Hi there, I searched for my problems but for some reason the search function page just timed out, any ideas ??...Anyway,I've noticed a few glitches with FS9. Occasionally i get a black flickering on my screen. It seems to happen more in clouds and with the GPS displayed but then again it seems to happen on and off when it wants to.I've also noticed that when i select and aircraft/ select an airport the screen becomes completely distorted and it glitches. This only happens in full windowed mode thought. Is there anyway to turn off the flying tips, "your altimeter is not set yadda yadda yadda..." ?And last but not least, could someone tell me where the FS2004 config file is …

The scenery in FS04 is really nice but I have one question - has anyone noticed that the water seems to be too turquoise in color? I noticed Lake Michigan and around Seattle the water seems more like you are in the Bahamas.

OK. Opened the box.Long installation, but all seemed okay at first start up.Frame rates very jerky, but basic tweaking done with filters and now very smooth.I am a 737 lover, and enjoy medium-long flights. Missing Dreamfleets 737 already!Have completed three short range 737 flights, so whats good? Its all subjective I know, but eye candy is much improved.Weather is

I have a p4 2.0 512 Gforce3 computer and would like to just upgrade the video card for now til I can afford a top end system. Should I get teh 5600 256 ram or will there be much of a difference if I get the 5900ultra 256ram card? I really cant see spending an extra 300 bucks if my CPU is restricting a higher card from preforming and might only get a few more frames per second. However if the deffernece would be waaay better graphics and at least 10 more frames per second then I could see getting the top end card.Kilstorm

I have been noticing alot of frustration with FS9 and frame rates.I thought I would throw in my 2 cents and success with gettingFS9 tweaked and running great! I have been flying FS9 for about a week now and started outwith average frame rates. I was getting 9-12 FPS with most sliders50-70%. I was a little disappointed with the performance andstuttering. Before we go further here are my specs:Pentium 4 - 1.7 512 megs memoryGeforce4 440 GO video card - 32 Megs(Laptop)As you can see even though my computer is only 9 months old, I don't have a super computer. Would be consedered an intermediate machine. Now after playing for a couple days and tweaking I am getting20-29 average…

Looks like i`m adding to a long list of problems which people have been having. When i turn aliasing on i manage to loose my panel no matter which plane i use. When i go to the main menu the panel suddenly comes up but when i click back to fly the plane it goes again.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, fs2004 is a vast imporvement on the previous flightsim so it would be nice to get this all working peachy!cheers

Anybody know of any way to tone down or dim the landing lights a bit in FS2004? I was using the ERJ-145 From Feel Real tonight and really noticed they "wash out" everything in front of you. Is there perhaps an Aircraft.cfg edit or such you could make to fix this up? Anybody got any ideas?-Jason Peters B-52H Crew Chief USAF [email protected]

I'll assume that I can port over my landclass from FS2002. However, when I do so , do I lose roads, and the hi-tension power lines and Railroads that are part of FS9? If they are part of a separate bgl, then no. While the default landclass is far better thatn fs2002, my home is placed in a swamp instead of my quasi-rural suburbia that is actualy present (I live at KTAN, 35 miles from KBOS and 2 minutes from a shopping mall!)Tim

Just purchased FS2K4, installed...which went very smooth, but the problem is that it will not start. It keeps asking me for disc 4, which I have in and it just keeps asking for it. Am I doing something wrong?? Any ideas are much appreciated.ThanksSean

I had all my FS2k sceneries in a special folder, with subfolders for each region of the world which were subdivided into the individual specific scenery folders. I also had a series of scenery.cfg files for each region of the world, which I then loaded into the FS2k folder, depending on which region I wanted to fly in. Way back, this was a topic of mine in

Since CSI's forum is down, I decided to post here. Is there a re-paint in Midwest Airlines colors for the CSI 717? I searched on avsim, and flightsim....no results. Does anyone know if there is a gmax/fsds2 717 floating around (not nathan tenny or that payware one)? Thanks for your help!!

Hi guys,Last night I installed FS 2004 on my "ancient" system:HP Pavilion PIII 733384 MB SDRAM16MB Riva TNT206.11 driversAt Seattle with sliders at default setting in the Cessna 172 I got 9 FPS on the ground during takeoff and 12 FPS in the air. Ground texturing was sparse as were autogen and scenery objects. I decided to throw all sliders to the right and the result was a predictable 5 FPS, not bad considering, but not acceptable for regular flying. After that quick fight I moved to the beautifully rendered Princess Juliana, and to my surprise performance jumped to about 13 FPS. In the Cessna it was very flyable. And remember this is with sliders maxed out.I then trie…

I was wondering if anyone is using a Geforce fx 5600 videocard with 44.03 nvidia drivers, and what I can do to get the main 2d cockpit view to come on. Other than that, the Geforc fx5600 video card works okay.

I don't own CoF yet, but I've been looking at all the great screenshots people have posted. Not trying to complain, but I think the color of the water in FS2k4 is way off.I live in Seattle, anf MS makes Puget Sound look like the Caribbean! :-lolThe water is very dark blue here, and in the game, it is very light blue, like you would expect around the Bahamas.Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi,I have tried almost everything, but I still get poor performance in the 2D panel view. All other views are great, I get 35 fps in VC and external, but 8 fps in 2D panel. It is OK will most of the default planes, it only seems to effect addon planes, Milton's commanders are a good example, which by the way work great in FS2004, clickable VC and all :).So any ideas on how I can increase 2D panel performance?ThanksDan.

Has anyone found a panel(s) that will work in 2004 to replace the default 737 and 777 Panels ?

Hello,Anyone with FS2004 notice that the Aircraft Display Quality setting in the "settings/display/hardware" menu seems to always revert to "high"? After a view change, whenever I set it to "ultra high" it decides to switch itself back to just "high".Anyone else notice this, or find a fix?best,Joel

Hi,I've a problem with FS2004 and Windows XP registry. When I start FS2004 and FS2004 initializes I get the message 'Cannot find the MS Flight Simulator Registry Tree. Ary you sure it was installed properly?'. The message box has the window title 'Mag Var Init' and an OK button. That's it. I click OK and FS9 starts and everything is OK. I've tried to reinstall FS9 twice but the message still pops up everytime I start FS9 and it's a bit annoying. Is there anybody in the community that can help me out on this one?A clue to the cause might be that on the first install of FS9 the message didn't appear. It started to appear after an installation of FSD's Piper Seneca V model us…

Hi Just got Fs2004 today here in the Uk. last week purchased FSUIPC and hasve been it running ok inside Fs2002,but for some reason it wont run inside FS2004. I have tryed to log on to peters forum group but cant for some reason. The problem is FS fires up ok but when i minimize the screen so i can log onto the net to down load the weather, when i try and bring back FS2004 all i get is a black screen with my cursor flickering away. If i take the FSUIPC.dll file back out the problem disappears, put the .dll file back and flight sim wont run in full screen mode, all i end up with is a black screen which forces me to shut down. I'm sorry i am asking this on this forum but i c…

After a couple nights of dabbling, I discovered that the severe frame rate punishment you get from the 3D clouds is a byproduct of doing FSAA on them. I disabled FSAA in the driver and in the sim, and I've gone from running at 5 fps in full overcast with storms, to about 20.The anti-aliasing certainly helps with the scenery, but it's a performance killer when using it together with 3D clouds.J(FSAA 4x and No FSAA pix attached)

In the advanced weather dialog there is a button for toggling the display of real world weather fronts. I have yet to see this modelled anywhere, despite numerous attempts to download weather. Any clues on how this is supposed to work?

Regarding FSUIPC, etc...Not that an opinion here will ultimately matter.Ultimately what needs be found out is WHAT the FTC's opinion might be on the matter! In a nutshell, I buy X product, if I wish to use Y et al, products produced to be used with X product, I must pay Z for the privilege. No doubt the above 'hodgepodge' will sound as odd to the FTC as it seems to me.If nothing else, I would like to be a fly on the wall when M$ gets a call from an attorney with the FTC, regarding the above 'hodgepodge, wouldn't you?let's find out...
