Inside the folder where the FS9.cfg file is located, are a whole bungh of folders which match the aircraft that you have installed. Inside each of these folders is a "state.cfg" file. I noticed the following lines inside my lear folder's state.cfg file:[engine.0]accumulated_time=14.169554[engine.1]accumulated_time=14.157217Does FS9 actually use this to simulate wear on engines? Perhaps it's for 3rd party programs usage? Does anyone have any ideas if it does anything at all?- Martin

Just did a clean install of the the new GoFlight 1.27 software (Windows XP), and it seems to be full of problems working with FS2004. This in contrast to the seamless operation of the old software in FS2002.Specifically, the problems I'm having are:1. No recognition of the GF-45 unit from a P-8. I used to have this programmed to allow the P-8 to drive the G-45 as an autopilot and intrument. Now it won't even make the G45 light up (though the 45 lights up fine during programming and startup)2. P-8 doesn't run the GF-166 well- the Com1 seems to function, but not the Nav1, ADF, transponder select, etc.3. All the lights on all the buttons are "on" each time I start up FS2004…

When I edit the lines in the FS9.cfg with these: RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.5 //scales edge, center, end, touchdown, runways RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.5 // scales VASI lights) RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.5 // scales approach light bars RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.5 //scales RAILs and ODALs) to tone down those dreadful FS2004 lights (runway, VASI, etc) in order to make them more realistic, FS blacks out then never returns. I've got to bring up the Task Manager to close FS, because it hangs. The lower the number I put, the shorter the time it takes to black out. However, when it's set to the original value of 1.0, it doesn't black out. Hardware-rendered l…

Hi all,I have a problem with my CH USB yoke, I am currently running FS 2002 and have lost the use of both mixture and prop levers. When I go into FSUIPC I am unable to set both of these levers, they just stay on 0. I have in the past used them successfully and used the mixture for reverse thrust and prop for spoilers when flying jets. I have uninstalled FSUIPC and then reinstalled, I have deleted the data base for FSUIPC and started a new one, but still no joy. When I go into calibration both levers work fine? Can anyone help?Regards

The thread was getting long, so amazed as I am, I am having absolutely no problems with the 9700 Pro, windowed or not, 1600 x 1200, no problems with menus or anything. What amazes me is that I have the infamous Granite Bay board, which continues to use this video card with no problems. AGP 8x, Fast Writes enabled! Go figure! If you haven't already, make sure if you do a video driver upgrade, you reload DirectX again. I loaded 9.0a off the CD, then new Catalyst 3.6s, then DirectX 9.0b--and now she's really good to go the duration! Until, of course, we load up my fav Beechjet, which will probably make it crawl!I am amazed after setting it up properly for the full 3D c…

I thought it be a good idea to get a list going of the new ATC callsigns that were added to FS2004. I only have about 5 planes from FS2002 added to FS2004 so far. Out of the 5 I added, "Southwest" is now in the ATC callsign list. Dutchbird, Jetsgo, Air Berlin, and Excel Airways callsigns still don't work in FS2004.Anyone got any more new callsigns that were added into FS2004?

I compiled roughly about 15 BGLS with Airport 260 and used them in FS2000. I copied most of them to FS2004 and had success of all except 2.The BGLS that worked in FS2004 were essentially landmarks or minor sceneries of sorts. The 2 BGLS that did not work are the ones that depict an airport runway with an ILS approach which worked fine in FS2002 but not in FS2004.My questions are:1. Is it too soon to ask if there is somekind of a BGL converter from FS2002 to FS2004?2. Is there any way I can recompile the BGLS so that they would fit in FS2004?Would appreciate any help.Thanks.Abe

Is there any way to start FS04 without having to insert disk 4 every time. I'm sure we will all wear it out over the next 2 years. I thought I might back it up to use as a startup disk, but my CD creator didn't want to copy it. Regards, Tom

Just got done reading the First part(s) of Avsim's FS2004 review. Wow, this isn't your ordinary, everyday review... Much detail, gorgeous screenies, good advice, historical backgrounds - Very Nice. My only regret was not loading up a trans-continental flight on my sim computer so I could log some time while reading such an in-depth article :-).I was especially impressed with Ian Scott's reviews of the 172 and the DC-3. Ian has an entertaining writing style and has a rare gift of objectively providing some constructive criticism while still making it clear that he truly enjoys and approves of the product. I'd really be interested to know what he thinks about the GA flight …

Any new ideas on how to get FS2004 to go past the splash page? There's a lengthy thread from several days ago with a few suggestions, but none worked for me. Wondering if it's a rampant problem, and if any new ideas to fix it have surfaced over the past few days. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I dont know what it is about my real world wether, but I can never get it to work. I am having the same problem with FS2004 as I did with 2002. No matter what the wether is in my area (near KORD) It is never correct when I download it in FS2002 or 2004. For example here in chicago at the time of me typing this we are having very severe wether. It is very windy pouring rain and constant thunder and lightning. This has been going on for about 2 hours. When I download my wether in FS it shows that its clear calm winds at 4kts! Not even a drop of rain or a cloud in the sky? What is going on here? Someone please help!!!Thanks in advance

Often the terrain, and landmarking in the sim is overlooked or taken for granted. I guess because to so many times it ends up just being the "backdrop" to a nice flight. In FS2004, using only the default scenery, I started a flight at a VERY obscure airstrip in the mountains where I used to camp/hike as a kid in Idaho. The scenery is so accurate that I can take off and navigate visually using highways and dirt roads that I used to drive on to get to my favorite campsites. Every road is present, every river, every creek, every lake. I can actually look across the terrain and see things exactly as I saw them in real life. The improved autogen brings even more depth than…
