Using differential braking to steer the DC3 on the ground works well, but it also works differently than I would have expected. If I press f11 or f12 the plane turns, but it keeps turning even after I release the key. I have to correct by pressing the other key. F11 then f12. F12 then f11. Okay, this is VERY odd... I love FS2004.. all few minutes I can TAXI in it. When I change a view a high pitched elongated *BEEP* is blasting nonstop. Kinda like the hospital flatline sound. Anyway, this high pitched sound takes over every other sound on my system, even after I close FS9 and open up an mp3 or something of that sort. NO OTHER SOUND WORKS ON MY COMPUTER THEREAFTER. I've tried the logical thing; turning off my ALTEC THX 4.1 speakers and then turning them on again, but the ringing is still there. The only way I can get rid of this annoyance is by restarting the whole computer. I've tried uninstalling completely and reinstalling FS2004 twice now, and s…

I got FS2004, it runs perfectly(almost), I changed many things: display, traffic, weather etc.....and the changes are being saved, when I rerun FS2004 the changes are made.I understand that the FS9.cfg file is supposed to be in C:DOCUMENTS...|....I found my flight simulator folder with other files like plans and flight, but NO FS9.cfg.I ran a search on all my drives with no result.Strange, huh? By the way, I do have my drives set to show all hidden files.Would appreciate any help.Thanks.Abe

Good day!As my first post on the forum, I'd like to say that this site provides a wealth of information for all FS enthusiasts and real pilots alike.Here's the problem I'm experiencing in FS2004.When I am using the autopilot and have reached my desired altitude, e.g.: FL350, it appears as though the jet has about 5 degrees nose-up pitch. I am unable to trim the aircraft to level flight as each manual adjustment I make, the autopilot reverts to the nose-up flying.Has anyone else experienced this?Thank you for your help.Tony

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this but here goes.I'm having trouble with some of the planes (default and otherwise) in FS2004. Trying to access doors and engines other then number 1 doesn't work. Tried Shift E + 2 but only opens door number 1. Samething with the engines. The engines are worse, if I try to access, say, engine 2, engine 1 is the one that only works. And then I can't get back to all engines after that. Tried E + 1,2,3,4 but nothing but engine 1 unless I reload the aircraft. This is very annoying. Any help? Having the same problem?

is anyone modeling a lancair columbia 300/350/400tc this is one of the greatest new aircraft being built but there isn't 1 for FS

I wonder if someone can help me with this problem.I have an XP2100+ with a GeForce2 TI 64 Mb card. My system has 512 MB of RAM, and a SB Audigy sound card. I also have a 640 MB permanemt swap file.I did a FULL INSTALL with 2.59 Gigabytes of files in the FS2004 directory and run FS2004 with the CD Disk #4 in my CDROM Drive.My problem wuth FS2004 is that while I am flying it stops periodically to load new scenery textures into memory. If I am flying at night it resets the time to day. I have no problems with FS2002.I sure would be grateful if someone has any advice on this matter.Thanks in advance...............S

I went into Tampa Intl. in Lear 45. Parked exactly as per ground control. Went to check out top down view (Ctrl-S, which is first class in all respects), and when I zoomed back "down" ATC had parked another big jet right on top of me. Sort of funny....Lots of bridges missing, roads ending in wrong spots, and bridges starting and coming out of the water, around Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Tampa.Somehow I think we are going to see a patch this time around.Check out that top down view, with + and -, and with progressive taxi, when you get to the airport. It is exceptionally nice, especially zooming way out (High) !!!!This was my first full ILS landing in a Jet (the Lear 45) …

I used the express install first and had to use the cdrom to run. I then deleted the program and started over by going into custom install and choosing the full install. I thought this would make it go without the cdrom, but it's still asking for it.Any suggestions?Thanks,Matt

i have been enjoying FS2002 (hereafter refered to as simply 4) especially the combination of the df c310 into 4so all was good then i noticed last night (i fly for my va eagle express and im doing air taxi service in and out of kosh) i take off out of kosh climb out and i notice once i get my climb established and all tha, that my pointer icon in the vc, is going wacky, every time i wanted to change the alt. or whatever, it would flash between, the salt timer, arrow and hand very quickly and keep cycling like that .. welllmmm then i also noticed that just before takeoff and just after landing, if i switch my taxi/landing lights on/off the lighting effect would take place …

I just installed FS04 and am pleased so far, but I'm just curious about one thing I noticed. In FS2002, I was getting around 20 fps in the air with mostly sky and a little ground texture and as I neared the ground with detailed buildings taking shape, fps dropped as expected. In FS04, the opposite seems true. I had 12-19 around the ground and while in the air looking at mostly sky, it seemed to be around 9 12. I even had clear sky. One thing that disappointed me was the hydrography. My local river (Susquehanna in Pa) still is inaccurate, overly fat and instantly a trickle through my hometown. It seems they used the same textures from FS02. From what I can see, the flight …

Just wanted to know if anyone has had the same thing happening to them. I have tried to set the display settings for the plane to ultra-high. I go back to the plane. then back to the settings. The setting is set back to high. Anyone kmow what is up with this???Eddie

Initial framerates with FS2004 were 4 (near airports) to 19 (over ocean).I installed the Nvidia 44.03 drivers and got an invalid page fault in Panels.dll. Checked the drivers, scandisked, defragged, uninstalled (being careful to get all the little bits and pieces) and reinstalled. Now I can't get past the splash screen because of the panels.dll(invalid page fault in modules panels.dll) error. No problems with any other software.I would install the unofficial drivers I've seen posts about if I could be sure they would work. Any ideas?I'm probably looki…

Hello All,Well, I've been playing with this new toy, on and off for the past three days . . . and have come up with some interesting conclusions.I think if you had 2002 running well . . .within a short time, (short time meaning when the developers get our patches for our favorite aircraft in the works, we learn all the in's and out's of 2004 and there are some additional addon's being offered), we will find that this is a great step forward for flight simming.Frame rates are what I expected, I run a 1.8 P4 overclocked to 2.2 with a Ti 4600 and in 2002, with everything maxed out I was locked at 30 and always running at 25 or so. Wondering if anyone has solved this. While flying in the VC, I had assigned a button on my throttle asm to snap my view to look forward. In FS2002 shift+num8 worked, now it does not. Any one figure out how to make this work in FS2004? Somewhere their must be a way to get this to work again. I installed FS9 on my 1 gig system with GEForce Ultra (64 megs) video. The trees all have black rectangles around them. There is a large black rectangle in the sky, probably where the sun would be, that causes the whole screen to go black if you pan around to look at it. The particles kicked up by the tires when taxiing on the ground are also large squares and rectangles. And the aircraft shadow flashes on and off.Any ideas?Thanks!Dewey

Hello, I had to reformat my hard drive and re-install WindowsXP. Everything is working ok except for the sound in FS2002.Every time I retract the landing gear or change flap settings etc I get distorted sound until the actions are completed. The sound is fine while just flying but as soon as I activate something I get this garbled sound.The only thing I installed differently this time was Directx 9.0. I just found that when you open the check list (kneeboard icon), you can move it to a second monitor. You can do this full screen. Just drag it over. Thought this maybe helpful to some. I too am still in a tizzy over the no undocking thing. Jim
