I have asked this question before - but during the time when the BETA testers were still covered by the NDA. Hope I will get some input this time! :(AS a non realtime flyer, I think what I like most about Flight Simming is that it gives me some experience of what it is to fly in real life. Everybody talks about "realism" -- but of course , I do not and would not know what realism feels like when it comes to flying - as I am a non flyer!! :) So I need to experience it through lessons and adventures.I always thought that these were pathetic in FS2002 -- the audio was almost impossible to hear/understand ( maybe this was some attempt at "realism"?) and while the Private Pilo…

If it weren't for Avsim's being on top of things, I would have forgotten about this project....Months ago, when the project was first announced, I dropped by FeelThere's site, took a look at some of the prelim shots. I was bold enough to offer them some suggestions--picky things like layout of the cockpit windows, dynamic wing views, etc.... They said they'd look into it, in a very polite and nicely informal response. Then my wife must have walked in the room, because I forgot about it....After seeing Avsim's headline, I remembered.... So I took a peek at their site...All I can say is they've done a decent job. No panel, but they've kept the price very reasonable, an…

I'm having difficulty getting Sunny's gates to show. I 1st d/l'd the "Philadelphia" file. Then, per the corrected library edition, I d/l'd "Philadelpha_119966" - installed Ok, via FS's World-Scenery-Load" functions. After adding - the scenery shows up as usual in my library (various gate elections, etc.)I'm getting an error message that says: "Scenery library object not found. This may cause some scenery, such as some buildings, to not display." Of course, the scenery not appearing are the the added gates....... just what I d/l'd.The files missing are listed as: ID: Ox010A79CC, Ox406382CD, Ox88662A9, OxF1ECE670Anyone have a clue which files / d/l I'm missing to get …

Hi, I love FS2002! It is my favorite game and I love to teach other people how to fly. i also like to show em' what i can do and I am sure everyone would agree with me on that! As you know you are able to record and play a flight video on FS2002, my question is: Is there any way I could record a flight on FS2002 and then somehow convert it to a "file" and be able to open it and play it outside of FS2002 or be able to send it to someone without FS2002 thru e-mail so they could view it? If there is, is there anyway to ad some background music to it? If anyone has any knowledge of this please respond! Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciat…

After between 3 and 10 minutes after starting plane, I am losing almost all instruments and avionics. Just goes black and won't come back on. Upon looking at the Systems Failure menu I find that it shows an electrical system failure. Don't know why it is doing this because I never have armed the system failure boxes of any kind. Any clue as to what's happening? So far I have only tested it on two planes - default Boeing 737 and freeware Fokker 100-70. I have checked the system failure menu after airplane startup to make sure none of the boxes are checked but doesn't matter. Still fails after a few minutes. Any ideas? ThanksJim

  9. Hi everyone,As the subject informs, I live in complete fear!Ever since FS2002 was released I have spent countless hours flying its virtual skies, and at the same time enjoying all the freeware and payware I can lay my hands on. As time has passed I have developed my skills, and learned as much as I can about the complexities of .cfg files, installations, etc. And I would now consider myself fairly knowledgeable on the subject of addons, and all their associated component files, and the various problems that can be encountered when dealing with the many new files that we are lucky enough to be supplied with every day.However!...For about the last three or four months my…

Hey guys, been doing alot of flying in the Jamaica area and wanted to get my AI up to date. Need a low impact Twotter that has the prop animation showing, anyone have a link to one? I like the Dante models, but not practical for AI purposes and the new Globetwotter ones are great and a little less of an impact but still not good (Udo, if your listen how about an AI, low poly version??), tried a few FS2000 ones, but no props, any help would be appreciated!I really like this area, found some awesome freeware mesh, any other files you think I should check out, please let me know, Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAww…

  12. As has been a repeated topic on this forum with previous versions of FS, Microsoft has listened to us and now provides an airport beacon you can see from far away (distance dependent on atmospheric conditions).Once you reach the airport, the beacon takes on a "searchlight beam" effect that rotates with the white and green lighting, similar to a lighthouse. It's a cool effect! For those wondering, the lighting is more of a pinpoint pixel from a distance and changes to the beam effect when you are in the vicinity of the tower. Overall, the ground lighting in FS2004 is much clearer and sharper than it was in FS2002.So for those flying VFR at dusk, dawn, or nighttime, you can …

With the stock aircraft, I have absolutely no problem using the autoland feature, but for some reason, when i use it with my meljet or posky aircraft, the plane ends landing waaaaay before the start of the runway, and this happens all the time.I am using all the stock things that come with the plane (from the meljet and posky websites). Can anyone help? Thanks.regards,Bob

In an article in a flight sim magazine available here in the UK it is stated that FS2004 will only recognise Gmax aircraft. Is this correct and what will happen to all those aircraft designed using FSDS?Maybe another reason why I do not wish to buy the product when it comes out.David

Hey beta testers, do any VORs provide voice audio (ATIS, AWOS, FSS Advisories, Etc.) in FS2004? It's not a big deal but I'm always annoyed when I fly into Elmire NY and can't receive ATIS on 109.65 (ELM VOR). I've use Ithica ATIS but sometimes there are differences in the weather. R-

I do not make - yet... - the slightest idea about how it is with the other aircraft, but the following comment found at one of AVSIM's forums isn't really what I should call a compliment to fs2004 flight-model-wise, as I should have expected ...>Flight model: I haven't done more than initial flight>testing, but the fun factor of hovering this helicopter is>one of the highest of any FS helicopter.>Pedal movement is not really required. Whow!!! What a realistic feel it must have !!!! Great!!!>In a zero wind,>neutral pedal lift off, the helicopter only begins to yaw>left very slowly. And does it even require the engine to be working? That would add an add…

  18. Is anyone using the USB Elite MEL throttle quadrant with FS2002?http://www.flyelite.com/quadrants.aspI'm considering getting one, but they don't offer much detail on the web site. Mainly, does the USB version show up as a standard USB joystick, or does it require "special" software for it to work? If it does work as a standard USB joystick then there shouldn't be any problem using it with MSFS or any other games.

Hi,I am in the very early stage of preparing a book on Flight Simulation. For the documentation phase of this project I would like to scan the web for existing pictures. I do know of several applications doing this job but all are based on entering the URLS to be scan for pictures. I am looking for an application which would scan the web based on "keywords" such as "B737-400" or "ECAS". This would be much more efficient than searching for potentially interesting URL first then scanning the URLS as I do right now.Do you guys know if such application exists and where to get it.ThanksMichael
