Hi allSorry for such a bland post first up, im sure it will improve! FS 2002 works well with sliders at 3/4... Anyway i have FS2004 coming any day soon, and here is my system, which is average i guessPentium 3 - 1.5Ghz256Mb RamGeForce 3 64MBI cant afford a new computer, so i guess an update in graphics cards would be nice.. I would like a 128Mb, can anyone reccomend one that will help me get the most out of my average spec? i guess some RAM would be money well spent too...Cheers

I have the original Microsoft Sidewinder Force-Feedback Pro joystick that worked flawlessly since I purchased four years ago. I was reading on Andrew Herd's FAQ in the "other flightsim" site that this joystick will NOT work with COF under Windows XP.Has any of ya'll who already have the sim already had any problems using this joystick? I'd hate to throw away a perfectly good joystick simply because it won' work with COF under Win XP.Thanks and hopefully I'll find a copy of COF in one of the area Office Depots around here, if not.....Tuesday can't get here fast enough!!John in Auburn, Ga

I thought I finally had everything set right. I was about 50 milesEast of Palm Springs, CA flying east to Phoenix, AZ, few clouds and my frame rate pretty good, all of a sudden I get this. I sure am having problems getting FS9 set up; I thought FS9 should run pretty good on my system. Slider settings are about 75% of max and no antialising. As you can see there is no scenery to speak of and very little weather. Hello all, this may sound dumb but I can't find the FS2004 config in my FS9 folder. The only config files I have are :Devices.cfgDisplay.cfgScenery.cfgSuneffect.cfgTerrain.cfgSoooo where is it?I hope I am not missing something here. :-lolThere is supposed to be a config. file like in FS2002 right??

24 hours after purchase, SWV still has'nt given me a download , account etc, so what are they doing. Are there more guys who have the same problem with SWV? I don't have 2004 yet, but have been reading about the undocking woes with multiple monitors.Is it a case of...1) An extra unecessary step has been added (having first to go into window mode and then undocking and dragging to other monitors then full screening again), but after that it's basically the same as 2002?2) Multi-monitor has been FUBAR'd and, for instance, you now can't set up a multi-mon configuration for a plane and have it start up the same way every time (like it does now in 2002)or 3) There's some other serious blight that I haven't been able to glean just by reading the messages here?I could live with 1) but I'll be weeping if it's 2) or 3).Thanks in advan…

Hi all, I have noticed that in FS2002 when I looked left and right I can look down and up by pressing SHIFT+ENTER for down and SHIFT+BACKSPACE for up...I can still do that in FS2004 only on the forward view, but not the side views. Has anyone been able to do that via the keyboard? It can be done just fine in the external view.Thanks,Bill

I hope this is posted in the correct forum. I looked for the hardware forum and could not find it.I am expecting delivery of FS2004 on the 29th. The problem is, I have just established that neither CD drive on my computer will recognize disks. I have a traditional CD drive and a CD Burner. Both power up when a CD is inserted and will spin for a bit. The read light comes on. Then nothing. If I try to click on the drive through My Computer, I get the message saying please insert a disk in Drive whatever. I get the same error message when I right click on the drive and choose Open or Explore. I have tried several CD's. Both drives will actually open if I choose the…

Hi, is there a setting or something in FS2004 that alows that sim to start on my default San Diego startup in the ground instead of the menu screen? I was able to do that in FS2002.Thank,Bill

Anyone notice that the cowl flap lever travels the wrong direction in the VC (though it moves correctly in the 2D panel)? Just a minor glitch but hopefully something Carenado might fix in the next update.Best,Joel

I hope this question doesn't sound to dumb: If I set my video card settings for Anisotropic Filtering (AF) for a given number, and do the same for Antialiasing (AA), should the Antialiasing option be checked or unchecked within the FS2004 options display setup window? Or should the AA option only be checked within FS2004 if your using the "Application Preference" option for the AA of AF video card settings? Also, what exactly does AF do and how important is it?Hope someone can answer this for me.Thank You,flyking

Well, I can see I will still be using my trusty ol FS2002 for a good while to come. First reviews of the program just don't seem to show anything drastically different. Does seem a bit touchy on the JS sensitivities. Textures of addon aircraft seem to be a bit blurred. A test of my project "Legacy" worked OK but the dynamic shine was a lot hotter (brighter). Program adjustments hopefully will fix this. I am having funky graphics problems, such as blacked out menu screens even with the latest video drivers. Not sure if that may be due to the card or what. Using an AGP Geforce 4 TI4600+ 128 meg. Have to switch to none 3D to make any option changes. Any suggestions would b…

Hi,I have been running FS2002 with Windows 98SE for the past year and a half without a single problem will I be able to do the same with FS2004? Just got the sim and I thought it would be interesting to hear what the first flight that people flew was and what they thought.Mine was St. Paul, Minnesota USA (KSTP) to Minneapolis (KMSP). I had the weather set to somewhat cloudy with rain coming in. Liked the way the turbulence felt and loved the lightning effects. So far I am extremely pleased and have much more exploring to do.

I just installed Fs2004. Im very happy with it. However I fly a lot in the NY area and noticed the water looks light blue like water would in the south pacific or caribean islands. Not like water in NYC (dark and dirty). I was wondering if I had something set wrong or if that was just the way it is. My system is P.4 3.2, Geforce 5800. Thanks for any help.Rob
