I downloaded the $7.50 upgrade for the FSD Commander and it will not update. I get an error saying my OS (win2k) will not the allow the install wrapper to manipulate my system folders and start menu and shortcuts and folders. Maybe I missed it, but do I have to give administrator rights to an install wrapper to for a $7.50 update? I

I am trying to make my flights as real as possible. For that reason I have a couple of questions for real airliners pilotsTaking off procedure: Flaps at 5; GPS button on; Auto Pilot and Auto Throttle on; Altitude and Vertical Speed set as desired (normally I set the VS at 2.5k or 3k, depending on the plane), Speed set as desired, Yaw damper on. Then full throttle and at 150 knots (average) press TO/GA button. Once in the air immediately landing gear up, Altitude hold

I've read lots of posts about FS2004, both good and bad. Most of us who frequent forums such as this one will be used to all the tweaks and contortions that have to be gone through to get each new version of MSFS to work as we would like it to. But spare a thought for this.MSFS is sold as a game and most people who buy it will not be hardcore simmers or flight simmers of any description. Many buyers will be parents buying MSFS for the first time for their children. Imagine the parents' frustration and their children's disappointment when they find that they have wierd problems with their graphics cards, don't understand that the sliders are meant to try and make the p…

Hi guys! I've read about some users experiencing stutters with FS2004. Is this problem related to specific video cards? I'm getting them too - every 4 or 5 seconds the sim will freeze for about 1 or 2 seconds - I currently run a GeForce 4 Go 460 64MB.Is there any way to fix this?:) Melvin Rafihttp://www.meljet.com

After owning this sim for awhile and reading the other post here on this and other forums it seems Microsoft has dropped the ball on this one. Here are some issues I've found so far that make the sim unplayable and keep me going back to FS2k2,1. Dancing mountains in the distance at higher altitude..2. ATI Radeon display issues (9500, 9700, and 9800)3. No true overcast unless you add multiple cloud layers (doesn't work to well with downloaded weather as the weather is already preset).4. 3D clouds that kill frame rates when your flying above them. The clouds don't have the since to know that (smile) your aircraft is tens of thousands of feet above them, they always look a…

Does anyone have one, and got it working in FS2004? I can't climb or descend with it (I can do everything else). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, MikeP4 1.6 GHz768MB RAMGeforce 3 Ti 200Win XP Home

Maybe others can try this.(1) Select any aircraft with the engine running or start the engine. Now users with the CH Yoke and Pedals (USB) change your sensitivities, and hit OK. This problem may be produced by any change to any joystick sensitivities. Here is the problem: When you return to the A/C Panel, the engine shuts down.. Bug or By Design Feature?? (2) The A/I aircraft sequencing problem is not resolved, unless this was just a fluke.. See attachment. This aircraft overtook me on final. Attachment: http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26194.jpg(3) On Final, ATC gave me a Go Around, and vectored me about 40 miles from the airport on a Missed Approach. I was handed …

Anone using this combo AETI AFCS 2 yoke, FS2004 COF, and Win XP. I am unable to assign the two toggle switches on the left side of the yoke to any assignment in FS2004. I could do it with F2002, and Win98SE.Any ideas. Also what game port driver do I use?JohnP4 2.53Ghz, ASUS P4S8X Mobo, 512Mb Ram PC2700, ATI 5700 AGP, SB Live, WinXp Pro, (2) 80GM Maxtor 7200 RPM drives. http://www.flagball.com/~jthomas/jtsig.jpg

I don't have my copy yet but from what I am getting from some of the mini-reviews, the flight models in FS2004 are much better. Specifically, as someone said, the aircraft now have the feeling of having "inertia".I recall my initial flight in FS2002 with the 182RG, pitch control was way too sensitive and adjusting the sliders made no difference. I could barely control the plane using my flight yoke. Now, the consensus seems to be that the flight models are much better. I trust that overly sensitive pitch is no longer a problem.Bob K

I was wondering if anyone else is having similar problems with FS2004. They seem to be related to video card issues. I have an Athlon 2700+, 512 mb RAM, and a GeForce Ti 4400 128 MB video card, and am running XP.First I downloaded the 44.67 drivers from http://www.guru3d.com. I think that this driver is only required for FX cards, but I installed them anyway. Even though Microsoft says you need these drivers for FX cards, they are not yet available at NVidia's site. Maybe they will be by Tuesday.I was able to get past the splash screen once. Then after that, the splash screen would load, but then go away. The process fs9.exe just disappeared from Task Manager.I wen…

Down to me to ask the daft question; I don't care, I'm past the age where you stop worrying about it :)I've noticed some people mention "tin" version of FS2004, what does this mean? "Gold", I think means it's passed Beta?Another one, is there a Standard and Pro Version?Just so I know what to ask for in the shop on Friday."anything is Possible"

Not bashing ..Just sharing: :-)1) Did a flight in a 737 call sign Bahamasair 014 into Miami and I kept getting yelled at by ATC TWR for not answering. Turns out they were calling me Aviateca 014. Took me a while to catch on. Think Maybe Miami ATC only knows Spanish flights 2) Did a flight again 737 Orlando to Miami American call sign. Departing Orlando I taxied into a cloud on the ground at rwy 36L. Talk about shutting down frame rates. And yes my dynamic weather was set to off, just about like everything else3) Descending into Miami ATC tells me to report traffic in sight at my 6 o'clock. So I am asking MS to equip their jets with periscopes so I can up periscope and loo…

I had uploaded to avsim FS2004 flight recordings of touch & go's on the aircraft carrier west of San Francisco with the Boeing 737 and Boeing 747, but I guess whoever reviews the files decided they weren't worth putting online. Oh well. Unlike previous versions of FS, you can change camera views during playback. I thought they were neat. If anyone wants to see them, let me know and I'll put a link to my own website where you can download them.

When I installed Fs2004 I selected custom install and the installerinstalled it to the Drive C. I gave me no other options. Did I do something wrong or miss something? I would like to put it on Drive d:
