I downloaded the latest Deternator Driver 4403 and the latest Nvidia stereo 3D Driver 4403. I found my Joystick does not work when I turn on the Stereo driver. Even if I turn it off the joystick does not work. I can go up and down in pitch, but will not enable me to bank my plane left or right. The only way I can use FS2002 is to end it and restart it. I have a sidewinder Microsoft Joystick, and does not happen with my other games, only FS2002.I have an AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz, 512 DDR Ram, 40 gbyte HD, a Gainward Ti4200 Geforce 4 card.Anyone else have this problem, or have a work around where I can use my Joystick? Tried it without joystick and still does not run, so somewhere…

Is it possible within FS 2004 when on an IFR flight plan to obtain current destination weather while en route (i.e. "leave frequency to get weather",etc.)?

Hi all,Just recently I've noticed that when I reboot my computer and go straight into a flight (using IFDG 767 British Airways or POSKY's 747 Pratt and whittny) the panel flashes on the display then a black screen appears then nothing. LOCKUP to the extent where CTRL, ALT and DEL dosent work though the engine sounds still run during this lockup. But the funny thing is if I load another plane first such as POSKY's General Electric or PSS Airbus and then load up the problem plane it works!! I just cannot get my head round this x( x( x( . Any feedback would be grateful.I am using PSS's 777 and 747 panels plus their sounds."If I got 1 pound for every time this computer crashed…

Hello to all:Well, here I go, usualy when I take off with my aircraft, I have the Auto Pilot off. After I reach about 1000 ft. I turn the Auto Pilot on, and set the heading and alt hold to active. The heading and altitud are selected before taking off. The problem is this, if I let go of the joke the aircraft will start to go nose down and lose altitud even when the Auto Pilot is active and the alt selector is active. Question, What is happening with the Auto Pilot that is not holding the aircraft on a nose up attitud so it can continue to climb to the selected alt on the Auto Pilot display. I have to help the Auto Pilot by holding back the joke and slowly moving it to t…

Hi, Just to add little comments on the scenery engine. The scenery engine in fs2004 update faster the ground texture than fs2002, there is less (dynamic blurring) with your type of system capability according to your details slider, also there is some line in the fs9.cfg And I use, with the MIP MAPPING slider to 5, increasing the mip mapping to 6 or 7, you will loose performance, by default like fs2k2 it is set at 4.TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.5000000Even JohnCi tell me the same thing, about the ground texture..ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs

Some nitty gritty questions about FS 2004:1. At night, do AI traffic turn on their strobe lights when they enter the runway and turn them off when they leave the runway? 2. Was the incorrect value for the coefficient of friction fixed for concrete? In other words, is break away and required taxi thrust for the 737 down to realistic levels?

I understand the folks at GoFlight are working on the keystroke code but have not heard about compatibility with FS2004. Has anyone recieved any feedback from them about this? They have always been on top of their game but again I dont remember seeing any posts regarding FS2004.ThanksBobG

Hello,I've recently upgraded my system to one that permits me to run quite a lot of AI traffic without a framerate hit. Very nice indeed :-)But I've come to discover that the traffic seems very predictable and limited- each flight from my home airport features much the same in the way of AI.Is there any add-on program which can "spiff up" the AI without 1. a hit to FPS and 2. minimal fussing around (I don't like to spend too much time messing with options in my add-ons)?All recommendations appreciated, thanks!Best,Joel

Just a reminder folks... If you purchase FS2004 from the AVSIM Store, you will automatically receive the limited edition version in the Tin package until supplies run out. If you have already ordered from AVSIM, you will also receive the Tin limited edition version. If you purchase from the AVSIM store, you will also have the satisfaction of knowing that some of your purchase went to support our system, future expansion, and the bandwidth we consume daily. So, while the supplies last, get your limited edition version of FS2004 from AVSIM today!

Hi guys,Now that the NDA is released - I have several questions. As some of you may know, my background is in ATC - so I'll keep the questions concise....1) Does ATC provide any sequencing to AI and user aircraft to prevent the "rash" of go-arounds that occur in FS2K2?2) Does ATC provide any kind of separation from conflicting aircraft during the enroute phase? (i.e. is there any vectoring around traffic - or just the standard traffic calls and alerts?)3) Is it possible to deviate around weather without being harrassed for flying off-course.4) Under any circumstances, will ATC ever terminate your IFR flightplan without you requesting cancellation?5) When flying a STAR, do…

Hi Geofa,Situation. Destination has two runways, 18/36 (9500 feet) and 9/27 (7000feet). At arrival, winds favor 27 (300/15). Ceiling 500 with 2 miles vis which is slightly better than non precision minimums (400/1.5). 27 has a VOR approach and 36 has an ILS. 1. Will ATC vector the arriving aircraft for the VOR27 approach automatically? Or must that be requested. 2. Has the nonsense of a "visual" approach to a non instrumented runway in IMC been eliminated?? Thanks,Paul

Hi,I have heard that FS2004 is using same navdata than FS2002. Do I correct? If I do, is there any way to update FS2004 to newest possible navdata for whole world? Because I think FS2002 navdata will be too old to use for next 2 years. This would be awesome thing because example Fly! 2 users will get updated navdatas requlary.

This is the first time this has ever happened to me. Started to install Crashbak 3 and off went the bells and whistles, luckily I had my protective shield up.

I just bought a MS sidewinder pp2 joystick and have a few questions, regarding controls.1) Whatever button i assign for brakes, i have to keep tapping that button, because if i hold it, the plane brakes for about half a second. Can anyone help?2) When i twist the joystick, the rudder moves, as well as the nosewheel. Can i seperate the two?3) When on the ground, moving the joystick left and right ( as you would to bank in the air) turns the aircraft. i though the aircraft would only turn at high speeds? Is this action some how linked to the nosewheel? Can i disable it?I would appreciate any help.
