Anyone have a fix for the riminder box popping up?I have unchecked the reminder box but I still keep having it pop up.Thanks in advance for [email protected] Evans

Finally arrived, took 12hours to cover the last 10 miles.(Taken from UPS tracking info) I installed to my old machine;which is just about the bootom of the heap. 1.2Mhz, 256 Megs, GF2MX400 64 megs.Windows ME. This system has been running 2002 ok for the past couple of years, but I was really surprised to find that it also runs 2004. The only real problem I had was that I did a custom install.( I wanted to install to Drive "D", but was not given an option of drives. It was placed on drive "C". All checking I did on this sim was at low level (2000-3000 ft. altitude) Frame rates ran from about 10 to 19.5 (Locked at 20) Hope this info is useful to someone with a similar syste…

Hi folks,I was just wondering, how do you remove DirectX? I installed a "new" graphics card last night, a GeForce 4 MX440 64Mb (not that new, but cheap!) and have accidently installed DirectX 9.I am experiencing problems with FS2002 with missing menus, corrupted text and crashes. The sim crashes when I switch to external view, and the crash is total - it's a switch off and back on job. I think this may be linked to my mistake! I installed the first set of Detonator drivers, 28.32, as downloads of 40.xx were not working and Windows XP's drivers were REALLY old!!Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

Its been a while since I purchased these products for 2002.. If I recall, people seemed to like the new ActiveSky over FsMeteo.I'm not sure which to get for 2004...I assume they will help the inaccurate Wx problem we are seeing now. Has anyone have any experiance w these two..Even if you've just tried it, I for one want to get one of these soon!Anyone?Walt,

As other posts mention 2004 is very usable on slower machines if you have a good video card and enough RAM. I should note that I could care less about the new weather and scenery and I usually have the WX set for overcast for 200'agl to 20000' agl with 2 miles surface visibility for real world instrument practice. That being said I have messed around with the new weather and find I can display the new effects with solid frame rates if I don't get too greedy on the settings. The scenery & WX graphics are in general several notches better in 2004 (even with 3D clouds and special effects off) and Im getting the same frame rates with similar settings as compared to 200…

Yesterday I made a new flight using the flight planner from EKCH to KJFK, Kastrup in Denmark to New York. Now the flight planner decided I need to take a route to first UK and then up over Greenland, this I can understand. But then the rest of the route was from greenland and over to the alaskan border, make a left turn heading down to New York...this doesn't make sense, or does it?

Why did they have to bury user settings so deep, i.e. in User/application data/microsoft/FS9 as well as the Flight Simulator Files directory.Makes making backups of settings even more difficult...

I tried it on VATSIM last night and was able to see other other aircraft. The documents do make it seem as though you can only connect to IVAO with it but this is not true. Yesterday I flew in the San Francisco Bay area when I saw a peculiar entry in the 'nearest airport'-list: Hamilton AAF. I could select traffic, but no runway... not that strange, Hamilton is closed for almost 8 years now. The lay-out of the airport is still there, in FS2004, with yellow 'X'-s on the runway. Still, it was in the list.But... when I approached Alameda NAS, I was able to contact Alameda tower, and get clearance to land on RWY 25. Alameda NAS is also closed for a few years now, the runways are 'X' marked...Now I wonder how old the airport data is in FS2004. Those two airports were actually closed in FS2002. Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that AI…

I wanted to either email or burn the helpfiles and/or manual to a CD so I could print them on my office laser printer. However, I can't find them in the FS9 directory. I did a search for .pdf files. Any idea where they are and what they are called? I am especially interested in the GPS manual.

Does the regular box edition have the CD holder rather than the cardboard inserts. Would rather have the holder like the one that came with FS2000 that held all the CDs....Any suggestions. Thanks, JayDub

I purchased mine from Wal-Mart, and in addition to the "Tin" box, they had a Corgi Cast Iron and plastic replica of the Wright Flyer packaged to it.Do all the tin box sets include the little Wright Flyer, or is that a special Wal-Mart deal.If it is a special Wal-Mart deal, I'm impressed. In the advanced weather dialog in FS2004, is it possible to set not only wind direction, but also wind direction variation?eg:direction: 240 degreesvariation: 10 degreesI don't remember if this was possible in FS2002, but I can't see it in FS2004.I have found it in the weather themes, so the value is definitely used by FS2004...Cheers, Christian
