I was wondering whether any of you might have tried editing ACOF's AI traffic using the Project AI packages or comparable items from other makers. Since I don't have ACOF yet (and will only get it after my new Radeon, just to be on the safe side :-hah ), I have no idea about the sim's file structure or the general way ACOF handles its AI traffic. I am aware that ACOF is still rather new, but I was thinking there might be a slim chance of somebody having tried fiddling with this important component of this game already :-) .Cheers,

MorningI've been flirting with Project AI but I've decided, for the sake of simplicity, to switch to My Traffic or Ultimate Traffic. I've researched both but I think it will come down to what you folks prefer and why. I'm using FS2004 - My Traffic is already updated to work effectively whereas the update to Ultimate Traffic is apparently imminent. I don't mind waiting a couple of weeks.Thank you in advance for your opinions!

I've posted some shots of my config settings, and a shot of the end result, in the screenshots forum. I hope this helps hobbyists with systems like mine--I'm pleased with the results my compromises in display settings have made.... Hi All,This request goes out to the beta testers among us and those who say that FS2004/FS9/FS COF works flawlessly on their system. Can SOMEONE please post their settings they use to get the constant, steady frame rates I've been reading about here? I tried searching through the forums and came up empty handed with something detailed and to the EXACT position of the sliders. Don't worry about your and my system not being the same, any combination I can try won't hurt!!I purchased the latest edition on Wednesday and have YET to get it to run smoothly. To apease those that may assume I have a low end system, my specs can be found towards the bottom of this post. I was able…

For the benefit of those of you with lower end systems, who are wondering if they should take the plunge, here are my first impressions:My system: AMD 850 Duron, 256MB Ram, Geforce 2MX 400 32MB, 30G HD;have used FS2002 for two yearsI started out at my home airport of Chilliwack BC (rural area surrounded by mountains). Everything ran smooth (12-15fps) flying the cessna with most sliders set to medium. Detailed 3d clouds at 20% coverage did seem not affect framerates too much in that particular area of the world - even severe weather was flyable, from a framerate perspective. There now are bridges where roads cross water - nice, the clickable virtual cockpit works great and…

I have just updated my website with misadventures part 12, which documents the first part of my visit to the middle east. I had a little trouble after takeoff from Afghanistan and had to make an emergency landing in Iran. Visit my website to find out how the rest of the trip went. http://paz8473.tripod.com

I think I am going to go ahead and buy the new version 6.0 because it is up to date with weather and uses the dynamic weather so you see clear skies to the left and a thunderstorm to the right which is the most important thing to me. I would by ActiveskyWx but they lack this feature for right now till v2.0. Does anyone have COF and running version 6 right now, and how do you like it. Is the weather truley up to date, and do the cloud enviroment still look the same as it does in the default mode. Does the frame rates get affected very much and how much thanks a lot [email protected]

Meanwhile back at the ramp...I pre-flighted her slowly and gently until I felt the time was perfect to peel away the sheer fabric covering her delicate turbine fan blades... "OUCH!!!". I had been concentrating so hard on doing a thorough walk-around, that I hadn't noticed the rogue chock on the tarmac until after I had tripped over it. I quickly raised myself off of the pavement (which unfortunately for my face didn't magically disappear on such close "inspection" like I remember it doing in 2002) and quickly looked around to see if anybody was watching. Nope, no witnesses... my pride was still intact! Like I really needed to worry - except for the occasional pilot busy w…

No, this is not another tip to place your sliders, but something most people including me overlook. I struggled hours last night positioning my sliders but the stutters didn't go away. Now here's what you need to try:Go to http://www.guru3d.com and download "Sandra 2003 Max". It's on the right in the "popular downloads" box. What this tool does is closely examine your system and spit out a list of things you can reconfigure to get things faster. If your underlying system is not configured properly, you will never get performance out of fs2004.Sandra found out my AGP bus had always been disabled! I had forgotten to install my intel MB drivers, so it used PCI mode. :-badtee…

Hmmm, if I've not mistaken (which is usually the case, mind you :-) ) I've read somewhere that Milton is thinking about adding a VC and some extra goodies to it once finished with the Commander-series... Has anyone tried the Dash in FS2004? I can't find any reason for it not to work as it is now, being made in GMAX and all... (And it's really one beautiful plane! )rgrds/fredrik

Hey all, Just flew from KBOS-KJFK IFR in a default 737. Was in thick fog and cloud till FL180 and was getting good framerates and sound. About half way thru the flight the sound started deteriorating...breaking up...echoes and the framerates went ashcan...dropping to single digits. Any help would be most appreciated...not giving up yet.P4 2.4 533FSBCreative SB LiveGeForce 5200 128mb AGP512 [email protected] evans

Hey all I hope someone can help me out here..When I try to install MSFS9 it gets to 4 percent and then I get the error message "cannont transfer Msgame1.cab" and then goes on to say it may be my swap file or possibly the CD itself. I returned the copy and picked up another copy, cleaned my CDROM and checked my swap file which I tried both windows mananged as well as some custom settings. Im still gettting the exact same error durring install...Does anyone know what could be causing this??? One thing I found while messing around was when I transferred the Msgame1.cab file to my HD to try and install from there in a last ditch effort, winzip reports the Msgame1.cab file a…

In FS2002 I had no problem setting Traffic to 100% once I had UT. I believe a big part of that was that all those high poly default MS Airliners were replaced with low FPS cost ones. While I wait for UT I am flying COF with traffic 100%. Does anyone know if the COF Traffic GA 100% is double that of the Traffic GA in FS2002 as is the case with many of the sliders? I wonder if UT will reguire a COF Traffic setting of 100% to get all the normal real world flights. If that it the case and the GA traffic has been doubled or increase greatly then I will be picking up alot more GA than when using FS2002. Too bad MS didn't put seperate sliders for GA and Airlines instead of all…

Has anyone else made the mistake of looking at FS2004 at 1600x1200?Holy cow. Now, I'm in a bit of a pickle 'cause there is no way I am ever going back to 1024x768. The difference is pretty incredible.Funny thing is, I get solid fps in windowed mode as long as I don't use real weather. I don't need to run anti-aliasing or filtering because the landscape has so much detail at that resolution, and jaggies are not an issue. I just took off from LAX, at night, with the "building storms" theme, and stayed at my locked 18 fps.The runways are really breathtaking at 1600x1200.Quick tip that might be helpful to others: The "hide menu bar" function in window mode decreased my fps by…

Chris or anyone that may know,I have noticed that bridges are missing (primarily Tampa Bay area where I live near)in FsCOF?? Not a real big deal, but seems unfinished and I cannot believe beta testers would have missed this?! So maybe I AM missing something like a setting is off or something?Again, not the end of the world just a question!I tried (with no success)(1) Maximum Scenery Complexity(2) Maximum Autogen Complexity(3) Maximum Terrain Mesh setting

Man I love it ! Started by looking on the internet for some strongwx in my state of Fla.Big bad CBs NE of KMCO, so That sounded like a good test to me! Online Metar report for Kmco showed distant lightning NW but other than that Orlando was VFR.Took off, grabbed a IFR flight plan direct KBKV which put me through the wx and sure enough out in the distance there was lighning in the cumulus on the horizon! Too cool! :-cool Got in the weather( Just wish the turbulence would be more realisic.)Got out to a broken ceiling at 10,000 and land at Brooksville no trouble. Very neat to see current weather in the distance! Now only if there was a way to Beef up these CBs !!Walt,

Dear Diary,Today I flew out of my home airport, KMGM, for the first time since 2002. What with flying around the world and visiting all of the scenic wonders there are to see, I haven't had the chance to spread my wings around the old stomping grounds for a while; but I just couldn't pass up my opportunity to try out the new Learjet 45 that everybody's been talking about lately. This afternoon, I bummed a ride to the airport with my old friend, Joe Slew. I was surprised that he took the old Mobile Highway instead of the "new" cut-through off I-65 (I think they built it back in '95) which makes the commute much faster. Once we got on Highway 80, I realized why Joe took the …

Hi all,In FS2004 the performances in term of FPS are much better in VC than in 2D cockpit. It was just the opposite in FS2002. Anybody else noticed that?P4 2.53 o/c 2.81Gb RAM DDR 270OGeForce 3Henri

Hello guys,I have a really big problem. When I land an aircraft (Lear 45, 747, 777) fps drop to 1 - 2 from around 20 - 25 fps. It doesn't matter where it touch down. I can do a low overfly and get the 20 - 25 fps but as soon as my wheels touch down it is finish. I use a 2 GHz P4, Win XP, 512 MB RAM and FS9. I never had this problem in FS2002.Any help is GREATLY appreciated because FS9 is so great but this little thing makes it nearly unusable.Greetings,Christopher
