I wondered what you guys think of the Lear jet included with Fs2004. I think it turned out to be my favorite of the default aircraft. My next favorite is the DC-3. In the prevous versions the default lear was the worst of the bunch, but this one is like night and day difference. Flies better and looks much better too. The VC seems much improved too.Rob

Howdy all you 2004 early birds ;-)A couple questions for ya:#1 Is it possible to use FS Navigator with 2004? No I haven't tried yet, just curious if anyone out there had it working.#2 Have any of you changed the "Extended terrain texture factor=1" to a 3 or 4? Not sure if I got the exact name right there, but in 2002 it was set at 1 as a default as well as it is in 2004. I tried changing it then everytime I tried starting 2004 I'd get to the splash screen then it would just shut down. I also added some planes at the same time, so not sure what caused it. I then went to "Start/Programs/Microsoft Games/FS9/restore defaults and it started back up fine again?Just curious…

Hi all...Not trying to be a Troll, but i thought i'd share, same as anybody else. I'm a Long Island/NYC native, so obviously when i got FS2k4, i checked out my "neighborhood". The east end of long island is all blocks! there is no coast line, only mile-wide squares of terrain.i'm hoping that i'm just missing some landclass file, but i don't know. can someone verify?

Need your help. Something happens in my fs2002 pro: I CANT STOPPING MY TURBO PLANES on land (like cessna original amphibian, otter 300 and all turbo propeller ones), EVEN I stand the throttle and propeller in the idle position. This little birds only remain stopped when I aplly the parking brakes. All the others planes (jets, non-turbo lights, heavies etc) are working without problems.Does anyone knows what to do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

  7. 3 painful long installs, but its finally on board...1st time got errors after the files were copied saying "Scenery Read Error. Attempting to open a nonexistant directory, click OK to continue"2nd time it just crapped out on Disk 3 saying something about me not having enough memory (512MB of DDR..how much more do you want?!?!)3rd time lucky it looks...Anyways, make sure you have ALOT more than the 1.8MGB of space M$ claims the sim requires ...I did a full install and it appears to have taken in the area of 3GB of space. It seems the scenery errors I receieved were due to the way the install program works. The scenery files located on CD 4 are not decompressed directly to …

My hope airport is KISP and in FS2004, the terminal didn't change much at all in FS2004 but the control tower was changed. Long Island in FS2004 is still missing Lake Ronkonkoma, the Montauk Light house, and Robet Mosses Light which is suprising cause those are good landmarks for VFR flights.

gents, I just installed 2004 last night. everything went fine, but when I went to quit the program, my computer automatically rebooted. when I tried to run 2004 again, it wouldn't run unless I had CD 4 in the drive. When I put it in, I got the 2004 splash screen, and nothing else. it just hung. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and the same thing happened. first time is fine, then when I quit, the reboot, then nothing. FS2002 still runs fine. I did notice that my machine seems slow when the desktop shortcuts come on after the reboot. I'm no PC whiz by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm not sure where to start. anyway, if you have any ideas....mjbXP2100ram: 1 gigHD 110…

I downloaded EAA Airventure Oshkosh yesterday and checked it out in my Marchetti 260 last night. I never knew how flat Wisconsin really was! Pretty cool. Here is the URL to the download:http://zone.msn.com/flightsim/FS02SpecialOshkosh.aspI am fairly new to flight simming so I just had to go to the show in a virtual way. I did not see all the planes with the tents next to them though. Maybe you will see it.

Sorry about the dramatic title.I only got FS9 yesterday and I spent a enjoyable three hours putting it through its paces flying the default aircraft. Most impressed I must say.Ok, now the bad news.Having found my way round the simulator and set up the configuration to suite my hardware, I decided to try installing one of my favorite add-on aircraft, namely AFG's NAMC YS-11.All went well and I was delighted to see the aircraft and panel come up without any problem. After a while though, I had my first hard crash (requires PC restart). The crashes became more frequent so I removed the YS-11.The crashes continued and I decided to re-install FS9.Having uninstalled the program c…

With so many sliders to work with it almost becomes overwhelming to tweak fs2004 just the way you want it.Right now I have it in what I would call vfr/ifr mode-lots of scenery, autogen, brilliant clouds-getting 20 fps with sometimes a bog down to 10 and a few stutters when taxiing at a dense airport. How about being able to save "performance" scenerios that you can click before starting the sim-alla windows xp log on (different users). Automatically being able to switch performance modes (maximum tweaked slider settings) on the fly depending on what type of flying you want to do.You could have an "ifr" mode-where autogen, scenery objects, shadows etc. are all turned down-w…

Hey Gang!I know that TJSJ is not necesarily high on the "pizzaz" list of airports for Microsoft, but there are some autogen buildings that are being populated right in the middle of the TJSJ airport that do not belong there in real life. There is this particular tall building that appears on the East side of the American Airlines concourse that simply makes the airport look "Acinine". Is there a way to remove this building so it does not show up?I'm counting my lucky stars that someone like Efrain Ruiz or so will come out with a nice TJSJ airport enhancement/addition for 2004.Thanks for any input!Sincerely,Dennis D. 17. HII have attained MSFS's idle thrust problem again in FS9.Even with parking brakes on, the lear is slowly creeping forward.I tweaked the axis settings for null etc.. and also re-calibrated my joystick CH pro both inside and ourtside FS9.Also the KingAir has become unusable. This was NOT the case when I first loaded FS(. Instead of reloading the sim I was wondering what the proper fix, other than an FSUIPC purchase is used.(?)Allen
