI using multiple runways and maybe an ATC window or two would also be nice. Thanks.

Hi!My name is Doug Radcliffe and I am co-authoring the official Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight strategy guide. One of our goals for the guide was to get the "gamer's voice" involved with a large community section as well as polling savvy players about some anecdotes or interesting tips they might have and want to personalize and share.First off, you're given full credit for any tip submitted. Your name (or whatever name you wish) will appear inside the tip box with your tip. Your name will also appear in the acknowledgements section of the book. The FS 2004 testers also submitted some for the guide.Right now we're concentrating on aircraft tips, such as the …

I know this would be better suited in the PAI forum but I can't register there for some reason.Does anyone know which of the PAI packages also include the real world flight plans from mostrealisticai as opposed to fictional ones, or a way of identifying them? Thanks in advance for any help.

Greetings everybody,I've been reading all those posts during the last weeks/months regarding the upcoming FS9/Century Of Flight with great interest. However, I am noticing that most of the questions are about AI Traffic, build in ATC, Scenery etc.I may be thinking different but that's not what I'm looking for in FS9.What I want is better simulated experience and in order to achieve that I give more points to the following areas:1. Aircraft systems simulated. Any change on these? Are hydralics, pneymatics and electrics PROPERLY simulated?2. Are the flight models any better?3. Weather. I am happy to read that the weather has indeed been improved.4. Proper ground handling s…

Hi!I have a M$ Force Feedback 2 joystick and it's fantastic! - except when some of the aircraft I download have a reverse aileron-force effect. Instead of the joystick tending towards center when I initiate a roll, the joystick does the reverse, it pushes even harder towards the roll! This only happens in some aircraft.Does anybody know of a fix to this wierd problem. Any help would be much appreciated!James

Have about 3 hours on FS 2004 now, and have some observations for you. My system; AMD 1.333, GF2 Ultra 64 Meg, 512 Meg Ram...[ul][li] VFR to IFR transition: sim now allows you to elect to go to IFR in flight. Selecting IFR transition in ATC window brings up flight planner. Haven't tried it yet, but assume that ATC will pick you up at your current position and respond as normal IFR flight from that point forward.[li] ATC provides step climb instructions: now ATC in an IFR flight will give you step instructions for climb instead of going directly to your planned cruise altitude. Example, KIAD to KATL at FL250: first assignment = 14,000. Second = FL220, and third was FL250.[…

HiIf you like Russian aircraft, go to www.avsim.ru and download this panel. It includes a co-pilots voice that tells you when your gear is sucessfully retracted/lowered, flaps too, altitude countdown on approach. Yes it's in Russian, but I like that. You'll need a little knowledge of Russian, but if you're a experienced downloader/installer, it'll not cause you any problem. It's free!!!Gavin

hi Do you think FS2004 aircraft gauges will be anti-aliased, since I'm planing to buy the Reality-XP Jetline2 when it is released. From what I can see in FS2004 Learjet video, the gauge (ADI) seems to have some jitters, so I guess it's not anti-aliased. I may have to get the Reality-XP Jetline2 anyway, so I could enjoy smooth movement gauges with all aircrafts.Vatin

I accidently deleted my Fs2002.cgf file. I know it will re-create one but now FS is not reading any of the scenery files. I get a scenery.cfg error when I start the sim. It says local scenery area (scenedb/world/Scenery in area.001 not found. It goes through every area and says not found. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Mike

Well, I finally took the plunge and downloaded the installer from PAI. I've not run the program yet, because in the.doc file, as it takes you through the different setup windows, it states in one area that all the custom aircraft.cfg settings will be lost- exactly what does this mean? will I have to re-do all the radio sections of the file so that the comm and nav radios work(some 3rd party aircraft require this)Also what about more substantial planes like Fanda's dash-8 and RFP's 747-200- ?Is there a more detailed tutorial for the computer timid? Thanks!

After 5 months of class, hours of studying, clinicals in ERs and abmulances, I finally have time to get a flight in fs2002. I havent downloaded a single new plane or scenery since last December, there is so much, what does one recommend. I am a twin screw fan, the flame throwers are too boring, and the wife has put the kabosh to me buying any more "toys" as she puts it, so I have to stick with freeware. :)Dave w.

Just read that Bear liked the newest Convair propliner and installed and then realized it had no panel, gauges , or sounds. Do you have to download an earlier convair or are these available separately? Description says its a complete package. Anyone know?

Can someone chime in on this cause maybe I am mis-understanding.Weather Updates every 15 minutes is what they state. If you are flying 420 kts you essentially could cover over 100 miles. So does this mean within those 100 miles you have travelled that the weather has not been updated or does the weather engine cover a specific radius. I must be missing a piece of this.Bob G
