Hey guys, just got FS9 this morning. Everything is awesome, but there is one thing that really bothers me, the vc pan rate. In fs2k2 you could change it in the fs2002 cfg file, I've looked through the FS9 cfg file and there is nothing about pan rate in there. So if someone knows how to do it or finds a way to change it, post it in this thread! Thanks alot!

I wish I had a screen shot.. But the runway lighting is a major improvement over FS 2002. It is spectacular! Also the aircraft landing lights actually light up the runway..Amazing.. Get your copy tomorrow!Barry

Maybe some people can help out with this theory. We all know FS2k4 has an issue with ATI cards. I for one have more than enough PC horsepower to run FS2k4 (Dell 8300 2.6gig 800FSB). Chris Willis has standed firm is his support of FS2k4 and others have posted screenshots of reasonable overcast in FS2k4. Mackenson informed me that FS2k4's weather system displays clouds based on what your system can handle. Now what I'm wondering, is my ATI Radeon9700pro the bottleneck??? Seeing that this card already has a problem with FS2k4, is it the culprit behind why so many of us can't get an overcast...Feedback is welcome......

Wih the newest version, as well as previous verions of FS, I have always used the full screen option of viewing. Now, I am wondering why the option of windowed mode is there to begin with. Can someone give me an honest assesment on whether there is some advantage over using one mode versus the other? I used to think it was simply because windowed mode did not take advantage of your 3d card. Obviously I'm not a technical guru on this subject, and your advise would be appreciated.

I have came across a really big problem... In certain aircraft the main pannel will appear in all black. If I mouse over the completely dark area, the cursor will still act as if there is a gauge there. I can go to VC view. This is very true with the ALL of the new classic/historical aircraft. But one other variation of this problem is in the B734. It shows the main panel and all gauges with no problem, untill I click on the radio stack button. When I do, the main panel goes black and the radio stack comes up all brown. I can undock windows and they show fine. I have been a user of FS since 95 and haven't seen anything like this. If anyone else has had this prob…

Looks like MS used either Gmax or 3D Studio Max to create the clouds...follow the link belowhttp://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/downloads.asp

I just went to five different stores and had five different answers as to why I cannot have a copy of COF. LOL. Oh well there is empty spots at all those stores so as to make room for FS2004. Some of the sales people said there were quite a few calls looking for COF. I did learn one thing though, Walmart is listing the program at 49.95. Now I need an excuse as to why I will not be coming into work tomorrow! :-lol

Hiin fs2002 I allways fly real weather realtime, but with the graphic setting to te left, mainly because Im interessed in the efects of the weather in the flight and not in the visuals, i.e real world weather provides me winds, pressure, visibility (not clowds), temperatures, but I don't have clowds in the sky for that efect, altought managing to select runways, reduced thrust settings, cruise altitudes.... weather and graphic settings are independent, and because of this I don't get any drop in the FPS either with or without weather.I've heard that real weather in fs2004 is very FPS intensive, does this mean that the settings for both weather(the downloaded one) and grap…

So I'm curious, are the aircraft sounds updated at all? To be honest I hope so, the default FS2002 engine sounds were pretty ridiculous. BTW, I just got fired from my job and it's PERFECT timing, I'll have all day tomorrow to fly :-D

Hi there,I bought FS2000 when it was released and deleted it after about a day. I was so disenchanted that I ignored FS2002, but I'm going to buy FS2004 (hopefully on Friday).I'm one of the few (many?) who's actually looking forward to the historic planes. I expect to be doing quite a bit of time in the Curtis Jenny and am eagerly looking forward to some more biplane addons (any suggestions for good ones?)Anyway, what I'm also looking forward to is some good nap-of-earth (NOE) flying. Can anyone suggest some good locations (anywhere in the World) for zooming around valleys, hills, etc.? Are there any mountain landing strips? Does FS2004 have high-tension pylons and the li…

I really have been thinking about this, I went to their website and read a little bit. I didn't get a clear picture from it so I am asking someone who uses it. What benefits is there from using this, and does it have any FS2004 bugs? What can it do that REAL WORLD WEATHER cannot? and last what do you find is wrong with [email protected]

I just installed FS2004 and it worked until I changed something and now I cant see anything except the plan at the start up screen. the rest is all black and I cant see any of the options to set things up. I have unistalled and reinstalled twice and the same problem. I have a P2.4 533 fFSB 512Ram 128mag Nvidia GeForce4 MX440 SE video card and the computer is newly built with ans Albatron Motherboard. I have Anti Alsiing at 2X and I can't figure out what might be wrong any help would be great. Thanks much from a dissapointed simmer. I do have to admit I had some very pretty scenery while it worked but started taking a huge frame hit with dowload weather and I had backe…

I've been using the 24.42 nVidia drivers but based on a few reviews I'd like to try the 30.82 driver set. I want to tweak the drivers with RivaTuner but when I extract the files from the executable, I get files such as "nvdisp_4.dl_" rather than "nvdisp_4.dll" as I did when I extracted the 29.42 drivers.Of course RivaTuner cannot recognize the file extension .dl_ and the only way I can figure out to get the complete file name is to install the drivers, but then they can't be tweak while the drivers are in use.Can someone tell me how to do this? I'm using WinRAR to extract the files. Thanks.

Does FS2004 take as long as FS2002 took to load. I'm referring to intial start up with the Splash Screen and loading a flight once you hit Fly Now. I was able to make myself a sandwich while the flight was loading in FS2k2. :)

Well, I have now flown the real thing. On July 26th,2003 I traveled to Livermore, CA. to fly with AircombatUSA. Spent a little over and hour Dogfighting in the SF260. I quit flying about 30 years ago. This was my first time back with a stick in my hand. The real plane is an absolute dream to fly. The stick requires almost no input. It feels like the plane reads your mind. My check pilot was a California National Guard F16 pilot. He said the SF260 handles like the F16. It just fly's slower. We had the speeds up near the limit several times. At the merge with fight's on, about 350 kts closure speed. A couple of times I must have pulled over 4 G's. It doesn't take much. Was v…

I know I've posted some topics about this new sim that some don't agree with but I have to give credit where it's due. The flight modeling in FS2k4 seems to be better than ever. Turbulence, icing, etc. are modeled wonderfully. FS2k4 is the king/best ever for low level flight, frame rates are solid and better than what we saw with FS2k2. I think this new sim was designed for bush pilots because 32,000ft flights just don't cut it if you can't get a complete overcast or once above the clouds framerates take a nose dive do to the effect of the 3D clouds. For me I'll have to keep it below 10,000 because this sim is awesome at that altitude. I think X-Plane might have a r…

Hi there,I was just wondering what the final build number of FS9 is? If I remember correctly when FS2002 was shipped there were two different builds out there, but I may be wrong. So what is the latest build number? And BTW, is the latest build always the same as the "gold" build? Thanks in advance,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAthlonXP2000,AbitKX7-333(latest4in1),512MB/2700SDRAM,WinXP,DirectX8.1,Geforce3TI200(128MB)(Det.30.82),SBlive(WDM5.1.2601.0)

Thought I'd post this here too (originally at FSN)Just flew my first flight after buying the sim earlier tonight at Best Buy - here's my first impressions of the sim:Default Lear, KTUS-KPHX, ActiveSky 1.9 weather, FSUIPC 3.02I must say that I'm very impressed. I was not expecting the sim to look or run well on my current system (Athlon 1.4, 512MB, GF3) but to my great surprise it ran and looked very good. First off, don't believe what anyone says about the sim not looking better than 2002. Even sitting on the ramp at KTUS I could tell this was a new product. The tower looks very realistic (the turning beacon is great), you can actually SEE where you're going on the taxiwa…
